Why wont my itunes import my tracks into my library?

I have Windows 8 and recently updated my iTunes. Yesterday I was importing Cd's normally and with no problems. Today I decided to import a Cd (brand new) and it seemed to be doing so without issues, seeing as the tracks were being imported and green 'check marks' were popping up next to each track that was successfully imported. Though when I checked my library, the tracks were no where to be found? I tried going to 'File' and 'Add file to library', proceeded to find the tracks I imported and tried adding them to my library manually... and still no luck. iTunes is acting very strange and im starting to dislike the changes they made more and more. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

FCP doesn't work with 3GPP, which is basically a cellphone compression format. FCP only works with media in the QuickTime framework. It only works with video in standard video frame resolutions, which 800x480 isn't, and with video that uses uncompressed audio, while yours is compressed.
Standard definition video is 720x480 at 29.97fps with uncompressed 48k audio in a production codec, which H.264 isn't; it should be either DV or DV50 or ProRes.

It may have been deleted. Nonetheless, you can recreate it:
    -Go into iTunes
-Click File > New Smart Playlist...
-On the first dropdown menu in the Smart playlist creator, select "Purchased"
-For the second dropdown menu, make sure "is true" is selected, thus recreating your Purchased playlist

Why can't I import old imovies into idvd?

I have 68 GB free and the movie is a small one. The iDVD file is on my hard drive and in the dock.
Today I found a work around for this problem.  While I cannot open the original movie, I can access the clips in the media folder.  I put the clips together and made a new movie.   And I can import this to iDVD by going to "share" in the menu and selecting iDVD.

Did it successfully download and install? Has it ever worked on the computer? You can remove and reinstall iTunes by following the instructions in this support document. Make sure you follow them exactly, or it will just compound your problems. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

    The two commeon reasons are:
You may be using regular sharing rather than Home Sharing.  See information here:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819
The two computers are not on the same local network, or are not both authorized to the same account.

    Hi Amitt_s,
After you restored it to factory settings, did you restore as new or from a backup?  If it was from a backup, I'd try restoring as new to see if, without any of your previous data, the issue persists:

  • When I import a folder into my library, music starts playing and I can't stop it.

So, I haven't used iTunes in years.
I'm just wondering if this is the same for everyone, of if I've just done something wrong.
Brand new install of the latest version of iTunes (11.3.1) - Open it up, use the "Import folder" option to import a folder into my library.
    It's a large (over 200gb) folder.
As it's importing, for some reason, iTunes starts to play the first few seconds of each album that gets imported.
But, because the "Importing.." dialogue window is open, I can't hit "pause" or "stop".
So, my computer is just sitting here playing the first few seconds of many many songs whilst importing. I can turn down the volume to stop it, but I'm just wondering -
Is this normal? Seems a little odd and strange.

Generally setting a common Album Artist will fix things.
For deeper problems see Grouping tracks into albums.

Select the project in the Library Inspector and export the project as library. Then import this library into your other Aperture library.

  • Why wont my iTunes download the album artwork for the cd's that I import?

I'm a new Mac owner so I may be overlooking something simple. I have imported a few CD's succesfully but when i select "Preferences" and "Get Album Artwork" a message comes up that says "Could not get album artwork". I have looked in the itunes store to see if they have the album and its there... so why wont iTunes import the artwork to the albums i have imported? Thanks!

Where else can I get this?
    On the World Wide Web!
iTunes will find the artwork if the album is available in the iTunes Store and your metadata precisely matches the Store data, in every respect (spaces, punctuation, spelling).
If iTunes does not get the art, simply use a web search to find the correct image.
To paste an image into a song file, highlight the file, use the command File > Get Info, open the Artwork tab, and drag the image into the space for art (or use Copy/Paste).

  • Can't import CD tracks into my sisters iTunes Library?

My sister recently went out and bought the Midnight Memories CD by One Direction.  Her netbook doesn't have a disc drive, so I offered to use my dad's laptop to copy the CD onto a flash drive to load into her library.  When I go to drag and drop the songs (all 18 of them), The arrow has a red cross and won't copy the songs to the library.  I tried doing it manually too, but that didn't work.  I tried it with iTunes 11 at first, figured dragging and dropping songs was a dleeted feature so I uninstalled it and installed itunes 10.7, but I'm still having the same issue.  And it's only like this with CD tracks, songs I've downloaded for her from the internet copy just fine.  Could it be an encoding error?  And if so, how can I bypass it?

Insert the flash drive into the computer and then
    import into iTunes music library
To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
