Why WRT54G ver 7 blocks all UDP broadcasts?

My WRT54G seems to be blocking all UDP broadcasts in the intranet side. Is there an option somewhere, which controls this behaviour, because I have not found one.
It does not matter, if I connect my laptop with a cable or by WLAN, no UDP broadcast packets from my server to the laptop go through.
If I connect to either one of my regular switches, UDP broadcast works perfectly.
Note that I'm not using the WAN port at all, so I would expect no filtering on the traffic.

Interesting!
For sake of argument, can you try using the broadcast address of 255.255.255.255 - this is a limited (local network only) broadcast.
Can you see the MAC (layer 2/ethernet) portion with your tool?
The MAC of the destination needs to be all FFs (all ones) for broadcasts.
I am wondering if something is happening at a lower level - like in how switching is implemented in the linksys.  I wonder if a linksys switch (only) also does this.
NOTE - ICMP echo (PINGS) do go through my WRV54G to specific addresses and broacdcast the x.x.x.255 addresses.

  • WRT610N Configuration: blocking all UDP connections

     Hi all,
    I am the disapointed owner of the WRT610N. I previously had a buffalo N routeur in the UK, which had no firmware update in 9 months, and plenty of spelling mistakes and problems (router hanging, needed to reset). I managed to refund it and I paid nearly 200 pounds for that WRT610n.
    I can see the potential of such router, but with that price range and the many problems, it is a complete failure. I noticed many people complaining exactly the same way about that router, which is simply too expensive for the amount of problems it is encountering.
    This is not about blindly giving a critic about that router which certainly has some strenghts and potential, but it has been overpriced for the problems in progress. It looks like a "beta".
    The latest firmware (1.10?) released early 2009 has corrected a few problems (ftp and USB stick works better, the "wifi protected setup" does turn off properly in 2.4ghz mode, etc...) but still some remains such as that "wifi protected setup" from hell that keep asking me the code on the 5GHZ frequency when I use my intel 4965agn with it, even when I turned that feature off in the router config.
    Anyway my current "problem" is I want to block the flatmate from using all UDP connections, simply because she floods the network with that.
    But it does not seems to works at all: I went to access restriction, created and enabled one entry with her IP.
    Then, I created an application name (blockUDP) and port 1 to 59 999, then I added it to the right side (Blocked List).
    It does not seems to work as when I run a "wireshark" I can still see packets coming in/out of that IP address.
    Ideally i would also like her to use only basic internet (port 80) because she keeps downloading/uploading with no limits, and telling her to stop does not make her change. She pretends being not guilty and show advance signs of retardness. For example, we all complained about downloading, and this person gave the wireless password to her friends leaving nearby... Of course they are now blocked, password changed and she will never have it but...
    I understood to block from all (TCP, UDP...) from "1 to 79" and from "81 to 59999": Again it does not seems to work as in wireshark I see traffic.
    She only have 1 "nic", the wired cable. No wireless.
    Thanks in advance!

    To accomplish what you need will take more than this router can offer. I would recommned you use the QOS feature and make her last place even to ping another note to keep in mind is you might want to set her up on a static ip.
    Under Access restrictions is where i would be lookin to accomplish what you need. Just a little advice if you want her to have just port 80 access and possibly 443 if she access her email online most are secured.
    Now make sure the policy is enabled and also make sure that the spi firewall is enabled under the security tab. Also she might be running P2P software since i am not aware of to many desktop apps that use UDP as a protocol
    Also almost forgot to mention is wireshark will see all traffic originating internally so if her computer is broadcasting wireswhark will see it, what you need to pay attention too is if the router is actually forwarding her traffic threw it's WAN interface.

  • WRT54G ver 5.0 Blocked from secured sites

    We have the WRT54G ver 5.0.  As of Tuesday night we have been blocked from all secure web pages.  Has anyone heard of a fix for this?  I updated to the internet explore 7 on 1/2/07.  The problem seems very new.

    Hi…
    First thing make sure u have the latest firmware on your router. Change the MTU of the router to 1300. And also forward the ports 443 to  447 for your router.

  • Why there is no update for WRT54G Ver 7?

    Why there is no update for WRT54G Ver 7? I can only see Ver 1, 1.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8

    hi  Gavlin:
    You would downknow the firmware of wrt54g v7 at the www.linksys.com.cn ,this is the chinese web .

  • WRT54G(ver.6) not broadcasting internet signal anymore.

    I've been using my router (WRT54G ver.6) for almost 2 years now with only a few minor hiccups along the way. Just recently the router won't send the internet signal anymore. I can still connect to the wireless network and use the printer, which is connected to port 1.
    Connected computer directly to the cable modem - Internet works fine.
    Wired modem to router then wired modem to computer(tried all ports) - still no internet.
    Checked all my cables - they're fine.
    All the lights on the router are responding appropriately. I now know that the problem is only the wireless router.
    I've tried practically EVERYTHING!!; holding the reset button for 30secs - 2mins, unplugging the router for days on end, upgrading then downgrading then upgrading firmwares again, jumping on one leg while holding my breath, and all different combinations in between!!!
    I have the latest firmware and even tried using a previous firmware but still no go.
    Also tried the "Mac Address Clone" and still didn't have IS/subnet numbers for the internet under the "Status" tab. (I don't know if I ever had numbers there).
    My ISP is Comcast.
    I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

    Configuration for cable connection:-
    Before doing the following steps, you have to connect the modem to the
    router's Internet Port and the computer to the Ethernet Port Number 1.
    Step 01 : - Reset the router
    1. Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds.
    2. Then, unplug the power keep holding down the reset button for
    another 30 Seconds.
    3. Plug back the power back in, and keep holding down the reset button
    for 30 Seconds.
    4. Release the reset button.
    Step 02 : To Configure the router for Wired Connection.
    Please access the setup page of the router by launching an Internet
    Explorer and type on the address bar, 192.168.1.1 and press enter. When
    it prompts for the username and password, leave the username field
    empty and provide password as “admin "" all in lower cases and then
    click on ok.
    On the main setup page the ""Internet Connection Type"" should be
    on ""Obtain IP Automatically - DHCP “. Click on the Save Settings
    button.
    Now click on the sub tab ""MAC address clone"".
    - Click on enable
    - Click on clone your PC's MAC button and then click on the Save
    Settings button.

  • WRT54G Ver 6 Issues

    Hi
    I hope this helps people.  I am extremely disappointed with Linksys support.  I have talked to at least 6 support people for a least 1 hour each without a resolution to a simple problem.  My problem is that I can not get onto the internet with my access points(WAP54G .ver 3.1)using WPA security with WRT54GS ver 3.  I decided to do my own testing since Linksys did not.  I configured my WRTGS with no security.  I used my ssid, channel, broadcast ssid turned on.  I configured my WAP54G exactly the same.  I was able to ping the WAP54G with no problem.  My next test was to test WEP security.  The only changes I made were the exncryption to 128 bit with a code on both the WRT54GS and WAP54G.  I was able to ping it with no problem.  Since I needed more security for my house since the houses are almost right on top of each other, with many people using wireless in their homes, I changed my security to WPA Personal.  I changed the code and of course saved all of the changes, like I did previously.  I tried to ping the the WAP54G.  I couldn't ping it to save my life.  I figured that the hardware was up to date on the WRT54GS ver 3 so I purchased a new WRT54G ver 6 router thinking that this will support WPA Personal. (I already knew that WPA Personall worked on that Router with version 1.01 of the firmware.)
    I noticed on the Linksys website that there was a new firmware for the router which is version 1.02.  I had to update the firmware on my router since the version that was on it was 1.00.52.  My firware is now 1.02. I started the same tests I performed on the WRT54GS ver 3.  I turned off security on both the WAP54G & WRT54G.  I tried to ping the WAP54G.  I could not do it.  Now I know the WAP54G worked because I proved it earlier.  I reported the problem to Linksys and asked to talk to a supervisor.  I never received a call back from her.  This is the lousiest support I have ever expereinced.  I explained to tech support that the WAP54G's are no use to me since I can't talk to them with this router using WPA security or anything else.  It was extremely frustrating dealing with their technical support.  This is suppose to be a simple setup that should take about 5-10 minutes.  Instead it has cost me days of calling them and many hours, trying to figure why it did not work with absolutely no help from them.  Does anyone have any good suggestions?
    I would like to get a hold of firmware 1.01 because I know that works.  Thanks
    Scot

    Hi,
       This is an update to my first post.  I was correct that ver 1.02 of the firmware for the WRT54G ver 6 of the router has some problems with it.  It does not allow you to use WPA encryption.  Version 1.01 of the firmware does allow you to use the WPA encryption.  Hopefully Linksys will fix this problem.  I will continue to use 1.01 until this is fixed.

  • Unable to receive UDP broadcast packets on PPP connection

    I am struggling for two days now with no success. I have two modems (do not ask, some special stuff), that uses dial up (PPP) connection. I tried this on windows XP and it works like a charm. I am sending unicast and broadcast UPD packets. If I
    repeat that on Windows 7 i can send only unicast data, broadcast packets seems to be lost somewhere. I tried to use Microsoft Network Monitor and I can see that broadcasted packets are being received on my PPP connection. But after that, they are gone. Somewhere
    in the kernel. I truly do not understand why. I disabled firewall, antivirus, base filtering engine, tried to log dropped packed in Windows
    Filtering Platform, tried clean WIN7 machine and all that with no success.

    Hi,
    From your description, you may gather the network monitor traces to ensure which part lost UDP broadcast packets.
    Thank you.

  • Step by step complete setup for WRT54G ver.6 with Laptop and XBOX 360

    Hello.  I am sorry to post this, I am sure it is a juevenile and redundent question...but I have tried to look for the set up cd (I can find where to download it...though I can find the firmware upgrade or whatever).  My friend at work said it would do all the setup pretty much automatically for me.
    I somewhat know computers, but you might go ahead and make your replies VERY lamen's terms or I might not be able to follow.  Anyways, what I need, is a step by step/screen by screen directions for a secure network.  I have made a partial attempt at setting it up and it technically works, but I would feel better if I did the steps a-z in order, so I know that it is done correctly.  I also am not totally confident in its security as it is now.  (Also, technically, I did not check the XBOX again after getting the new laptop, I am just assuming it is still working because it was before).
    My problem is I can't seem to find very good directions for setting up the router...I only find partials or confusing directions.
    So here are the things I am trying to connect:
    Liksys WRT54G ver. 6
    Gateway Laptop running Windows Vista
    XBOX 360 - WIRED
    (I had a PC and a laptop, but they both died at the same time and I have only been able to replace the laptop at this point...the PC will come later and not sure at this point if it will be Wired or not).
    I have a cable Modem between the Router and the wall...I didn't look at that for brand/etc...but I can get it ASAP if needed.
    Here are the settings that I have so far:
    Changed the Router Name
    Changed the SSID
    Have DHCP set to 3  (XBOX, PC, Laptop)
    Wireless SSID Broadcast: Disable
    Username and Password changed to my own info
    UPnP: Enable
    I may have changed other things without knowing it.  So like I said, a complete, step by step screen by screen set up would be totally appreciated.  I haven't done anything in the security tab, all that is totally foreign to me, so I am just not broadcasting for now until I can get some help setting things up with you guys.
    And if someone is familiar with the Laptop/XBOX 360 setup, and I need to change any of the settings on the XBOX itself, could you please include that in your directions?  I know that isn't technically what THIS forum is for, but it would sure be helpful to me if you happen to know both parts anyways.
    Thanks a lot (in advance)!

    So all you just need to do is, secure your Wireless Network. Follow the setps bellow and change the settings on your Router.
    Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop).In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
    For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
    - Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
    - Set the Wireless channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
    Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
    Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
    Change the Wireless security mode to WPA, For Encryption, select TKIP...For Passphrase input your desired WPA Key. For example , MySecretKey , This will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone and remember the key.
    NOTE : Passphrase should be more that 8 characters...
    Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...
    Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
    Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
    Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • UDP broadcast over multinetted VLAN

    We're having an issue with UDP broadcast over a VLAN that has three IP's configured on it.  This is on a Cat 6509.
    interface Vlan11
    description ZZZZ
    ip address 10.10.249.1 255.255.255.0 secondary
    ip address 10.10.250.1 255.255.255.0 secondary
    ip address 192.168.101.1 255.255.255.0
    no ip redirects
    ip pim sparse-mode
    The device broadcasting is 192.168.101.34.
    We've added the global config:
    ip forward-protocol udp 4444
    And we've tried interface commands like:
    ip helper-address 192.168.101.34
    and
    ip directed broadcast
    Nothing seems to help, though.  Are there any inherit limitations due to the multinet?  Devices on the 192.168.101.0/24 subnet receive the broadcast fine.  Devices on the other two subnets do not.  Basic routing between all subnets is fine.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi John,
    If you're running 2008R2 DHCP, you can fix the DHCP issue that you're having by configuring a DHCP super scope on the DHCP server.  We ran into that problem too and managed to get DHCP working on all three subnets.  I know it works on 2008R2 but not sure on other versions.
    We're mandated to get off the 192.168.101.0 subnet; so, if we can't get it working this way we may need to do a complete cutover including re-IP-ing all devices involved in this dilemma.  It's more complicated than I'm stating as this is basically a troubleshooting step to see why it broke.  There's an application server involved, an audio streaming server, and some Barix devices.  We're attempting to get all the workstations cutover first when we ran into this issue.
    Thank you,
    Joe

  • Using UDP broadcast instead of UDP multicast on a LAN (multicast not working on a major UK ISP router)

    I've built an Android app using Cirrus  that allows users on a LAN to chat in Morse code! - You can find it on the Android Market by searching for 'Morse Intercom'.
    It works fine on my network, lots of other networks, but not on probably the most popular fast broadband fibre network in the UK
    A friend of mine has let me piggyback on her network from this provider, and the problem appears to be that the UDP multicast packets RTMFP transmits just aren't being put on the wireless network. FYI the multicast address I use is IP 225.226.227.1 port 32112 .
    This is probably fixable in the router, but 99.5% of users will never mess around with the router (and why should they), and if possible I would like to fix this in RTMFP.
    Is it possible for me to ask RTMFP to not use UDP multicast, but instead to use UDB broadcast for discovering peers on the LAN ? The problematical router (and all others?) supports UDP broadcasting.
    I tried setting 'groupspec.ipMulticastMemberUpdatesEnabled = false;' but this just stopped the app working on anything! What is the purpose of this option?
    FYI:
    To connect without using Cirrus server assistance I use: nc.connect("rtmfp:");
    The complete function I use for setting up multicasting is:
    private function setupGroup():void
    // Create a new Group Specifier object
    //trace("setUpGroup: groupSpec = new GroupSpecifier('myGroup/groupA')");
    trace("setUpGroup: groupSpec = new GroupSpecifier('" + MY_UNIQUE_GROUP_NAME + "')");
    var groupspec:GroupSpecifier = new GroupSpecifier(MY_UNIQUE_GROUP_NAME);
    // Enable posting
    trace("setUpGroup: groupspec.postingEnabled = true");
    groupspec.postingEnabled = true;
    // Specifies whether information about group membership can be exchanged on IP multicast sockets
    trace("setUpGroup: groupspec.ipMulticastMemberUpdatesEnabled = true");
    groupspec.ipMulticastMemberUpdatesEnabled = true;
    // Causes the associated NetStream or NetGroup to join the specified IP multicast group and listen to the specified UDP port.
    //trace("setUpGroup: groupspec.addIPMulticastAddress('225.225.0.1:30000')");
    trace("setUpGroup: groupspec.addIPMulticastAddress('" + MY_MULTICAST_ADDRESS + "')");
    groupspec.addIPMulticastAddress(MY_MULTICAST_ADDRESS);
    // Constructs a NetGroup on the specified NetConnection object and joins it to the group specified by groupspec.
    trace("setUpGroup: group = new NetGroup(nc,groupspec.groupspecWithAuthorizations())");
    group = new NetGroup(nc,groupspec.groupspecWithAuthorizations());
    // Set the NET_STATUS event listener
    trace("setUpGroup: group.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS,netStatus)");
    group.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS,netStatus);
    In conclusion - On a LAN with up to 250 or so hosts, I can't see why RTMFP shouldn't be able to use UDP broadcasting as an alternative to UDP Multicasting. Can it, and if so how?
    Graham

    Here's more information...
    When trying to connect with a 3rd party product, the connection request is sent out to my ISP's DNS server with details of the service ID. Of course it won't find anything there.
    So then is tries to use NBNS (Netbios Naming Service) on 192.168.1.255, and still can't connect. Then comes back with a TNS error. i tried TNSPING on this address, and it doesn't find it. I have no clue where it gets this address from.
    WHY WON'T IT JUST CONNECT TO THE HOST MACHINE AS DEFINED IN THE TNSNAMES FILE???
    PLEASE HELP!!!!

  • WRT54GS ver. 6 keeps dropping hardwired connection

    Hello all,
    I have a Windows XP desktop currently hardwired to a WRT54GS ver. 6 (with latest firmware v1.52.2) router. The modem that my router is connected to is a Motorola SBV5220 cable modem by Comcast. Listed below are my current router settings:
    Firmware Version: v1.52.2, Jun. 7, 2007
    Router Name: WRT54GS
    Login Type: Automatic Configuration - DHCP
    DHCP Server: Enable
    Mode: Mixed 11/54Mbps
    Channel: 11
    Encryption Function: Enable
    For some reason if I leave my computer on for an hour or longer, I'll notice that my connection speed will drop significantly or won't connect at all. When I check the status from the Easylink software and from Local Area Connection in Windows, the status says "connected". When I try opening a webpage, all I get are timeout errors. Also, when I hardwire directly to my modem, there are no problems. The only thing that seems to fix the problem is by power cycling my router.
    I've already spoken to Linksys support about this issue 3 times to no avail. They've already sent me a replacement router which is having the same problem, so I know it's not a defective router. Having to unplug/plug the power cord from my router every time I notice the connection drops is unacceptable.
    Hopefully many of you have experienced the same problem, and know of a fix. If this is the case, please take a look at the troubleshooting steps I've performed below and let me know if there's anything I could have missed.
    From router setup page:
    -Manually set MTU to 1464
    -Enabled MAC Address cloning
    -Unchecked "Block Anonymous Internet Requests"
    -Tried setting wireless channel to both 1 and 11
    In Windows XP:
    -Tried ipconfig/release & renew
    -Tried disabling/re-enabling/repairing Local Area Connection
    -Went to Local Area Connection properties and confirmed that I am not using a static IP
    -Went to control panel>power options>set "turn off hard disks" to "never"
    -Went to device manager>network adapters>properties (for Broadcom ethernet adapter)>power management>unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
    -Confirmed that all network adapter drivers are up to date (via windows)
    -Cleared all IE and Firefox cache
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Now that you've received a new router, you can rule out any router issues. I would advise that you reset it to factory defaults, including the MTU. Might as well start from a known baseline rather than have custom settings that make comparisons to other systems impossible.
    Have you contacted Comcast about the modem or do you own the modem? If you're leasing it, get on their case and try a new modem. If not, pick up a new one. Try my next suggestion first, though.
    Are there any other machines on your network? Are they having the same issue? If you don't have another machine, is there someone you could ask to bring their machine to you house, hook it up via cable and see what happens? It would be best if that test machine is using a similar setup - cable internet, router, Windows XP, etc.
    Are you using the wireless function? Do you have any wireless clients that experience the same issue? Does your XP desktop have an active wireless card in it?
    You could have a Windows config issue, but that is beyond the scope of this message. But, check one thing - in your router there should be DNS settings provided by Comcast. If you know how to get into your PCs network (TCP/IP) settings, your DNS setting should be your router's IP address. Having two sets of DNS entries can cause problems, but in my experience, that happens immediately.
    Finally, make sure all your cables are in working condition. Don't make any assumptions - new ones can be damaged or incorrectly manufactured.
    I'd be curious to know how you do with this. Please post anything you find out.

  • F110 Blocking all Invoices on a Vendor due to one Un-released PO.

    Hi All,
    We are implementing Vendor Downpayment functionality. I have done all the configuration and we did not activate the business object LOG_MMFI_P2P. We are just using the conventional Vendor Downpayment functionality. We get POs created from SRM. I am getting an error message when I am trying to run Payment run for a vendor for which I have created multiple PO's. Few PO's have Down Payment requests and few do not have. For one PO I created an invoice twice the amount of PO amount, so it went on unreleased status in SRM. Then when I ran the Payment run F110 for that vendor, the payment run is blocking all the other Invoices as well even though they are for different PO's.
    Here is what I did
    1) Created a PO for $100 from SRM
    2) Created a Down Payment request of 50$ for that PO in F-47 and did not process the down payment. Now I processed MIGO for 100$, then created an invocie for 100$. Now i have created another invoice for $100 and posted that invoice. It went on payment block and i released the Payment block for that invoice in MRBR. Since the invoice amount is greater than PO amount in SRM the PO went on un released status and same in SAP as well.
    3) Parallely I have created few other PO's and Invoices for the same vendor without any down payment requests.
    4) Now when I ran F110 for this vendor, due to the unrelased status of one single PO, all other invoices are getting blocked in F110 run. I am not sure why is this happening, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    The errors I am getting are
    Purchasing document XXXX not yet released
    Purchase order XXXXX (assigned to an account) not permitted
    Information re. vendor XXXX/ paying company code XXX...

    Hi Ramesh,
    Strange error..
    anyways, you have option in Payment Tab to Individual Payment. This will consider each individual posting a separate payment.
    Thanks,

  • WRT54G ver. 6 can no longer connect to the internet after reset

    I reset my WRT54G ver. 6 to clear the password, and now I can no longer connect to the internet with it. I can see the router itself from my PC, but that is all. I've followed the directions here for connection problems, but I can't seem to get an IP Address for it in the Web Configuration tool. Anybody have any thoughts?

    Since you reset your router, you need to reconfigure it back again. try the online utility that automates the configuration. download Easy Link Connect utility at www.linksys.com/connect then download "Netset" and follow instructions.
    if not Easy Link connect didnt work then you need to do the configuration manually.
    1. check physical connection modem should be connected wired to internet port of the router then PC to numbered ports of the router.
    2. Brighthouse i believe is cable connection, right? try power cycle your devices (turn off modem and router then turn on modem 1st then router next). check if your online.
    3. if not. check PC ip. click "start" then "run" type in "cmd" then press "OK". the command prompt should pop-up. type "ipconfig" and check IP and gateway. you should be getting an ip: 192.168.1.x and gateway: 192.168.1.1
    4. access router. open IE, then type in http://192.168.1.1 on address bar.
    5. you will be prompted with username and PW. "admin" is the default password. on setup, just below are subtabs. select "MAC address clone". in it, set "mac clone" to "enable" then click on "clone" then "save settings".
    6. power cycle devices again. try to go online
    note: if you dont have latest firmware. try updating if needed

  • Why is apple blocking downgrade for iphone 4 and why apple is selling defective apps??????

    First thing i cant downgrade from ios4.3.4 to 4.3.3 why? secondly, why do there are defective apps in itunes store? and will my money will be refunded or not? why cant we try products for some hours to make a buying decision? there are thousands of questions unanswered, i just have device with me and apple is remotely controlling it, why are u blocking users freedom?????

    First thing i cant downgrade from ios4.3.4 to 4.3.3 why?
    Because doing so is not supported - primariy since the iPhone's baseband is often updated or changed with a firmware update. Since 4.3.4 addressed a potential security issue involving the download of a PDF document from a nefarious website, what is the reason for wanting to downgrade to 4.3.3?
    secondly, why do there are defective apps in itunes store?
    Because Apple doesn't do extensive testing with every single app. Apple primarily checks apps not accessing any private iPhone API's for security reasons, apps do not violate Apple's terms of use for the app store, and the app does what is says it does - based on the detailed description provided by the developer for the app. Just as Microsoft has never thoroughly tested or done any testing at all for every single 3rd party Windows app, Apple doesn't do any thorough app testing - that is the app developer's responsbility - no different for 3rd party apps on your computer.
    and will my money will be refunded or not?
    That is up to the app developer.
    why cant we try products for some hours to make a buying decision?
    With many apps, there is a free version and a paid version. You can try the free version first if available before purchasing the paid version.
    i just have device with me and apple is remotely controlling it, why are u blocking users freedom?????
    This is a user to user help forum only. You are not addressing Apple here.
    If this is how you feel, exercise your freedom to sell your iPhone. Use the proceeds to purchase a device you believe you'll have complete freedom with.

  • Why use finally block

    why use finnaly block when we can close the resources after the try cath method has executed

    The real reason is that you don't usually catch all exceptions (and you shouldn't). The code shown doesn't catch Errors for example, yet you would always want the resources allocated in the method to be released regardless of any exceptions that are thrown, not just the ones you catch yourself.
