I'm Italian and I have the Italian version of iBooks author. I'm writing a book in English and would love to be able to use the English dictionary but is not available. How do I activate the menu language?

I have PSE6 and I believe it's the same in PSE7.
When you choose 'French', it's only the language for the installation process which is changed.
The program stays in its own language version. You should have a French version PSE7.
In my PSE11, I can choose the language not only for the installation process, but for the editor/organizer also. (4 languages choice I believe).

You can create Urdu text by just going to system prefs/keyboard/input sources and using the plus and add buttons to add the Urdu keyboard and then selecting it in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and then typing.
But you will probably find that iBooks Author does not support RTL text very well.
The big problem is that Apple's iBookstore does not yet accept Urdu books. You really need to put your book in some other store and use an app which creates whatever format that store requires.

I cannot save the book in iBook author.

The book size is 1,19 GB. It happened when I tried to add an html-widgets to book.

I can not save this book, but if I am forced to close with iBooks author, and open the book again, but the error is not repeated. I get to work with the book, but I have to save it after each change.
When an error occurs, does not help either undo changes, or delete the widget.

I am thinking of buying iLife 11 to upgrade iPhoto. Do you recommend it? I am also buying Snow which I understand I need with iLife 11.
Also, I would buy it in Italy, but need to have it installed in English. Is there an option to choose the language of iLife?

See if you find the new features compelling. They are all around sharing and presentation rather than core enhancements to the managing and processing of the photos. It's fair to say that not everyone is thrilled with the changes. Personally, I don't find t particularly compelling compared to iPhoto 09.
You can change the language for the OS and all the apps in System Preferences. So, yes, you can have iPhoto in English.

According to your post, my understanding is that you have an issue about adding attachments to list items in app.
To add attachment to list item in the host web, we should first get the list and the list items from the host web, then add the attachments to the list items.

E613 SYST: You cannot determine the period for rule 03

Dear All,
We are configuring asset module and using MSTL dep key for Tax books. When we tried to create an asset with MSTL dep key, we encountered error - 'E613 SYST: You cannot determine the period for rule 03'. when verified config OAVH Define Calender Assignments transaction, Period control '03' is missing for fiscal year variant K4. Period control is exisiting in Maintain Period Control and but not in Define Calender Assignment. What I understand these period controls are being delivered by SAP. Not sure why period control '03' is missing. all other period control keys are available.
question is how to add period control 03 so that we can use MSTL dep key. we are currently using 4.7c. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If I follow SAP help to define period control '03', then I just need to copy period control '01' which is listed above and select 'Mid Month' check box.
Wondering anyone did this in the past. MSTL depreciation key is being used in MACRS tax for US. I am sure people who have implemented assets module for US with tax dep, they might have encountered this issue.

Or have you transferrred your GarageBand from a different computer?
The error message is saying, that your GarageBand installation is incomplete. There are essential foldrs missing in your system library.
Check, if indeed both folders are missing or if only the permissions are set incorrectly.
Your system library (the folder "System" directly on your system drive) should have the following folders inside the folder "Audio", and they need to be readable by the system and by administrators.
And in the folder /Library/Application Support there should be the Instrument Library.
If these folders do not exist (or no longer exist), restore them from your backup- If your GarageBand version is a new installation, the application may not hve been downloaded or installed completely, then reinstall GarageBand.
What is your GarageBAnd version, and how did you install it originally?

After updating iTunes to 11.1.4 as suggested by automatic updates I get the message:

If it's a CoreDuo (as opposed to a Core2Duo), then you ave a 32 bit OS, and no... 11.1.4 won't run on a 32 bit OS.

Back up your computer first, in case the wrong things happen.
Replace the iTunes 11 application with iTunes 10.7. I can't provide details on this since I do not have a newer computer. With mine it is very simple but I believe on newer computers iTunes has been integrated into the operating system. On mine I just go to my applications folder and drag iTunes to the trash. Get iTunes 10.7. Apple does not keep many old version up on its web site. I always keep an iTunes installer on my archive drive so I can have access to old versions . This one is hidden but it is on an official Apple site:

Big Permissions Problem: "You Cannot Change The Contents Of This Folder"

I installed Tiger some time ago (and need to upgrade now from 10.4.6 to 10.4.9).
I haven't used it much since some of my software will only run under Panther.
In any case, I'm using it now and have been having big permissions/user accounts problems.
I have two users on the computer "robert" and "ra", both with admin privileges (I set up two because I was trying to get around these problems -- I'd be very happy with just one).
I have 10.4.6 installed on an external HD and boot from that into Tiger (I have Tiger on another external HD as a backup, and my main HD in the iMac has 10.3.9 -- that's what I boot from when I need to run older programs).
In any case, both "robert" and "ra" have ADMIN privileges. But I get weird ownership problems. For instance, if I am logged in as "ra" and try to play a Realplayer file streaming from the web (in Firefox 1.x), I get the error
/Users/robert/Desktop/307e6wz7 could not be saved, because you cannot change the contents of that folder.
I check the ownership of the "Desktop" folder -- read/write for "ra".
If I right-click I can save the Realplayer file to the desktop.
Same with other links.
I've also noticed other ownership problems (blocked folders at finder level) but can't duplicate tonight. Is this an obscure error, or is there something amiss in ownership recognition? Is there some way I can sort all out? Login in as "root" and set all right?

Yes they do. When you installed them you dragged these particular apps to the Applications folder. Doing so automatically attributes the program with the ownership attributes of the account owner who installed them - 'robert.'
Proper application installers install apps under the system/admin ownership. You can try to fix these apps by changing their permissions:
Select the app and CTRL-click to open the contextual menu. Choose Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Select the Contents folder and press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Ownership and Permissions section click on the tiny arrow icon to expose the panel. Click on the little lock icon to authenticate. Change permissions as follows:
Owner = system with Read/Write privileges
Group = admin with Read/Write privileges
Other with Read-Only privileges
Click on the Apply To Enclosed Items button. Close the lock by clicking again on the lock icon.
