Why wont my ipod 4th generation not slide to unlock

why wont my ipod 4th generation bot slide to unlock

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Why won't iPod 4th Generation Click Wheel 40gb (non-photo)  charge?

I have an old but much-loved iPod 4th Generation Click Wheel 40gb (non-photo model) that I keep on a charging dock. Yesterday the screen went blank and it refuses to charge, so I assume the battery is dead.
Can anyone tell me if that's the reason?  If so, exactly what replacement battery I should get?  I've found replacement batteries listed for the iPod 4th Gen 40 GB photo and the 4th Gen 20 GB, but don't know if they'll fit.  Thanks so much for any information out there!

    hmm - curiouser and curiouser
I've now managed to get it to manually update (after iTunes took 100% of system resources and I had to force quit it...) but that still doesn't really help me with the auto-sync feature which still won't work

I doubt your iBook has 215 MB of RAM. Maybe 256 MB.
Yes you can install Leopard with only 256 MB of Rambut not iOS 7 on a 4G iPod
Leopar is the last OS for a G4 and requires 5112 MB per

  • Why does my iPod 4th generation say the certificate for this server is invalid when trying to access iTunes? I've never had an issue until this recently.

I have never had an issue until recently that won't allow me to go onto the App Store or iTunes on my iPod touch 4th gen. It says the certificate for this server is invalid. Then it says, you might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be iTunes.apple.com which could put your confidential information at risk. How can I fix this so I can access iTunes and the App Store from my iPod again?

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

  • Why does my ipod 4th generation do the oppesite of what i want it to do? like when iam listening to music the voice commend comes on without me pressing anything or it shuts me out the internet wen i am browsing the web??

my ipod is not working.it shuts me out of the internet and it starts doing things without me pressing anything. i bought the target store electronics warrenty but i haven't been able to get anything worked out. they ask me for some wierd numbers that i can not find anywhere on the ipod or warrenty..wat can i do??

Have you tried the standard fixes:
    - Reset
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restoring from backup
    - Restoring to factory defaults/new iPod
Are you using the headphone/mic?  If so sometimes sweat/moisture in the controls can make the iPod do strange things.
What number are you looking for?
If les than a year old, the Apple warranty still covers it.

  • Why does my ipod 4th generation ipod nano say there is 2.9 gbs of other on it when all that is on it is music?

My ipod was freaking out the other day saying it couldnt be found and it had an error so i told y computer to fix it. Next thing i know, 600 of my songs are gone and i have 2.9 gigs of "other" when the only thing on my ipod is music. its so old and i need to get a new one but can anyone tell me how to fix it?

Because there is a corrupt file on your Touch. Restore it in iTunes from your backup.

  • My iPod 3 Will Not Slide To Unlock.

I have Restored it. And still the Touch Screen Will not work. What should I do????

Did you try restoring it to factory settings instead of from a backup? If so, the issue is likely hardware related, meaning you'll need to have your iPod serviced.  If still under warranty, schedule an appointment at your local Apple Store/Genius Bar and see if there's anything they can do for you.

  • Ipod touch not recognised by Itunes and will not slide to unlock.

    Hi,
I got my Ipod touch 32GB 3rd gen for christmas last year, my battery ran flat some time last week. When i plugged it into my computer via USB to charge, it charged for a few minutes then stoped. When i looked and tryed to unlock the Ipod, it will not slide to unlock, same with the slide to power off, I have pushed both home and power botton to reset; both plugged into compter and not however after the reset it still will not unlock. when pluged into itunes i get a message saying it needs a full factory settings restore, i start that process, however i am shown an error message which reads "the Ipod software update server could not be contacted. An unknown error occured (1612)".
Sorry about the long post, can anyone help, has this sort of thing happened with anyone else before?
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks Alot.

  • My FaceTime won't work on my iPod 4th Generation anymore. I don't understand why. A few weeks ago, it worked perfectly fine. Then I had updated it, and it does not let me verify my email.

A few weeks ago, my iPod 4th Generation's FaceTime was working fine. Until, unfortunately, a day or two after I had updated my iPod to the new iOS 5 software, it had stopped working. I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence, but it is bugging me. I've tried signing in, and it works, but once I get to the page where I must verify or put in an email address so you may FaceTime from, I am sent back to the sign in page. I have tried numerous times to sign in different accountsI have or just use different contact email. But, if I put in ([email protected]) for a sign in, and ([email protected]) for an address it may be called from, I always end up with the popup coming up and saying "Cannot verify because it is already in use. Although, no one knows any of my emails or passwords. I only have one email registered on my brothers iPad, but i try signing out of his and disabling it, so i may use it. But it doesn't work, in the past it did, I could even use an email for 3 iPods and iPads. but not anymore. i don't know what to do. Can i please get help?
