Why wont firefox open on my home page

Firefox for some reason has decided to open in the last used site before shut down. will not respond to setting my home page as it previously did

Why won't my Firefox open with my home page instead of a blank tab?

The browser always opens in a new tab even when I have it set to open in my home page. When I have Firefox set as my default browser it opens in a new blank tab when I click a link in a document or email. The only time I get my home page on opening Firefox, is if the browser is already open and I choose to open a new window. However, when I do that I lose my yahoo toolbar settings for the newly opened window. Yes, I have tried removing cookies, and that does not work. This problem is exasperating, I do not like IE, but I use it because it opens links without my having to keep the browser open all the time.

When you launch Firefox using its program icon, you should get your preference from the following tab:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > General > "When Firefox starts"
So in your case, you should see your home page(s).
When Firefox is completely closed and you launch it using a link in email or a document, Firefox usually will ONLY open that linked page and nothing else. Are you getting a blank tab in addition? Do you want your home page in addition?
Is the problem that you want external links to open a new window when Firefox is already running?
Firefox tries to follow your preference for new tabs vs. new windows for both internal and external links.
In other words, if you have set Firefox to open new windows in a tab here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Tabs
Then external links will usually open in an existing window rather than in their own window.
There is a way to split these so they behave differently, but because the steps are detailed, I won't burden you with those unless you need them.

This is not a solution, nor a work-around. The only thing this points out is where the problem lies. Settings are meant to be used in all sessions, barring exceptions and the fact that Firefox asks if you'd rather SAVE and then quit, makes it an exception. The user has elected to skip the clear browsing history step.
However, if the settings are permanently changed as you suggest, then the history will always be remembered for eternity when Firefox is closed. You then have to manually clear your history first at every session before closing.
Older versions of Firefox never behaved in such manner and recognized that the Save and Quit superseded the setting to Clear History.

After Firefox opens my AOL home page a blank popup appears and prevents me from closing Firefox or opening the options button . How do I fix this?

I can get to my home page with the Explorer browser. The problem is only on Firefox. I've run Spybot, Malwarebytes, and scanned with Microsoft Security Essentials, but the problem persists. I recently updated Firefox for AOL. And last night I installed updates for my Windows 7 operating system.
I just tried to automatically add troubleshooting information, but I'm using Explorer right now since I can't use Firefox, so the I can't download the file. Since I can't use Firefox I can't use the manual steps either.

Firefox opens at my Home Page but then freezes and will not close unless I shut it down through Task Manager. Running Windows 7. Any ideas ?

All websites work OK through Google Chrome so I am sure this is a Firefox issue. It was fine until yesterday and I have run AVG, Malware and CCleaner with no significant results. It's also a bit odd as Google Chrome doesn't seem to want to let me import my Bookmarks from Firefox either. Any ideas anyone ??

Why wont firefox open facebook.

when I log into facebook using Mozilla Firefox I either: get a notification stating Im need to temp shut down my secure browser, or I get threw, but get a notification stating I need to shut down the secure browser if I try to enter into Mafia Wars.
Eitherway, if I click continue I get a notification to log in to facebook(which I have already done). IF this process works, when I try to get into Mafia wars I get a notification that firefox it trying to redirect this in a way that will never open this site. Hellp!

When clicking on a link firefox opens to my home page but does not go to the link.

I've disabled all plugins and extensions then reset but still have the problem.

Firefox is coded to open new tabs in a blank page. That may change in Firefox 4. I don't know.
In the meantime, there is an add-on called Tab Mix Plus that I think provides that option. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122/

Keep resetting firefox, it doesn't keep settings (I.E. to open on my home page), and when opening a tab the 3*3 links aren't there.

When I set my Firefox to open to my home page, the next day doesn't keep the settings, and when I open a new tab, the 9 click links aren't there. I have reset twice and have no toolbars, but it repeats.

New Tabs appear as :Blank, why don't they open in my home page every time?

I have set my home page to the standard Google Ireland search page and this works fine. But when I open a new tab, it opens as a blank tab every time.
The TAB section under TOOLS does not allow me specify what I would like a new tab to open as....
It just opens a blank tab every time.
