Why "Wrong Recovery Key" When Generated By Firefox When Trying To Sync "Without A Device" After Original Computer Crash

My computer crashed and for reasons unknown to me, Mozy didn't back up my Mozilla Firefox files, which I realize are hidden but are no where to be found on Mozy's backup. All I have is my iphone that does have Firefox on it and a new computer. However, the iphone will not sync with the new computer in "discovery mode". And, when I try to perform a sync on the new computer, with a new download of Firefox, clicking "without a device", it generates a recovery key which it in turn rejects as invalid - over and over. Please advise. Also, will an iphone sync with a computer and/or generate a recovery key? My iphone Firefox app doesn't seem to have the capability - anywhere to be found - to generate such a key. Is there any way to copy the bookmarks from the phone to the computer? Lastly, still another mystery, my Firefox account has an old email address, that I need to change, but I have no earthly idea of how to do that either.

Thanks for trying to help, but I have an iphone and not an Android. When in blue tooth mode and now discoverable, it won't discover. Other than discover, to my knowledge, there is no sync button on the iphone app.

  • TS4062 new iphone lists wrong phone number when trying to sync with itunes

I received my new iphone 4s in the mail and when I try adding it to my itunes for syncing the wrong phone number shows up. The phone works and the number is correct but the one Itunes recognizes is a different number.

I received the phone by mail. I had ATT activate it with my old phone number I had on a blackberry. Everything works fine. The number under settings>phone> my number is the correct phone number.
It's when I try to add this phone to Itunes with a USB cable,  itunes recognizes a different number. So i'm guessing the sim came with that number and when ATT activated the phone with my correct number, that this number is still in the phone memory somehow.
At ATT they say the phone is fine. My new number is recognized and works properly. It's just that when adding it to my itunes the new number is not recognized on the initial setup screen.
I'm not even sure this matters but itunes recognizes this phone with a different number than the one that works.

  • When trying to sync my phone with my computer it's telling me to "restore". Why and what will happen if I do?

When trying to sync my iphone 4s to my computer it say it doesn't read it anylonger and I need to restore. What will happen if I do that? Will I lose my apps and need to replace all my music?

It will restore you phone as a new device.   If you have a backup of your phone you can restore to that.
YOur apps and music you can always sync back using iTunes.

  • ITunes crashing when trying to sync books from iPad

When trying to sync books from iPad to iTunes, iTunes crashes causing Microsoft error message. Any ideas?

There may be a corrupted video or image file on your iPad.
Try to download from the iPad using Image Capture instead and save the photos to a folder. If that succeeds, you can check the files for corruption before importing them to iPhoto.

  • Getting a error -4 when trying to sync

getting a error -4 when trying to sync Ipad to PC after upgrade to 5.0.1

I have the same issue and I believe we need to upgrade to a newer OS X.  I currently have OS X Leopard 10.5.8 and I purchased OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 for $19.99 so that I can install iTunes 11.1.  This will hopefully allow me to eliminate the error and sync the iTunes from my iPhone 4s and Mac Book.
iTunes 11.1 requires an OS X of at least 10.6

  • Sync has stopped working: Wrong Recovery Key

I use firefox sync, it was going ok for months (since I started using it anyway - when FF got that new interface),
now suddenly I keep seeing an error message about a "Wrong Recovery Key".
How can I fix this problem, I have done nothing to change any key. Why has it suddenly stopped working?

    Hey Coxy!
I got a answer. :) You are not the only one to have seen this error.
    '''Reply from Sync developer:'''
We've seen occasional instances of this in the past; things they can try in increasing order of brutality:
    1) Disconnect from sync and re-connect
    2) Go through the password reset flow on their FxA account
    3) Delete and re-create their FxA account
Hopefully the first will resolve it.
For the first one, you will need to go into the Sync preferences area of Firefox and click a "Disconnect" button. Then I believe the button will change to "Connect" or "Reconnect". Maybe wait a minute after disconnecting to give Sync time to do it properly then press the connect/reconnect button.
Let me know whatever ends up fixing the problem for you.

  • HT201269 why is it that when trying to use a back up of my old iphone i click on devices and the options are all frey scaled? I cannot access the restore and back upo options

why is it that when trying to use a back up of my old iphone i click on devices and the options are all frey scaled? I cannot access the restore and back upo options

Let me start with the general advise...
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

  • ITunes has stopped working error message on my Dell Latitude E6520 when trying to sync photos to my iPhone 3GS.  Why?!

For some reason, I keep getting the "iTunes has stopped working" error message on my Dell Latitude E6520 when trying to sync photos to my iPhone 3GS.  I am using Windows 7 on my 64-bit computer.  iTunes will begin to optimize the photos in the folder I have directed it to (I am trying to load almost 3000 photos and videos), and it will go through optimizing all of them singularly, then get to the step where it says "optimizing" again, but does so in bigger groups.  It will get to about 2000, and then the error message "iTunes has stopped working" will pop up, and say that "Windows must close the program and will search for a solution, and if it finds one, it will notify me".  Why can't I sync these photos, and what can I do?  Thanks so much for the help, I really appreciate it!

Same problem here! Moreover, for some reason, the pictures in my iPhone 3GS somehow have been divided into 2 folders, Photos and Medialibrary. And when I open iPhone as a folder through the explorer I can see only the Photos folder, but cannot see the Medialibrary folder which stores the photos taken before updating/upgrading the iPhone and getting separated folders!!! What the hack with all of this?!!! When I connect iPhone to PC it automatically opens iTunes and starts syncronizing it, but at the process of OPTIMIZING the photos (and according to the number of photos it shows, I see that it tries to syncronize that invisible Medialibrary folder) the process suddenly stops and error message pops out Tried the sync test, tried the button DEBUG in that pop out message, but NOTHING HELPS!!! Also, when I open the Medialibrary in my iPhone, the screen get sblack all through scrolling it down, only the video clips are shown there... >.<
So, could you, apple developers, please, explain WHAT THIS PROBLEM IS ABOUT?!!!!!! FIX IT! I am getting ****** of to spend hours at the computer and reading those lame advises which do not help at all! I have my own things to do except reading your support websites. And I payed for the product ready to use, but not a halfproduct which problems should further be solved somehow by users..
