Why won't the TV Signal setting stay as I set it?

I asked this question somewhere on this site a while back about my iPhone on iOS 4 but can't find the original posting... so this time I'm going to try on the iPad thread instead.
So... I plug in my composite video lead. I go to the TV Out options and set Widescreen to "ON" and TV Mode to "PAL". All works as expected.
Except next time I plug the composite video lead in and connect to a screen that is PAL only I find I'm seeing a monochrome picture. When I check the settings I find TV Mode has been reset to "NTSC".
I first spotted this on my iPhone with iOS 3, the problem was carried over into iOS 4 on my iPad and still exists on both devices with iOS 5. This wouldn't be too bad since most TV's sold in Europe these days seem to be happy with either setting but I have an old car DVD player which I use to keep the family happy on long journeys and they can't handle NTSC, it's a real PITA having to remember to check the setting every time I plug one of my devices in (or somebody decided they'd rather watch content from their iPod).
Has anybody else seen this? More importantly can anybody tell me where I can report this problem to Apple so they can actually fix it?

So it is with me. But after upgrading to ios5 I have not switched regime collapsed entirely. All settings are constantly getting on NTSC. Video is now playing in black and white without the wide screen. Before the upgrade - just resets. Iphone 4 ios5 and Alpine ixa-r404r.

    Doesn't any bring up the fact that Apple has so many customers with problems that the refuse to help unless you pay them cash? They update you and screw you over and then offer no useful troubleshooting scenarioius to help their millions of customers. It is because they want millions of our dollars. I hate Apple.

    Thank you! Well that helped get them in line with each other the only problem is now for some reason the mission statement is to the left of the content information and the mission statement is supposed to be to the right. Sorry I am obviously a beginner and I'm sure its something simple but I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
    This is how I changed the style sheet:
    #content {
              width:482px;
              float: right;
              padding-bottom:181px;
    #mission {
              width:182px;
              color:#FFF;
              float:right;
    Now it looks like this:

  • Why won't my FireWire HD partitions stay mounted on my desktop?

    Why won't my FireWire HD partitions stay mounted on my desktop? I recenly purchased a quad interface 500GB external HD from OWC (which is connected via FW800). I then partitioned it for TIME MACHINE, some room for a backup of my primary HD, and partitions for boot disks for LION, SNOW LEOPARD, & TIGER. All partitions seem to be OK as well as the backup I made of my primary HD (using SuperDuper). My Energy Saver prefs are set to sleep the display in 3 minutes and the Hard Drive in 15 minutes. I fried one of my processors on the old Quicksilver by setting the Hard Drive sleep to NEVER. Don't want to make that mistake again on this Mac Mini, but I'm afraid that it is these prefs that are causing the primary internal HD to sleep, and at the same time lose my new external HD. Mysteriously, I have a SimpleTech 160GB HD with two partitions connected via USB2.0 and these NEVER dissappear.
    Anyone have some helpful advice? It would be greatly appreciated.

    Well, it's now Sunday, around 11:00am. What I have discovered has nothing at all to do with Energy Saver prefs as I had previously suspected. This morning, after having unchecked the box that would "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible," I woke the computer and discovered that once again all partitions of my new external hard drive were no longer mounted. So I thought of trying something new.
    Because I believed it to be insignificant, I failed to mention that this hard drive has two FireWire 800 ports. One is connected directly to the Mac Mini, the other I used to daisy chain a connection to my iSight camera (FireWire 400) using a bilingual cable. I wondered if the daisy chain might be causing a problem somehow. Incidentally, the iSight camera launches iChat whenever I turn the new HD off and then on again. An action which has always caused the missing partitions to mount. iChat launches even if the aperture cover is closed (turns camera off). Note: connected this way the iSight camera has been working fine.
    So this is what I tried next. I simply unplugged the bilingual cord connecting my iSight camera. The first time the computer went to sleep, when I woke it again all the partitions were right where they should be. So I took the next step by once again checking the box next to "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible.” Now the Energy Saver prefs are once again set exactly the way they were before I bought this new drive. I left for church at 7:45 and returned around 11:00am. Again, when I woke the computer all partitions of the new drive were exactly where they should be.
    So, problem gone. But now how do I connect my iSight camera? And why is it causing all the partitions for the external drive to drop from the desktop every time the computer sleeps?
    I have a son in the Navy and use the iSight to video chat when he is overseas. Is there something obviously wrong about the way I had the iSight camera connected? I would certainly welcome any help or suggestions.
    Thanks in advance,

    That's just the way the web works. If the font is not
    installed on the
    user's computer it can't display in their browser. You are
    best to stay with
    commonly installed fonts and to specify multiple fonts in
    your CSS. Start

    In list view: Why don't searches include results from the Collections field? Why won't the Collections column sort properly?

    I create a new index on column2, (INDEX_N3)
    and change SQL to
    select 1 from table T1 where
    T1.COLUMN_002 = '848K 36892'
    This time INDEX_N3 will be used.

    Why won't the bought and downloaded films play?

    It won't let me download iOS 7.  When I check for software updates it says that it is up to date.  I also went to iTunes to delete the songs from the iPod, but now it isn't even recognizing any devices.  I even uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it to my computer.  LOL  I am sure it is something small, but I don't have the patience for it now.  Maybe I should step away from the computer and come back in a little bit...    Thank you for the advice though!  Keep it coming!  I know it is hard to diagnose over the internet, but any ideas help!

    Hi;
    This FAQ should describe the issue - you need to be using Adobe Reader (free) or Adobe Acrobat to fill out the PDF, Preview on the Mac breaks the PDF so it is no longer usable: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2653
    Thanks,

    more info would help. If you're using actionscript and
    loading images from a folder maybe your path to that location is
    wrong. It's possible that your images aren't in the right layer or
    level but noticed that when initially published.

  • Why won't the full song play?

    why won't the full song play? It plays the first 11 seconds on EVERY device then skips to the next song. It's Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode

    Hi bsiria,
    If you are having an issue with one or more songs not playing completely, you may want to troubleshoot this by using the steps in this arcticle -
    Songs in iTunes may not play back completely
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4357
    Specifically -
    If iTunes in the Cloud is available in your country, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
    Delete the purchased song that is exhibiting the problem from your iTunes library.
    Click on the Purchased link in the iTunes Store to view your previously purchased music.
    Download your previously purchased song from this list.
    Note: iTunes in the Cloud, which allows you to download previously purchased songs from the iTunes Store, is not available in every country. Learn if iTunes in the Cloud is offered in your country.
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Brett L
