Why wont Flash Player Install on my Mac? Says Safari isnt closed?
I need help. I have got a notion saying that i need to install the new Flash Player, but when i try to do it. It wont install on my mac, becasue it says that safari isnt closed, when it in fact is closed. Can somebody help me?
On Macs there is something called Activity Monitor; use it to make sure the application is not running somewhere in the background.

Why does Flash Player install McAfee software?
I installed today Flash on my Windows PC. I opened the installer, chose "Notify me of all updates" and pressed install. The following progress bar showed not only the progress of the Flash installation but also the progress of some McAfee software installation. I couldn't reject it in an way. I had to uninstall it once it finished.
So my question is clear: Why? I don't want McAfee, I should be able to tell the installer "don't install McAfee". What if I had a limited broadband connection (3G, for example)? What if McAfee broke my antivirus installation? Is Adobe or McAfee going to be responsible if anything goes bad because of that bundle installation?
This is terrible user experience. The only thing you've achieved is my bad impression of both business, so I'll purchase/download as little as I can of any of you.

Those are FULL installers with nothing bundled.
Bookmark them, because when the version changes, the link stays the same. -
Why does Flash Player install for Mac OSX 10.8 ask to quit DashboardClient?
I don't believe there is a way to just shutdown the Dashboard Client by itself. The install will not allow me to go any further.

I am unable to watch most videos on my Macbook because i keep getting a message stating that I need to update to the latest version. When I try to do that, I get a prompt to enter my adobe password, but my password is not working at that prompt. That same password works on adobe.com though. Can someone help me?

Flash Player install starts, then fails.
My Flash Player install on my Mac fails after about 10 seconds. No message - just installation failed.
I've repaired permissions, closed my browser, cleaned up everything I can think of, all to no avail.

I unistalled, which I had done previously. I didn't find any Flash Player files in the folders that are mentioned,
Delete all remaining files and folders locating in the following folders:
\Library\Internet Plug-Ins\Flash Player.plugin
\Library\Internet Plug-Ins\flashplayer.xpt
~\Library\Preferences\Macromedia\Flash Player\
~\Library\Caches\Adobe\Flash Player\
so I'm assuming a clean uninstall.
I then tried another Install and got the same result. Couldn't find a Flash Player Install log! Here's the Directory log.

I have thee Mac computers with Mac OS 10.6.8, one of which is a Mac Pro. No matter how many updates I install from Adobe, their Flash Player does not work on any of these 3 computers. I don't know how to contact Adobe Systems about this problem, but I think it is their responsibility to make sure that their so-called "universal" software works proplerly on a relatively recent operating system like OS 10.6.8 that is still in widespread use. When you install the updates, nothing happens -- not even an error message. What is the point of a universal player that is not universal? It works fine on my MacBook Pro with OS 9 Mavericks, but it does not work at all -- indeed, has never worked -- on my 3 Macs with OS 10.6.8. Has anyone contacted Adobe Systems to find out why the Flash Player does not work with OS 10.6.8 and what they plan to do about it?

Get the appropriate dmg installer here and then run it.

If it still won't install, do these two things: First uninstall any Flash by going into the second level Hard Drive Library>Internet Plug-ins, and trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt. Then boot into Safe Boot, Shift at the startup chime (give it much longer than a usual boot) and run the installer while booted in Safe Boot. -
Having trouble installing Adobe Flash player 17.0.0.134 on Mac OS 10.10.1. Currently have 16.0.0305 flash player installed. I've tried quitting Safari. Have not uninstalled currently Adobe as yet. How to fix?
Sorry, when I try to install Flash Player 17.0.0.134, it will begin initialing, then stop saying "Installation Failed" and to press "Finish". It then directs me to troubleshooting. I made sure I quit Safari as per their instructions, but have not gone as far as "uninstalling" my current Flash Player 16.0.0.305, because it looks like I will screw something up in the process.

Trying to install Adobe Flash Player 11 on my Mac. The insallation stops and I am told to exit something called PlugInProcess. I don't know what it is. I don't show it being open. Any help?
The Plugin Process is an app that runs alongside Firefox and Safari when they're open. Lately Firefox's plugin process has been "hanging" on my Mini. I'll close the app but it keeps running and using RAM for several minutes.
Download the Mac Offline Installer here
Quit your browser and reboot if necessary to "kill" all processes.
Then mount the DMG and run the installer. -
Why is flash player 10.2 hanging on the browser on Mac? (providing detail information)
I have been using NetConnection to implement record/playback feature in flash, but a lots of users recently complaint the flash player freezing the broswer randomly during the recording. so I did some investigation and found why the flash player hanging on the broswer.
it is because the flash player waiting a 'CLOSE_WAIT' tcp socket there forever.

broswer: firefox3.6 (basically, other browsers have same problem)
so the issue is, the tcp socket connection will be closing by the peer, which just sent [FIN,ACK] to try close the socket, but the flash player have no intention to send [FIN, ACK] back to close the socket, I guess it might still want to send some data out, but even I invoked NetConnection.close method, the flash player has beening still hanging on there. so the funny thing is, if I unplug the network cable, the browser is able to wake up, I guess that is because the tcp socket is reset by RST, so the flash player catch the signal instead just stop there to wait something forever.
please guide me how I can solve this issue, it is obviously a flash player bug, whatever reason, you just cannot block the process forever.Here is the report of system when I force quit Firefox

Flash player 8 on a mac still running slow
I'm so sad... still the same old problems with flash player,
i have a powerbook g4 1.5 ghz and in the beginning i thow the new
player 8 fixes all the problems of slownessand i was happy, but i
was in wrong... the improvements are no comparable with any creepy
pc (es.celeron) and now i'm getty ungry of it!!!!
I'm a mac user from a long time and i would like to stay in
the mac platform but if you are a flash developer you have to
change because the performances are so so different on a pc
platform!!! I'was waiting too mutch that something change but still
i have allwais to test everything on a pc first to see the
diffrence of the animations... and sometime it is embarassing
especially when you have to show something to a client... I have a
very nice (expencive) machine that when i play flash looks like a
commodore vic 20!!! this sucks!!!!!! Why this is possible??? And
Why still talking ******** about the improuvements!!! the people
are not stupid! Adobe is really working on it????
p.s. sorry 4 my bad english...Thanks, that work to download the player, but now I have to click on FLASH every time I watch a video.

Why will Flash Player not work on my Macbook Air?
I downloaded Adobe Flash Player when i got my Macbook in Dec 2011, and until now it has worked fine. Today I downloaded Adobe Reader to view a PDF file, but I decided I preferred the Apple Preview, so I deleted the Adobe Reader off my system. I then tried to listen to a radio station online which requires Flash Player and it stated that I did not have the Flash Player on my laptop. I then tried to download Adobe Flash Player again to my laptop, and the download appeared to have worked but when I try to use websites like YouTube it asks for me to download Flash Player. Can you tell me why this is? And how to get Adobe Flash Player back on my Mac and for it to work again.
When I open Task Manager the only thing I see is "Tasks". I do not see the Processes tab. I have seen this in the past along with measures of other activity, but not anything now. I tried the Start/Search - nothing about Processes.
Once the Task Manager is running, select the Processes tab. On older Windows version you may need to click on the Process Name or Image Name header to sort the process names.
Now right-click on every process that the Flash Player installer needs to close (e.g. iexplore.exe), then select End Process. -
Why does flash player not work with facebook?
Why does flash player not work with fcebook? Whenever I wish to view a video, I get the message that i need to upgrade my flash player. Then no matter how often I download and install flash player I still get the message that I need to upgrade my flash player. When I go check which version I have, I always get the message that I have the most current one. I run Mozilla Firefox with Windows. I don't know anything else.
