Why wont my mac remember my password for yahoo email?
It keeps giving me this pop up...
The Yahoo! IMAP server “imap.mail.yahoo.com” rejected the password for user “[email protected]”
Enter your password again or cancel.
I enter my password, click the box for it to remember in in my Keychain and ten minutes later, it pops back up.

Why not ask Yahoo tech support?

I can't remember my password for old email. new email but can't access iCloud
I can't access an old email account, the one that was used for my iCloud and now I can't gain access to iCloud for my photos with a new email. I need a solution to get full access to iCloud.

When entering password for Yahoo email acct, email has locked up. can't exit nor enter
My password had changed so when opening my email on my MAC I was asked to enter my email password. System seemed to lock up. I can't select Enter nor Cancel.
Is this something I can do to fix myself or do I need to take in to be repaired?
Thanks for any thoughts....Try simply dismissing the popup by hitting cancel and then Get Mail from the account in question.

Click the "Saved Passwords" button to view/delete saved passwords.

The sign in seal is an option you build for sign in id and password for yahoo emails. it assures authenticity. It shows up, except on firefox. I would appreciate your comments please.

For some reason or other I can't remember my password for my apple id and when I go to reset it I can't find the email they have sent me.I think they are sending it to my apple email [email protected] which I can't access as they are telling me my password is wrong and send me an email message to this email address which I cannot remember the password for. I am in a vicious circle.Support have emailed me and stated they can't change it?!
Sign in at http://icloud.com with the new ID and password and confirm that your data is still all there.
Then sign out in System Preferences>iCloud then sign back in with the new ID and password. Your data will disappear from your Mac when you sign out, but will reappear when you sign back in. -

I had firefox remember my password for a website I subscribe to. I changed the password recently and firefox won't remember the changed password.
*Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
*Highlight an entry in the drop down list
*Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.
If the name doesn't change and you only need to change (update) the stored password then fill the name in the login form and let Firefox fill the wrong password.<br />
You may have to press the Tab key to fill the password field with the old password.<br />
If you replace the wrong password with the new password then Firefox should offer to store the new password via the pop-up dialog from the key icon on the location bar (Firefox 3 versions show a bar at the top).
Use the Remember Password bookmarklet on websites that use "autocomplete=off" to prevent Firefox from saving passwords.

Verify that Firefox has stored the new password.
* Firefox > Preferences > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
If that didn't work then remove that name and password in the Password Manager. -
I just upgraded to 10.8.2 and Mail is having a problem. It won't remember my password for getting mail; but it does remember the password for sending mail, i.e., smtp. Does anyone know of a fix?
The solution surprised even me, and we've been using Macs since 1984 (still have an original 128K).
I contacted Apple support, and because we had just upgraded yesterday, clicked on the "exception" button as opposed to paying the $19.99 one-time support fee. An Apple tech called and the problem was solved in two minutes.
Somehow during the installation of OS 10.8.2 (over 10.6.x) the key chain data for my email ISP login password got corrupted. The solution was to delete both the POP mail and SMTP entries in my keychain.
Back to Mail, it asked for the POP password, I entered it and bingo, mail got busy downloading. Interestingly, the password was also entered into the SMTP panel.
