Why wont firefox start?

i cannot open firefox at all. i have tried all the things listed on the help - can't open firefox on the "run- firefox.exe" etc, can't create a new profile etc!
NOTHING seems to happen whenever i try to get into firefox.

Why does Firefox Start page always says I need to update, but it is already updated.

Firefox Start Page always has this message: " You're not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade today to get the best of the Web!"
I open Help/About Firefox, and it tells me "Firefox is up to date." Version 6.0.2 Why do I keep getting a message to update it?

Why wont Firefox launch at all?

Ok, yesterday Firefox installed he new verison of the beta, and also updated the addons. But now it wont open at all. The process isnt even running at all! I dont know how to run it in safe-mode, since i see no safe mode at all. And right now, i'm stuck using Internet Explorer! XP Can someone plese help me get Firefox back?

Hmmm...i went through all the add-ons. It's the "DownloadThemAll! Anti-container". I'm not sure why, but everything works. But in order to do that, you need to uninstall Firefox 4 Beta, re-install it, run Safe Mode (by typing in 'firefox -safe-mode' into Run, which is in the start menu. I don't know why there is no shortcut for that. XP), disable all the add-ons, and enable all except for this one add-on (and of course any that are incompatible with the Beta).
I hope this is the case with the rest of the people having this problem. If not, i hope we can still solve what it could be. In the meantime, I'm going to report this bug...

Why wont Firefox allow me to click on the top most menu bars on websites? For instance that top-most blue menu bar on facebook.

The top-most menu/options bar on websites where you could do things like log out, view your own profile, or change settings is what I was referring to. I can't click on anything up there, but I can click on everything else on the site.

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar or the Babylon extension that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.

I completely uninstalled the printer and drivers and restarted the computer. I then uninstalled and then reinstalled Firefox 7.0.1, restarted the computer and then reinstalled the printer (from the previously downloaded exe file, because I don't have the CD for the printer). Unfortunately, neither of those things worked, but I did notice that when I uninstalled Firefox, it asked if I wanted to save settings, and I said yes and it seemed to remember the Dell 720 printer in the "about:config" menu. So, maybe uninstalling Firefox without saving settings would make a difference. What do you think? Also, I just noticed in the "Add or Remove Programs" menu in control panel that the icon next to "Dell Photo Printer 720" is a little recycle bin, which seems a bit odd. On the dell.com forum, someone suggested using Firefox 5.0.1, available at a different website. Is this worth a shot or are there other more conservative troubleshooting suggestions to try first?

Why wont firefox load after i close the window ? it tells me it is already running in the background and to close that window before opening again. took 10 tries before it would load again !

As for iLivid. Possibly it also has associated apps or extensions with names not including the word iLivid. Looking at their own FAQs there are instructions to remove iLivid using the Windows Control panel, and mention of other bundled software that you may wish to remove. It seems it is more of a nuisacne rahter than out and out malware.

Why wont Firefox 5 warn me when closing multiple tabs? The box in settings is checked.

After I downloaded Firefox 5 it no longer warns me when I'm closing multiple tabs. The box is checked in settings for tabs but it still wont do it. This feature worked fine in Firefox 4. Can this be a glitch?

We are not talking about saving tabs when closing; we're talking about the warning "You are about to close X tabs" that usually shows up when you press the browser's close button. Now when I press the button, everything closes; no warning. I'm fortunate that Firefox does have a "restore previous session" button when you reopen Firefox.

Why wont firefox 4 log into my accounts automatically?

there are some websites that dont have important information and i would like to easily log into them

Use a Master Password. Then when you go to a site which requires you to login and you fill in your details, you'll get the option to "Remember Password" which is pop up (actually a pop-down). If you choose "Yes", then you'll be presented with the Master Password field.
Enter the password you created for it and then the next time you go to that site, you'll get the Master Password field every time. When you type that in and click OK, it will fill in your login details.
The alternative way of doing it is to use the option most sites have which is something like "Remember me" which you have to checkmark. But this option requires you to have cookies enabled permanently.

While being idle online for a few minutes, why does Firefox start cyclically using 50% to 5% CPU resources, with a 10 to 1, hi to lo ratio

This behavior became apparent after the last couple of Firefox version updates. Current Firefox version is 21.0. My PC is an IBM ThinkCentre running @ 3.0 Ghz Intel CPU with 1.5 Gigs PC3200 DDR ram. With or without any other Windows apps open, whether I'm on line just idling on my home page (Google) or any other web page or entering / receiving data, several minutes into a session, the MS XP pro SP3 task manager shows Firefox cyclically using 50% (and more) CPU resources for 8-10 seconds then 1-5% CPU resources for 1-2 seconds. Closing & restarting Firefox, allows me a few minutes of speedy surfing. My ISP is AT&T 2nd tier DSL with a download thruput of 300 (+) MB (not Mb) / second (altho, most of the time I'm just viewing a web page or idling, without downloading or uploading any data).
What has changed? My PC & all of its software have remained the same with the exception of MS security updates, Adobe Reader updates, & Firefox updates (without adding any additional plug ins, add ons, etc., with each update).
What the...! For the past several minutes that I've been inputting data here, the task manager showed a jump of only 13% cpu usage (ever so briefly) by Firefox & only then when I switched between the task manager & Firefox. Intermittent anomalies are gonna be the death of me...
Well, this is an annoyance, albeit an intermittent one. Ah, I pine for the days when I heard about & believed in "seamless integration"...any thots that might help resolve this issue sure would be appreciated.

Why does Firefox start from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\Updated\firefox.exe" after an update? Is there anyway to fix this besides rebooting PC?

hi, having an annoying problem after every time Firefox updates... It will launch from a nonexistent directory and cause my firewall/av to go crazy (ask to allow etc) which is very annoying.

That can be an issue caused by your security software.
When an update is downloaded the Firefox builds a new program folder for the new version in the Updated folder.
If Firefox isn't able to finish this process and move that directory to replace the current program folder then you can end up with problems like this.
What security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
