Why wont aol emails send

Why wont emails sent from my aol account on my iphone?
It works fine from my Macbook and other pc's but just not the handset.
everytime I try to send it places the email in the Outbox and displays a message

Are you sending an iMessage to an IOS 5 device? The Messages only works between ios 5 users. I have friends who have iPhones that don't have the update or their phone/touch is too old to get it and I cant send a message either.

Why wont an email send even though i am logged in and i can receive mail

I upgraded to an iphone6 a couple of month ago and ever since i have I've had problems with my apple mail.
i log in with my hotmail account and i receive emails thats fine but the notifications (even though they are switched on) will not notify me on a locked screen.
That is one problem.
But my main problem is that i am logged in and can receive mail yet i cannot send any mail as it comes up with a message "You cannot send your username and password may be wrong"???

I recently helped a friend with the same problem. Do you know what website the email address is from. If it is Hotmail try removing the account and be sure to choose Exchange as the account type when setting up the account again.

N95 aol email sending/settings

I have set up my n95 phone for aol email using Imap settings given by aol
I am able to retrieive email/files and read them from aol server but on trying to reply or send new email nothing happens just a continuous upload bar.
I feel this could just be a setting problem and have checked all settings are as specified and it still does not work.
Anyone out there had a similar problem and has any ideas on fixing it

Why won't emails send

wow. I just checked the outbox on my e61i in the built-in messaging app, and discovered a long list of emails that I thought had been sent over the past week - got the sent email sound at the time of 'sending' - and the only thing I can figure out is that I'd tried out the mailx app downloaded from nokia, but have since removed it.
will probably be fixed when I do a hard reset, but need to send many of those emails and nothing will go although I am receiving email fine and have not changed any outgoing settings - just suddenly stopped working.
any thoughts on how i can fix this so i can send the existing messages?

AOL email sending issue, after latest iphone update

I have updated to the latest os. Now suddenly my AOL emai laddress has stopped sending, recieving is fine. I am alos using the company wifi, which is bt. I have also changed the outgoing mail server settings to smtp.btinternet.com, but still cant send.
Does anyone have any idea that might fix this.

no, you need to actually go to your settings and change it to push data rather then fetch it manually.
Settings>mail contacts and calendars>fetch new data>Push should say on.
and if it says its already on, tap it to turn it off, then tap again to turn it back on.
also, www.downrightnow.com you can see how extremely often throughout the day yahoo mail servers are down.

Why is my email send function almost always broken?

I have had it working a couple of times, and I'm sure I have the settings (port, address, username, etc.) correct. However, it just stops working. (It works a lot less than it's broken.)
The mail send operation hangs for a long time (and I can't cancel the send, so I get stuck in this perpetual loop).

My phone will only send imessages through my email and i can not get it to send through my phone number. It worked previously until it was accidently erased and now i can not get it to work. How can i fix this?

After each step, toggle FaceTime and iMessage off and then on in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Verify that you are connected to a cellular network and can send SMS messages. You need a valid SMS messaging plan to activate FaceTime.
Ensure that FaceTime has not been restricted: Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.
In Settings > General > Date & Time, ensure that Set Automatically is on. If Set Automatically is on, but the incorrect time zone is displayed, turn Set Automatically off and then choose the correct time zone, date, and time. Then turn Set Automatically on again.
Contact your carrier to verify that there are no restrictions on text messages. Blocks on text messaging will prevent iMessage and FaceTime registration.
If you are unable to activate iMessage or FaceTime on a device after remote wiping it, wait at least 24 hours and try again.
If "Waiting for Activation" is displayed, leave FaceTime and iMessage enabled for 24 hours. Toggling FaceTime or iMessage off and on will cause the registration process to start over.

I have been trying to use my imessage for two weeks now and they wont send.

Try turning off iMessage.
Then Reset Network Settings.
Then turn iMessage back on.
