Why wont dns flush in mac os 10.6.8 using sudo dscacheutil -flushcache

Use the following Terminal command to reset the DNS cache I put in sudo dscacheutil -flushcache and clicked return
it asks for the password then enter it tells me
sudo: dscasheutil: command not found
What am I doing wrong?
My email provider changed servers and now 2 of my macs can not get to the new dns.

I have a 2008 Macbook Pro and my device is doing the same. You would think with the high prices the consumers pay for these prducts, the least that can be done is Apple fixing this ****. This has been an ongoing ordeal for me since ab out mid October of last year. Firewall on, firewall off, it doesn't matter. The **** won't work. Tsk tsk tsk apple.

Could you please attach the log files in the forum which can be found at this location:

named as "Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 8.0 xx-xx-2009.log.gz" and "Uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 8.0.0.0 xx-xx-2009.log.gz"
Could you please also let us know if you have ever installed PSE 8 Beta build on the same system AND what all other Adobe products are installed on the machine?
I know this might not console you but PSE8 is working fine on may Snow Leopard machines and therefore the issue is not with the installer itself but with the conflicts happening on your machine. So please be patient and help us with the above information while we try to get you started.

Mac Mini, Mac OS X 10.5.8, DNS Flushing

A company recently changed its IP Addresses, and since the browser reported "Cannot connect to the server", have tried to flush the DNS using the Terminal Commands
i) dscacheutil -flushcache
and
ii) sudo dscacheutil - flushcache
Given that the browser returns the same error message, can anyone recommend troubleshooting steps.

System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

Is that Interface dragged to the top of Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations.
If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).

HT1338 Why wont my mac finish the software update?

I just bought Snow Leopard for my mac and when it starts to install it only gets to the point where it says "46 minutes remaining" and then the disk stops reading. Its says to carefully clean the disk and I do, so why wont it finish? I just bought the disk and it cant completely read.

Where did you purchase the disc from?
How large is your hard drive and how much hard drive space do you have left?
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer.
Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk.
Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2963 and restart your computer. Try upgrading again. Repair permissions and restart your computer again and post the results.

well, the bad news for you is that the specs do indicate that it will not run on your computer.
Why, you ask.
If you look at the TurboTax 2012 specs for Mac, it states that for Mac OS X 10.6.8, one needs to run 64-bit.
from Intuit site, TurboTax Deluxe 2012 computer requirements (http://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/deluxe.jsp):
Processor:Intel-based Processor
Operating System:
Mac OS X v10.6.8 or later
Mac OS X v10.7.5 or later

Note: 64-bit required for Mac OS 10.6.8

My Mac:
   Intel Core Duo
   OS 10.6.8

your spec list above states that you have an Intel Core Duo. The Apple kb article (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3696) shows a list of which processors are 64-bit and which are 32-bit. Unfortunately for you, the Intel Core Duo is 32-bit. This is why TurboTax 2012 will not run on this computer.
The next processor, Intel Core 2 Duo, is 64-bit, as are the later Xeon and "i" series.

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what happens when you click on the Edit button at the bottom of the iPhoto window?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?
A universal fix for some issues is the following:
1 - reboot.
2 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
3 - delete the contents the following folder: User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
4 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.

Why is audio and video behavior different after a incoming telephone call?
Audio will resume after a call is complete without user intervention. Why wont video.
Why do you have to hit play after the call is completed to continue video playback?
Its particarly annoying when you have the iPhone connected to the TV through the new video cable.
Seems like a bug to me.

HT4314 Why wont apple let you disable or unregister from gamecenter!? why?

Why wont apple let you disable or unregister from gamecenter?! Iv done everything I can but games log into it reactivated its notifications aswell. It auto logs me back in...I want apple to let you unregister completely why not?? I have disabled all notifications from Gamecenter romoved all games listed, i deleted my email adress registered, i changed my user name...and loged out but games reactivate it, I also noticed it still keeps a record of your previous score and when reactivated relists all games on your handset again aswell.

I feel the same way -- I would REALLY like to remove this misbegotten piece of junk completely. I would SETTLE for being able to disable it -- although there are instructions for "disabling" it, it doesn't STAY disabled. I have followed the instructions, removed my email address (although it still uses my email address as the login and won't allow me to ACTUALLY remove it), made my profile private, then signed out... And the next time the device is powered back on, the account is logged in again and insisting on trying to connect to every game I play. So I deny access, "disable" it, sign out, etc, again... ad infinitum, ad nauseum.
When the rest of my family switched to android, I stubbornly stayed with my beloved iOS devices and my Macs, but this annoyance -- which WILL NOT go away -- almost makes me think I should reconsider. I HATE Game Center, and want it off my devices.

some comments:
I updated yesterday the DNS entries for this domain (to google site). Today I still see the old page in Safari,Firefox and Chrome (Beta) on my Mac (which run on my server with the ip 84.38.66.166)
e.g. in Windows 7 in a Fusion VM I see the new page.
I only found some hints about flush the DNS cache but as you see it did not help.
Is there a problem with my DNS setup or an other thing I missed?

DNS looks good, as far as I can tell. You need to tell Google (blogspot, I assume?) that it has to serve the respective page when asked for www.stephan-zehrer.de via CNAME. But I bet you did that, as I see 74.125.77.121 answering when opening the page in Firefox (using a nifty little plugin called DND Domain Details).
The flushcache command is also correct... Do you use a proxy from where you try to access your page? A lot of universities do that, so you might want to talk to the local system administrator and ask him when he thinks the proxy refreshes the page.

Why wont my PDF's print

Should have registered under the name Frustration! I am using Windows 7, Adobe Reader X and am on a wireless network. Every other program prints (Office 2010) but the PDF's won't. There is no error message and the print window has nothing queued. The printer is cabled to a Mac Pro.
I have tried all the Adobe recommendations, updated drivers etc and still no results. Any advice appreciated

It says "the document has features not supported in this reader" and I haven't been able to open it in literally anything except for on my friend's laptop, nothing on my tablet will open it and there isn't many things I can download on the tablet instead

What error messages are you seeing (if any) when trying to open the PDF file with Adobe Reader Touch?
Have you been able to open that PDF file with other PDF software, e.g. Adobe Reader XI?
