Why wont my iTunes download the album artwork for the cd's that I import?

I'm a new Mac owner so I may be overlooking something simple. I have imported a few CD's succesfully but when i select "Preferences" and "Get Album Artwork" a message comes up that says "Could not get album artwork". I have looked in the itunes store to see if they have the album and its there... so why wont iTunes import the artwork to the albums i have imported? Thanks!

iTunes will find the artwork if the album is available in the iTunes Store and your metadata precisely matches the Store data, in every respect (spaces, punctuation, spelling).
If iTunes does not get the art, simply use a web search to find the correct image.
To paste an image into a song file, highlight the file, use the command File > Get Info, open the Artwork tab, and drag the image into the space for art (or use Copy/Paste).

Why wont IOS 5.1.1 Download

Everytime I try and update my I-PHONE 4 I-tunes downloads the IOS 5.1.1 but as it gets to the prcessing part of the download, it brings up an error message saying that the network connection has timed out and that I need to try again. After trying 6 time this morning alone I am now ready to launch my laptop through the window. Please can someone help me, or I am going to lose my mind...... Thanks

I've been having the same problem, ony I couldn't even get to the processing part--I only got about halfway thru the download when I got the network timeout notice, and I've tried on two different networks, one of which is very fast. Then I downloaded it directly onto my phone and it worked fine.
The strange thing is that on the phone it said it was 43.7 MB, but on iTunes it says it's 783.4 MB!!! What's up with THAT?

My iPhone wont install the new version of iOS 5.1 on either: wifi;3g;Edge or "original gangsta".
As an aside, neither will my Mac install the lastest iTunes as of this post either by WiFi or Fast Eth.
This has not been the case for a number of years now.
All indications point to (assuming you have taken out any devices connected to your router and reset your router)
a DNS router issue. I would imagine the number of hops the transmition (OF THE 5.1 UPDATE) has to go through, while competing for bandwith
against those online steaming movies and videos and music and talk talk talk and text, etc... is great.
On the other hand, maybe its just MaBell's "last mile".
Meanwhile, is there any serious reason to even download 5.1?

There are many issues with just changing to a "known" DNS using various IP addresses. What about DNSSEC?
Is that any better. I think the suggestions I have received are helpful. I am sure this has been the reason why on many occassions when I go to www.apple.com or www.google.com, Safari says "cant find the server" and then after a pause the web page does come up. I have lost email. So I am cagy about DNS routing as malicious sniffing may actually increase while I am getting fater thruput. Dunno. Will continue to research it.

By the way, I WAS SUCCESSFULLY ABLE TO DOWNLOAD THE CURRENT VERSION OF ITUNES RUNNING A MACBOOKPRO ON LEOPARD. IT IS ELEMENTARY.
HERE IS A SIMPLE TIP:
IF YOU SEE THAT THE INSTALL PROGRESS BAR (THE BLUE BAR) HAS PROGRESSED SIGNIFICANTLY BUT HANGING AND LATER SAYING, "CAN'T INSTALL UPDATE", DONT WAIT FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. SIMPLY HIT STOP AND INSTALL AGAIN. IT'S KIND OF LIKE NUDGING THE DOWNLOAD THRU THE TRAFFIC OR SQUIRLED DNS SERVERS.
SO WHILE IT IS TRYING TO UPDATE BUT HANGS, HIT STOP AND INSTALL AGAIN.
THIS WONT CAUSE YOU TO START FROM SCRATCH. YOU PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF. WORK FOR ME LIKE A GEM AND I DID NOT HAVE TO CHANGE DNS.

when i click 'get album artwork' it says 'artwork could not be found'. ive checked that all the info is correct but it still wont work! help?

iTunes supports two ways to associate cover art with albums:
Right-click on the album and select Get Album Artwork - if the same album is available in the iTunes Store (matched by artist + album title) the artwork will be downloaded automatically. The 'artwork could not be found' indicates either that the album you're looking at is not available in the iTunes Store, or is there with artist/title info sufficiently different from what you have to make a match possible.
Otherwise, you can use artwork from other sources (images found on the 'net, your own scans of CD covers, etc.). Right click on the album, select Get Info, then the Artwork tab. It'll look like this (iTunes 12.1):
You can then add an image in any one of three ways:
Click the Add Artwork button, navigate to and select an image file you want to add, click Open.
Drag and drop an image file from Windows Explorer to the Artwork tab
Copy the image file to the Windows clipboard, either by right-click copy on the image file, right-click copy on the image in a web browser, or copy within any graphics program, Then switch to iTunes and with the Artwork tab selected press Ctrl-V. Prior to iTunes 12 you could also right-click > Paste in this scenario, but - either by intent or as the result of an unfixed bug - this has been missing from iTunes 12.0 and 12.1.

What happens when you try to connect? Error message?

I click on any app and press "free" then "intall app" and then the "install app" button goes from green to grey like normal but then the loading circle right next to the back and forward buttons never stops and it never starts any type of download. Why is this?

Sooo basically i bought this imac on craiglist it was a 2009 and well the owner of it...didnt give me the passwords of the accounts, so i asked her by txt if she knew them and well i got no answe..go figure right? anyways i had to look up online how to factory reset it and well i found a very helpful video on youtube, and well it worked all the way up to the reinstall mac os lion which i had not purchased prev..so i called apple and they helped me buy and today i got the code and redeemed it and well i was really excited because that was the last step...until i turned on my imac..hit reinstall mac os lion, signed it, and worked and then!!! It said i would have to wait 335 hours and 53 minutes which i was like OMG how big is this file...i looked it up and well its not THAT big and well even though i left it for awhile...it didnt change...it was not downloading anything, ugh im so fustrated i dont know what to do anymore =(

How is your computer connected to the internet? Wireless? Wired?
What kind of internet service do you have where you are (cable/DSL/dialup)? If you're not sure, run a speedtest from another computer (preferably wired to your router). I use http://speedtest.net. Don't click any of the ads that claim to "Speed up your Mac". Write down and post the download and upload speeds.
Do you have an Apple Store near you? If so, you could go there to download the OS. Or find a location (an office? school?) that has faster internet.
