Why would Framemaker add an extra page to my document ?

Hi everyone,
I have a mif file here that is used to generate a ONE PAGE pdf and for a reason that I don't know, when I open this .MIF file in FRAMEMAKER, there is a second page using default masterpage that is automatically added by FrameMaker.
The .Mif file itself only specifies one BodyPage statement so I really don't know why FrameMaker adds an other page to the document.
So the question is : Why whould FrameMaker add a supplementary page to a document by itself ?

Thanks for the quick answer Van. I had a look to my document and it seems that the pagination is OK, I also thought that maybe I had some "TextRect" that took a little bit to much space but they seem OK too.
Now I'm trying to track every "TextFlow" to see if one of them is printing outside of my "TextRect" at the bottom of the page, that may cause FrameMaker to add a new page I guess.

Does anyone know how how to add extra pages to template documents in the new version of Pages which carry over the same formatting, borders, styles etc? In iWorks09, all styles, borders etc just used to carry over to the next page. In the new Pages, this doesn't seem to happen. Unless I'm missing something.

Why would you add Paths to a jpeg?

Hi Everyone!
I've been using Ps on and of for a few years now as a hobby so I'm somewhat able to find my way around it.
Now for the actual question:
Why would you add Paths to a jpeg?
Moreover why split it into several paths? I have a vague memory of paths beeing able to render for example a background transparent in say illustrator. Can that be it?
My reason for asking is that I work as a Digitalprinter operator and we have got a client that wants us to mask out objects in pictures and also in som cases separate them into paths.
I've scaled down the example we got from the client and added a link to it below hopfully someone can open this in Ps and explain why you would do this.

What I ment is that I can't see for example how Path 3 as shown below in white (using quick mask) would be useful in a page layout program. Because the text that you create in that program would flow around "everywhere". Or am I wrong in believing this?

To create a new page from your index, go to File > SaveAs > filename.html. Repeat for other site pages. Add links on your index page that lead to other site pages.

You can insert a page break with the Insert (menu) > Page Break.
Note if your typing overflows the first page, then a new page is automatically created.

How to remove extra pages in numbers document?

It used to be, when creating a spreadsheet, you could begin with "Page View" so that one has parameters so as not to create extra pages in the document. In using the latest version, I'm not seeing this. Result: I have 4 pages to my spreadsheet, but I only want the first page. I can print just the first page, but when I send the document, all 4 are sent. The receiver ends up with a document out of sync!

Print Booklet issues: indd adds very unnecessary pages to my document when I try to "print booklet"?

I have no idea why this is happening, but it is driving me batty and makes zero sense and I need
I had a 30+ page document that was correctly booklet printing and added chapter start pages through the doc. I did not renumber or start sections on these when adding them, they are in the same section as most of the pages... Basically the document goes like this:
Front Cover -- Page A (recto)
Blank -- Page B (verso)
TOC -- Page 1 (recto)
etc... etc...
Back Cover -- Page 52 (verso)
Suddenly, for some unknown reason that I have not been able to figure out, indesign has now decided that the front cover/back cover printer spread isn't that any longer. It prints a blank page on the printer spread for the front cover (keeping the cover page recto) and the back cover prints in a printer spread beside page 1. It being a function of the sectioning seems the likely culprit, but that sectioning hasn't changed from when I was printing it without the new added pages. I can't start the book pagination until the TOC (page 1), so it has to remain, as well...
Anybody have any ideas? Is there any way to force indd to not add these unnecessary pages? I have unchecked print blank pages and print blank spreads in all the print dialogues and also tried the opposite.

You need to include blank pages. I've never ever used Print Booklet (my experience is firmly rooted in traditional offset printing so I find ID's booklet option ... "a nice cutesy try") but I imagine Print Blank Spreads may also be necessary. However, it should be very unusual to have entire spreads blank.
From your story it's not really clear how many pages (including cover etc.) you have. If it's not a multiple of 4, InDesign will ALWAYS pad it with blank pages. That is the only way to print as booklet.

I have a problem after i updated Pages to the new one (5.0 (1465)). I'm not able to add a template page (for exemple chapter page or photo page or so on), while i'm writing my document. How can i do it ?
(For example with Keynote i have only to click on "+" in the left bottom corner, and i can choose wich slide i want).

Here is soem of the text you get from the search add custom template.
Save a document as a template
Choose File > Save as Template (the File menu is at the top of your computer screen).
Click one of the options:
Add to Template Chooser: Type a name for the template, then press Return. Your template appears in the My Templates category in the template chooser.
Save As: Type a name for the template, then choose where you want to save it.

How do I make sure AddInstance adds the extra pages in the order I want?

My project is nearly complete. All thats left is to get the add instance button at the bottom of the second page to function in the way I want. Currently it's set on click with the following script.
statcardform.frontpage.instanceManager.addInstance(1);
statcardform.backpage.instanceManager.addInstance(1);
When I click the button it adds a copy of the frontpage after the original frontpage, and a copy of the backpage after the original backpage. This is not what I had in mind. I need it to keep each front and backpage together, and add each repeated front and back page after the backpage so if you were to click the button multiple times you would get several copys of the same two page form.

The binding tab for each page is set to "Repeat Subform for each Data Item" and an initial count of "1" with no minimum and no maximum.

Why not wrap the front and back page into another subform (I will call it doc). Then you woudl only have to repeat doc.

**SOLVED** TrueCrypt - Why would you add it to startup script?

This might be a stupid question, but...
I read the wiki entry on TrueCrypt (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/TrueCrypt). I'm assuming the use-case for TrueCrypt would be if someone management to get hold of the hard-disk, the contents would be encrypted, so they stil couldn't be read?
However the tutorial mentions you can add the mount procedure to your startup scripts so it will auto-mount if the machine is rebooted.
My question is; if someone has your hard disk (say they plugged it in as a second drive on their laptop, which they did have root access to); wouldn't they be able to read the startup script file and then they would know the password to decrypt the fs?
Am I missing something..? :S

that is true, but if your password is actually a keyfile, and that keyfile is stored on a usb, whenever you boot up with the usb connected, you can automout your encrypted volume.
this is also a matter of comfort vs security, since if you believe your machine can be compromised, you can remove it from begin auto mounted or leave it when you know your system is currently safe.

Why does fireworks add and extra quote on exporting html and images... looks like this ----- align=""left"

I had this issue on previous versions of Fireworks.
Why is it happening? Is there a glitch in the software? I thought it would be fixed in the CC version..
here is a snippet of code that is exported.

Basically where ever there is a align="left" it is exported as align=""left"
This leaves me to do a find and replace to fix the code. Kind of annoying.
Personally I thought this would of been fixed in this version.
Please advise and how to fix this and prevent it from happening.

The "Add" button is greyed out and cannot be used. Plus if I get an invite I cannot accept it. I've tried resetting the phone, closing waiting and reopening the app, and checking all settings to find something that would stop this. Nothing so far has worked.

I couldn't agree more. There needs to be iMessage/message integration with iPhoto. I want to be able to share an iPhoto pic via iMessage! Also I feel the same way about iPhoto replacing the camera app/roll. Needs to be one location to edit photos and store them so we can eliminate duplicates, ect.

Why did it add an extra pixel to my jpg?

I recently designed some ads in Indesign CS6 which I then exported to jpg format. When I sent them to the publishing house they could not be uploaded onto their system because the size was not correct although in indesign the size of the document was the correct pixel size.
In opening them in Photoshop CC I could see a single pixle had been added to the width and this was stopping it from going through the publishing houses online system.
Has this happened to anyone else before? Is it a common export problem or is this something I did wrong and maybe should have expected it to happen?
Just want to know if I need to be checking every file in photoshop in the future!

When you exported to JPEG did you select the "Export Selection" or the "Export Page" option?
What I do with InDesign for web images is I export to PDF first.
Then I open that in Photoshop - you can elect the size of the image to crop to and the resolution.
Then save from there.
I have never liked InDesigns export of jpegs, they come out horrible in my opinion.

Why can't I access my Page 5.1 document on iCloud?

I have been saving this one doc on iCould for weeks. Then this morning I started getting a message telling me this document can't be opened. Any ideas why or how I can get around this? I even moved this document from iCloud "on my Mac". Same thing. Suddenly I've been denied access to this one document. Has this happened to any of you using Page 5.1 and iCloud?

Ok, so I get why Exchange isn't showing up on iCloud and MacBook. No worries there.
But for Home, it shows on my phone that it is under iCloud.... am I wrong? (see image)
There is nothing on my Gmail Calendar, so it's not that.
If I'm wrong, what do I need to do to activate it? Or can I copy it over to an iCloud calendar?
I'm usually pretty savvy when it comes to tech stuff, so I'm not sure why I'm having so much trouble with this.
