Why wont the spell check function work in a fillable form? Please help deadline looming.

Spell check wont work. Have read through various internet help solutions but no luck so far.
I have windows 7 64 bit.
The forms are on a CD-Rom (from about 10 years ago) but I have up to Adobe date software on my PC.
Edit-Preferences-Spelling shows I have English United Kingdom selected and the check box, check spelling whilst typing is ticked.
When I press F7 and start it finds nothing even though I have made deliberate mistakes to check if it's working.
Any help would really be appreciated.

It's possible the author of the file disabled the spell-checking option for this field.

  • Why is my spell checker not working in a document using Word 2003

    I have a word document in Word 2003  .   I was altering it and noticed that from page 3 to 6 the spell checker does not work.
    I transferred the pages into another another file still didn't work .  Just copied a paragraph still didn't work.  So I then started typing the rest of the document into another file and straight away it underlined my spelling mistakes in red.
    So why not in these few pages of my document.
    This is a paragraph from the pages below.  I altered some words deliberately to see if my Word 2003 would pick them up.  It didn't.

    But when I put it in here it does pick them up.  So it is something I have done .

    Hi,
    According to your description, this issue is more related to Word. The Word IT Pro Discussions forum is a better place for word questions, we will move it there for you.

  • How do I get the Spell Check to work. There is no drop down tab for spell checking in the edit tab.

    I do not have Spell Checking tab in my Edit tab. Firefox will underline a misspelled word but I can not access the spell check.
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often

    I tried doing the following: When spell-checking is enabled, you can easily correct misspelled words. To correct the misspelled word, right-clickhold down the Ctrl key while you click on it and select one of the suggested words at the top of the menu.
    Believe this is for a PC. I have a MacBook Pro laptop. What do I do.

  • Why is the spell checking grayed out in LR5.6?

    I am using LR5.6, under the Edit menu on my Mac there is a spelling and grammar option but it is greyed out in LR? How can I spell check my Book?

    Seems to be an oversight, since you can invoke spelling on most other text fields in LR (e.g. in metadata entry).  You can file a bug report at the official Adobe feedback forum: Recently active topics in Photoshop Family about Photoshop Lightroom.

  • Why is the Plugin Check function inaccurate?

    If I have updated the plugins according to what is required or stated by the Plugin Check, the plugins still appear as 'outdated' (yellow or red depending on severity) when they're not?
    I don't know what to do as all this does is to contradict everything by making me feel I'm vulnerable to malware attack.
    I think there's some disparity between the version I originally had (in this case Adobe Flash and Quicktime Player) which I updated, and the very latest version I installed which is perhaps even higher than what is registered with the Plugin Check itself. In this case the Plugin Check databases would need to be updated again.
    Please can you establish what I may be doing wrong here.
    Thanks.

    That is a bug with blocklisting plugins that has been fixed.<br />
    You can correct this issue by forcing the file blocklist.xml to update or wait until Firefox updates the file.<br />
    That update will remove the severity="0" flags in the file that cause the problem.

  • Firefox crashes when I click on the spell check function on a fanfic website

    I tried to write a review for a fanfic on TTH and accidentally clicked the check spelling button on the page, I hit the X to close it and firefox promptly crashed.
    I repeated it with random fic review pages on that site and got the same result.
    I verified it on an identically configured firefox installation on a different computer.
    no other website has elicited this reaction from firefox.

    Problematic plugins
    Depending on your browser version and OS, Firefox may hang or crash because of a problematic plugin. Visit Mozilla's Plugin Check page (using another browser If Firefox crashes at startup) and update all outdated plugins to see if that resolves the problem.

  • Why wont the After Effects Setup work??

    Hi guys,
    I keep downloading the program trial off of Adobe, and once the downloading is
    finished, I unzip the files to install the program.
    However, when i click on the setup.exe, it doesn't do a single thing,
    its like i didn't even click anything. It's very, very frustrating.
    Any help would be gladly appreciated!!

    What screen resolution do you run at? The installer is very picky and will not install on some notebooks/ netbooks just because they have too small a screen. Also make sure, you have enough free space in your user Temp directory (C:\Users\Frosttt\AppData\Roaming\Temp). The installer needs about 1GB there as well. As for the software - I'd only get rid of Acrobat, if at all. There are some known conflicts, but they appear not on all systems.

  • Why is the title on all pages of my slideshow? Please help!!

    Hello,
    I created a slideshow in IMovie with music and still photos. I just dropped it into a theme in IDVD. I would like the title to only show on the front page and it is on every picture. Also, how can I center my title? It is only left flushed. The theme (transparent black) I picked doesn't seem to have a title page. It just goes right into the slideshow.
    I have been working on this project for hours. It seems that it is much harder than it should be. My friend used her PC program and it took 10 minutes. Ugh!
    Thank you!

    I got it!

  • Linked fields not working correctly- PLEASE HELP DEADLINE LOOMING!

    I have two tables. The first is called Orders and contains a autonumber field named ID. This field is linked to a field named OrderID in another table named ProductOrders. I am using a submission form with a cfinclude to submit to both tables. There should only be one Orders.ID and numerous ProductOrders.OrderID (but they should be the same number). When I submit the form there are no error messages but the ProductOrders.OrderID is blank and therefore not linked to Orders.ID. What should I be looking for? I have linked the fields in Access in properties and relationships. What else?

    Perhaps this will help, here is my code:
    This is the input form (I stripped out the unecessary stuff and yes I realize the cfinclude appears after the submit button but it is within cfform tag and is submitting everything but the ID number):

    Do you have a dictionary installed and selected?
    * You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the Languages submenu.
    * Open the "Add Dictionaries" link to install a dictionary if you do not have one.
    * Make sure that [X] "Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu is check-marked.
    You can enable or disable spell checking globally:
    * Tools > Options > Advanced : General: Browsing: "Check my spelling as I type"
    You can look here for dictionaries:

  • Spell checker Functionality to be Implemented in a Oracle Ebiz Custom form

    Hi,
    I have tried implementing the Spell checker functionality in one of our Custom form,I used the OLE2 Built in Package in forms 6i to invoke the Spell checker functionality in Microsoft word but i am getting an error,Could anyone please help me in implementing the functionality?
    I used the following procedure to Implement the spell checker functionality in Forms 6i and registered the same in Oracle Applications 11i,
    PROCEDURE spell_check (item_name IN VARCHAR2)
    IS
    my_application   ole2.obj_type;
    my_documents     ole2.obj_type;
    my_document      ole2.obj_type;

    my_spell         ole2.obj_type;
    args             ole2.list_type;

    my_document := ole2.invoke_obj (my_documents, 'ADD');
    my_selection := ole2.get_obj_property (my_application, 'SELECTION');

    ole2.invoke (get_spell, 'CHECKSPELLING');
    ole2.invoke (my_selection, 'WholeStory');
    ole2.invoke (my_selection, 'Copy');
    spell_checked := ole2.get_char_property (my_selection, 'TEXT');
    spell_checked :=SUBSTR (REPLACE (spell_checked, CHR (13), CHR (10)),1,LENGTH (spell_checked));
    COPY (spell_checked, item_name);

    ole2.add_arg (args, 0);
    ole2.invoke (my_document, 'CLOSE', args);
    ole2.destroy_arglist (args);

    ole2.RELEASE_OBJ (my_application);
    END;
    I am getting the following error,
    *305501:non-ORACLE exception*
    I get this error exactly after the following line of the procedure,
    my_application := ole2.create_obj ('WORD.APPLICATION');
    This Spell check functionality works fine when implemented in a standalone form(When a form is ran from the Form Builder),Facing issue only when it is registered in the Oracle applications 11i.
    I searched various Forums,But i unable to find any solution,Expecting your help on the same asap.

    Hi Raja,
    Thanks for the Reply..
    Thanks a lot for your quick and efficient responses.
    But Iam unable to figure out how to implement this auto save functionality in this BSP Applicaition. If anyone has worked on this BSP Application <b>HAP_DOCUMENT</b>, can you please tell me how to do this auto save functionality. Is it possible that when I give this popup to save using java script and when the User clicks on OK, can I get the return code for this and use it to trigger the auto save functionality? And where exactly do I have to code this. Because the code here is bit confusing and the pages are called dynamically, even Iam unable to figure out the Button Id. Can anyone please help me out on this. This is a very urgent requirement.
    As specified by you, I have used this code to give the popup.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function alertUser()
    alert('Please Save the changes by clicking Save button');
    window.setInterval("alertUser()",300000);
    </script>
    Can I use the same code for save also, like this:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function autosave()
    htmlbSL(this,2,'SAVE:SAVE');
    window.setInterval("autosave()",300000);
    </script>
    I was trying with this but it is not working.

  • My spell check only works for about half of an article. Is there a way to fix this?

    When I'm on a wiki, looking at an article, I sometimes see a couple spelling errors that just bug me, so I sometimes go in and fix them. However, when I pull up the editing page, the spell check only works for about the first half of the article. I can't find the errors if they're in the second half of the article. Is there a way to fix this?

    You can try basic steps like these in case of issues with web pages:
    Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
    *Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
    Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
    *Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

  • Spell Checking only works for English after 10.4.9

    After installing and reinstalling (combo version) of 10.4.9 on my Intel MacBook Pro, the Spell Checking is working only for the English language.
    Seems that other languages are not installed (although they are at the spelling pop up). When I activate them, nothing works. No spelling as I type, no suggestions at the spelling window...
    Any one know how to reinstall only the languages?

    Nothing?

  • Spell Check Not working in Office 2013

    I can not get spell check to work at all in Outlook nor Word documents.  I need real basic instructions please.
     I tried this idea from a prior post, but there is no dictionary file to pick.  Any other ideas?
    If so, back up all these files. Add the custom dictionaries via:
    Click the
    File tab.
    Click
    Options.
    Click
    Proofing.
    Make sure the
    Suggest from main dictionary only check box is cleared.
    Click
    Custom Dictionaries.
    Click
    Add.
    Locate the folder containing the custom dictionary you want, and then double-click the dictionary file.

     I tried this idea from a prior post, but there is no dictionary file to pick.
    Are there any dictionaries listed in the Dictionary List when you click
    File > Options > Proofing > Custom Dictionaries? If so, please make sure the check boxes before these dictionaries are ticked.
    Do you mean the Spell Check not working as you type or after you click the
    Spelling & Grammar button?
    If you mean spell check not working as you type, please go to File > Options > Proofing and select the check box before "Check spelling as you type".
    If above didn't apply, please try to rename your Word template file (Normal.dotm) to Normal.old and then restart Word to check if it helps.
    In addition, we can also try to run a repair of your Office installation to check the result. See:

  • Is the spell checker a built in feature of firefox

    A spell checker is part of Firefox; a small dictionary is included in US English versions only. You can add dictionaries:
    *See --> https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/language-tools/ (access this page by clicking on "More" in the line just under "Add-ons" then choose "Dictionaries & Language Packs" on this page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ )
    *See --> http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using+the+spell+checker
