Why wont Edge Animate preview after placing .oam file in Muse?

I placed my Edge Animate Animation into Muse but it wont preview when I select preview. It does not even show image or play animation. I followed instruction to place edge animation and in publish setting selected the animate deployment package. Deselected the frameworks via CDN (read this should not be selected but also tried it selected) made sure the stage is transparent. I saved it and published.. In Muse I selected the Place option and selected the .oam file and placed it into my webpage.  The placed file shows with animation image. I made sure to link the asset to file but it will not preview or play animation. Please help!
Thank you,
Lynn

Does it loop when you publish it to the web?

  • Audio problem with Edge animate CC 2014.1 oam files in DPS 32 (Viewer App in Ipad)

    Hi there team,
I can hear no sounds in the Ipad viewer. I think the problem may be the last update of the Ipad viewer app. But not sure if the problem is with the last 2014.1 update of Edge.
The animations work fine in Chrome with onclick but they dont'ty work in the Ipad with the ontouch commands. I also checked that the oam file contains the .mp3 in the media folder (Seems that Edge 2014.1 does this right).
They are actions, not music in the background (I know there's an iOS limitation with this).
Anyone with the same problem? Could you check if your projects work fine after the last updates?
    Thanks!
    Rubén.

I have just found the same problem. I have an Adobe DPS article that uses Adobe edge that play audio when 'tapped', I built this before the CC 2014.1 update and that one works fine. I have created another article following the same process but using the updated version and the audio will not play.
Both files are placed OAM files. Audio worked fine in the browser during testing.
Please tell me this has not been removed as a feature!

  • I cannot get Edge Animate to produce an OAM file.

I have created a simple banner animation that I have saved and published.  It work when I test it in a browser.  It saved all the appropriate files where I wanted.  But Muse needs an OAM file extention that is obtained when you choose Indesign in the publish settings dialogue, which is not one of the choices I am given, although the Tutorial on Lynda.com clearly has this option visible.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.

    Hi Amanda
Once the project is published you can use Windows Explorer (or Mac OS Finder) to locate the Edge project folder on your hard drive.
After publishing the project, you'll find a folder named "publish" with a subfolder named "dps" in the project folder. The .OAM file in the dps subfolder and that is the file you'll use for your Muse site.
We do have a tutorial available for "Inserting Adobe Edge content into a Muse website"

    Hope this helps !

  • Installing  Adobe Edge Animate preview

Why can I not install Adobe Edge Animate preview.  All the other software of the creative cloud is installed and works.  I already uninstalled the previous version but I am not able to reinstall the newest version.

I found a solution in a earlier problem to installing Adobe Edge.
After installing the Adobe Creative Suite cleaner tool I could clean up properly the Edge folder and install the new version.

  • Import edge animate into after effects

Hi, is there any possibility to import a file that is created in edge animate into after effects?

I don't think you can as they are both two different technologies. Understand that an Edge Animate file is really an HTML5 file. The actual stage that is used when creating your Edge Animate file will also import an HTML file.
Maybe one of the Adobe mods can chime in to help.

  • Edge Animate vs After Effects

I am very new to these tools, so please pardon if this is a ridiculous question.  What is the difference between Edge Animate and After Effects?  Is one better for web design? Thanks,

If you do not need interactivity, then AEffect is still a great tool to use. If you need interactivity then EAnimate is great as well

  • .oam file in Muse not appearing in browser

When I place the .oam file in Muse and then go to preview in browser it only shows me a black and white box - nothing else. I set the fill and set into invisible and tryed everything but it doesnt work. any ideas what I am doing wrong? (it's an .oam file which was made out of an mp4 video...don't know if its relevant)

    Hi Valentina!
Good new! I fixed my problem!
Actually I restarted to create the beginning of my animation in Edge to check all the parts of it step by step with Muse! And everything works! So, I tried to understand where was the problem and I remembered that I made a wrong manipulation before I placed the first time the OAM file into Muse!
Indeed, I also choose web publish settings when I was in Edge to publish my animation but I didn't need it... and I put these files in the trash! Edge was not happy at all with my manipulation and the animation couldn't work well! Then I restore the files and everything was back to normal in Edge... But perhaps not as much as I thought!
So, I just have to create again my animation and everything should be fine!
About your problem, I create a new project in Edge and it's impossible to place a video file .mp4 on stage! Edge doesn't show this kind of file to put it in the library... How did you do?!
Then I found this video which explain a way to put an .mp4 video in Animate compositions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGyOxwEsEFo I hope that will help you!
If you want to add graphics on your video, you should use Flash or After Effects at the beginning!
       1. Open the video file with AE or Flash to add graphics on it
       2. Export your new video and use the way of the link above
       3. Enjoy it
Hope you have all the keys in your hand to succeed now!
Thank you for your answer on friday
    Bye!

  • .OAM file in Muse - invalid block type (type==3)

Every time I try to insert an  Edge .OAM file in muse and try to publish I keep getting an "invalid block type (type==3)" error, over and over... it doesn't matter even if the OAM file is empty, it still displays this problem... could someone please point me if this is a bug or if I'm just doing something wrong?
    Regards

    Hi,
I have the same issue but it's not an OS issue (i think) : I'm working on SnowLeopard and I have the same error message. All the http://www.adobekb.com/inserting_edge_content.html steps are correctly followed.
I cannot use the preview mode and cannot preview in a browser as well.
    Any idea ?
    Cheers,
    Pierre

  • Why wont video resume automatically after a call?

Why is audio and video behavior different after a incoming telephone call?
Audio will resume after a call is complete without user intervention. Why wont video.
Why do you have to hit play after the call is completed to continue video playback?
Its particarly annoying when you have the iPhone connected to the TV through the new video cable.
Seems like a bug to me.

If How to Troubleshoot iSight doesn't help, Reinstall OS X.

  • Why does Edge Animate convert circles and rounded corners into "classic" rectangles?

    Hello Community!
When creating animations with circles or rounded corners in it, I came across with something strange.
I published it as .oam-file for Adobe DPS and the circles and rounded corners where converted into rectangles.
    Does anybody know a solution?
    Thank you in advance!

    Hey broekt,
If you're using the Desktop Viewer ot preview your AN content, some stuff (such as rounded rectangles) isn't supported in their version of Webkit. For true rendering make sure to always test on your iPad

  • Adobe Muse: where it must be placed .oam file via FTP???

I don't use Catalyst or other Adobe devices to publish my Muse sites, but I prefere to use FTP and add any file to respective folder.
Now I built an animation with Edge and I have correctly obtained an .oam file.
I tried to follow instructions but I'm not able to obtain any result.
Note that when I try the site in local the animation works correctly.
After that I tried to place namefile.html in html folder, namefile.css in css folder and namefile.oam in image folder and it does'nt work.
I tried to create in the main root a new folder with this path:
    /assets/namefile/namefile.html
and the result becomes better because now the frame of the documents appears correctly, but instead of the animation it appears an error alert.
So I suppose that the problem is: where exactly it must be placed the .oam file?
I didn't find any suggestion on the various forums.
    Please can you help us?
    Regards
    Lorenzo

Hello, thank for the time you have dedicated to my question.
In any case I want to explain better the sense of it, regarding to the use of MUSE we are doing, that can maybe interest other users.
We are using MUSE to produce a Ipad/Android digital magazine. We find very helpful MUSE and EDGE to make interactive and multimedial magazines and in the past 6 months we experienced many advanced solutions. We developed a low cost Ipad APP and Android App, fully customizable from users, that are now able to manage a HTML5 source coming from MUSE/EDGE.
Everything works perfectly but, unfortunately, MUSE is not born for magazines but for sites so it does'nt hold some essential features needed for digital publishing. So we have to correct manually some lines in any .css and sometimes add something in html file. Due to this inconvenient we must finish any page, export the relative HTML and, after that, upload it singularly together with css, also because if we should upload the whole site every time we make a change the new re-generation would cover the corrected files.
That's why I ask you the exact path for the folder asset and the other generated file and I can't use the automatic .oam system.
In any case we have found a provisional solution:
    1. we placed the folder "assets" in the main root, together the html file, the css folder and the image folder.
    2. We created inside this assets folder a sub folder for the specific animation, naming (for instance "xxx").
    3. Inside xxx we placed:
    folder "edge includes"
    folder "images"
    file "animation1.html"
    file "animation1_edge.js"
    file "animation1_edgeActions.js"
    file "animation1_edgePreload.js"
    4. In the Muse html file that hosts the animation we used the box "insert HTML" and we wrote the following code:
    <iframe src="assets/xxx/animation1.html" width="1024" height="768"></iframe>
If you have a better way to do that, please let us know.
In any case you can see the preview of the digital magazine at the following URL
    www.piu39magazine.it
and you can see the result of the animation at the URL:
    http://www.piu39magazine.it/vignetta.html
The main advantage of this solution is that a Ipad/Android magazine can be viewed in the same interactive, graphic and multimedial way also in the web, taking advantage of the touch screen in the new forthcoming Hybrids under Windows 8.
Hoping this experience can be useful for other Muse users.
    Best regards

  • Transform an Edge .oam file in Muse

This for when you right-click on a .oam file in Edge.
I dropped in two additional options of Transform and Poster Image…:

Hey Thats for your help. I'm new to dreamweaver can you please explain a bit more as to what I need to change.
Here is the line of code for the Animate content:
    <object id="Page1" type="text/html" width="1116" height="620" data-dw-widget="Edge" data="../../ServiceIQ Online Flyer/edgeanimate_assets/page1/Assets/page 1.html">
            </object>
Do I just change <object id> to <iframe>? and leave everything else?
In your snippet below, what is the <COMPOSITION ID>?
    var comp = document.getElementById('<IFRAME ID>').contentWindow.AdobeEdge.getComposition("<COMPOSITION ID>");
      comp.getStage().playMovie('one');

  • Adobe Muse and Edge Animate - How do you consolidate files on server/ftp?

    Hello everyone,
I am working on a site, and I recently added Edge Animate animations to it.  They look great, but the only issue I'm having is that the site doesn't load as quickly as I would like it to.  I did a few speed test and I think what's causing the load time is that I have about 5 different Edge Animate animations and they each have their own seperate folder with their own javascript in a folder called "Assets."
Is there a way to consolidate the "Assets folder," so that my site loads faster?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi, VelveteenWebDesignGroup-
You're in luck!  We just added in a feature to the latest version of Edge Animate CC (3.0) to enable the CDN option for OAM publish (what we call the "Animate Deployment Package").  This means that your Animate compositions can now references jQuery and the Animate runtime from the network instead of from the project directory.  (Please note that this will only make sense for Dreamweaver and Muse integration with OAM and won't make sense for InDesign.)
To turn this on, launch Animate and go to File > Publish Settings.  Then select the Animate Deployment Package on the left and click "Host runtime files on Adobe CDN."  Save and publish, and you should be good to go.
    Hope this helps,
    -Elaine
