Why Xmonad fails to initialize?

Hi, after successfully installing archlinux in my netbook i "hunted" for a nice and light windows manager and found Xmonad so i decided to test it in a Virtual Machine that has the same packages as my netbook (since i used it to see what kind of problem i could find) the problem is that if i make my ~/.xinitrc like the one in the ArchWiki i get this error. After some search i found a solution (just a bit different from what can be found in the wiki) but i'd like to know why the ~/.xinitrc from the Wiki gives such error.
P.S.: the solution was to delete "exec ck-launch-session"

I've never cared for console-kit, but that aside, it is on the way out.  If you're just getting set up I'd suggest not bothering with working to get console-kit to work well for you as it may be completely 'out' soon enough.
There are *many* other methods of mounting or even automounting removable media: I like pmount, but it doesn't automount; systemd completely replaces whatever it was console-kit was supposed to do; udiskie (or something like that) gets great reviews for automounting; LDM (light device mounter or is it manager) is a lightweight archer-made tool that I've heard good things about for automounting.
