Wi-fi broken after 2.1 update

My 2g iPhone can no longer stay connected to wi-fi after the 2.1 update. It worked perfectly prior to the update but now will either connect then immediately drop the connection, or say "unable to connect" (while my Macbook Pro continues to use the router without issue), or simply not see the signal at all.
I've tried restarting the iPhone but that's been no help. Anyone have other suggestions?

This is more of a condolence than a solution - sorry! We too lost wifi after upgrading to 2.1 but only for a short while. We went into settings and turned wifi off and then on again and it found our home router and no problems since. This happened to both our iphones on the same LinkSys router.
We did not have to do anything big, like restore; just reset the wireless connection. You'd think that restarting the phone, like you did, would do the same thing - thus the condolences.

Meld looks broken after (semi-)recent update

After Meld was updated from 1.8.5 to 3.11.2 about a month ago, it looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/j4mS0l6.png
I am using MATE and almost everything looks properly. The only other program with the same kind of visual problems is GHex, and it had them for a long time, but I didn't bother. I've seen several threads recommending to create a .config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini, but that didn't help.
Is there a way to fix this?

What could have changed the GTK3 theme? I didn't actively change it myself, and the change happened after a system upgrade. Thanks!
P.S. I use KDE as main desktop.

Scanning Broken after latest Mavericks update

Hello;
After updating Mavericks to latest revision, my Epson Workforce 840 scanning functions are broken... Image Capture, doesn't operate the scanner properly, other applications that use Image Capture to operate the scanner, do not work... Very hobbled operation, I can instigate a scan, but they produce nothing and the system hangs or the application that I am using hangs..

This is a user-to-user forum and you're not talking to Apple here. So we can't "fix the problem" for you.
But here is a suggestion or two:
Try resetting your print system OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system
Try uninstalling any Epson "utilities" , restart, and try Image Capture again.
See if there is an updated driver or scan utility on the Epson website.

What's New Pictures Broken after Lumia 900 Update

Just updated last night and now the pictures in the What's New section of the People is broken. It looks like I can open it because the picture does an action, but it does not open. Help! Can I roll back?

Thank you. I tried disabling my other extensions, but not CTR; the UI breaks in a weird way if CTR is disabled, and I have to manually restore it after reenabling the extension.
I thought there was no way to suppress the post-update 'what's new' page, but I discovered the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone entry in about:config after submitting this question and set it to ignore.

Airport Disk still broken after latest software update

I like how the topic above was marked as 'solved' and archived. Another Airport software has come and gone and Airport disks are still broken. Mine let me copy 74GB of data to it, but refuses to show the contents via the USB port. Anyone had any luck with this after the latest software update?

I have had similar issues since upgrading to Snow Leopard. The first time, I took my MacBook to be checked and the tech said it booted up fine under another startup disk. Since it's under warranty, they just reloaded the original system (Leopard) and I needed to rely on a time machine backup. Now, after the latest software update from Apple, I had the same problem, and am restoring from the latest Time Machine backup.
Does anyone know if this is a systemic problem? Any tips on preventing a repeat the next time I need to update my system software?

App store broken after 3.1 update

When I go to the app store and go to categories all I see is a single app icon repeated over and over(skype), and the categories names all say App Store. If I hit a categorie it takes me to the Featured page. The Featured, Top 25, Search and Update pages all work fine. Been like this snice the day after the update. I am using the Canadian app store. Please dont suggest a restore as it didnt work. The iTunes music store on mine also did this the night before the update where all the genres were the same. So it may be on apples side of things for all I know.

I saw several posts about this matter BEFORE I updated to v3.1.1, while I was running v3.0. So I went and checked it out and sure enough, running v3.0 had the same problem. This is also with the Canadian App Store.
Bottom line: v3.1.1 has nothing to do with this problem, it was there when running with v3.0. For people seeing that problem in the App Store after updating to v3.1.1, don't bother messing around with the update because it has nothing to do directly with the App Store issue.

ITunes Screensaver Broken after iTunes 11 update

After upgrading, the iTunes screensaver now only displays the most recently downloaded artwork (currently 1 album, 3 podcast backgrounds).
Anyone else experiencing this, or has in the past as it may just be coincidental with the update? And of course any solutions.

Mine won't even shut down, it hangs everything up, ignores the force feature and the only way i can reboot is to hold down the power button. I have come to the conclusion that my mac book was defective since day 1. I have given them 6 months to make it better and no go. So they are sending me a new one. Hopefully that should solve the problem. I started having problem right out of the box. They actually wanted me to allow some randon apple guy in shreveport to replace a motherboard on a mac book pro less that a week old. I said no, you have six months to figure this out or send me a new one. They six was up yesterday and my new one should be in the mail shortly. Apple's tech support is top notch.

Site functionality broken after newest Player update

I run a website where users save images onto the server from flash games.
Starting Tuesday evening, I've been getting complaints from users saying they couldn't save the images when using firefox. I tried it myself, and indeed, the functionality stopped working in Firefox. Initially I thought it was a Firefox problem, so I posted on their forums. They were able to get it to work under some conditions, so they concluded it might be a Flash Player thing.
Since then, I have also been getting reports from people using Opera having the same problem, and a few users who say it happens in every browser. Those reports, plus the coincidental timing of this with the May 13th update is making me suspect this has something to do with the Flash Player.. :/

...inside the game, click SAVE. It should open a new window prompting you to login. For me (and other users) it does this in Chrome and IE, but not in Firefox.
It's not as clear in this application, but in some others it also makes the menu disappear inside the swf. This suggests that it pauses the swf.. maybe yielding an error in the swf...
This code has worked fine for a few years up until now...
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated =)

I had the same issue, spotlight dead after I installed then de installed BootCamp.
I only had one account so I created another, logged into it and spotlight worked, logged out and in my account spotlight worked again.

JDownloader broken after last security update

It ran successfully for 3 weeks and began refusing to load any menus after the most recent Apple update.
I got it to launch once by double-clicking the .jar file; since then only "the java .jar file could not be opened, see console etc."
d/l and reinstall produces the same result.
Ideas?

As it turns out it's a bug w/the latest Security update; seems it breaks a lot of java apps.
Mysteriously, it's now working. I had to launch it via the .jar file but since doing that once it now launches via the app icon.
FIWI, it's open source and the ticket I filed has yet to be responded to.

Our product has been using the IWebBrowser OLE interface for many years but has failed since Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer KB3003057. What do we need to do to get this IWebBrowser interface working again.

We are getting Access Violations when calling the IWebBrowswer :: Navigate function since this KB3003057 security
patch. If I uninstall the patch everything works normally again. When I re-install the KB3003057
patch the problem returns.
All our customers (many different computers in different offices) are getting this problem once they pick up the update. It is not specific to a particular computer and we are seeing it on Windows 7 and also Windows 8.

Textutil broken after Safari 3 update?

I have some scripts that use textutil to convert html files to rtfs. I tried one today & it didn't work -- tried running textutil filename.html -convert rtf from the command line, and after an unusually long wait I eventually got the message "Error reading filename.html"
I can't remember the last time I used these scripts but it's been a few weeks, so I'm thinking the culprit is Safari 3 / webkit....
Has anyone else seen this problem / got an idea for a fix?

Seems that you're right. I tested this by first trying out textutil before installing Safari 3, and then afterwards. No go. Hmm... what was the address for the bug tracking system? Seems like a serious bug to me. It seems that reading HTML files is broken since I can still convert files to HTML.

ISCSI Broken after 11.1 Update

Hi,
I am currently using Solaris 11 as an iSCSI target; however after updating to 11.1 and ZFS 34 My Linux clients stopped booting from the LUN's it seems they can read the MBR and bootloader but that is about all. I've tried adding some new zfs LUN's and the Windows and Linux Initiators can see them but give out I/O errors or freeze up when trying to Initialize or partition the new disks.
Here are some of the things I've also tried;
Removing all stmf and iscsi configuration e.g. all views,groups,LUN's and targets.
Uninstalling/Re-install the storage-server package group
Using a File as the LUN
Adding a fresh disk with a brand new ZFS pool and using that as the LUN.
Changing record sizes on LUN's e.g. 512K,4096K,8096K
There is nothing in the log's to indicate a problem and I'm at my whits end as to what to do next.
Anyone else having issues with this or can recommend a way to troubleshoot the problem.

Spotlight & Find Broken after SMC Firewire Update

I recently upgraded to the latest firmwire, iMac SMC Firewire Update 1.0, and now I have no find functionality on my Intel iMac. Soptlight shows, but doesn't search for anything. File find searches and searches but never finds anything.
I tried restarting and repairing permissions and that didn't do anything. I tried deleting com.apple.spotlight.plist and no luck either.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Home Sharing with Apple TV2 Broken After 4.2 Update

It looks like I have some company with at least similar issues. This is very frustrating and support was no help.
ATV 2 worked just great with Windows 7 64-bit and iTunes library until the 4.2 update was loaded. Now ATV 2 keeps telling me to turn on home sharing on a computer but it's already on and iTunes is running, I'm using iTunes 10.2.1.1 and Apple TV2 with latest update 4.2 (2060) and connection over WIFI. Home Sharing is enabled on my computer and ATV2 using the same Apple ID and password. I can get to YouTube and the iTunes store from my ATV 2 without issue.
I've attempted many solutions from what I could find online but no luck:
1. Turned off/on home sharing on both the Apple TV 2 and in iTunes (multiple times)
2. Re-entered my Apple ID and password on both ATV 2 / iTunes
3. Restarted iTunes and ATV 2
4. Restarted the DSL modem/router (ZyXEL PK5000z)
5. Turned the firewall completely off (Norton Internet Security - firewall is off in router)
6. Restored ATV 2 over WIFI
7. Reinstalled iTunes
8. Changed my Apple ID and password then reset in iTunes and ATV 2
9. Renamed my itunes library
10. Disabled QoS upstream/downstream protocol in my DSL modem/router
11. Restored ATV 2 through USB connection in iTunes. This worked for a few minutes but after I turned off ATV 2 and later tried again it was back to it not working...
Any other ideas?

Well, I tried a few other things and one worked but again just the first time I tried connecting to the desktop PC with iTunes. I flashed my router with the latest update and the ATV2 could see the iTunes library and I was able to play media. Later in the day I was going to show off to my daughter that I had fixed it and, to my dismay, no go. I tried opening the suggested ports but no luck.
I then tried loading iTunes on a Win7 laptop and it works perfectly with the ATV2. Both the laptop and the ATV2 are connected to the router wirelessly while the Desktop is connected to the router by Ethernet. Not sure if this is part of the issue as it sounds like this didn't work for others. The only other difference between the laptop and desktop is that the desktop has Win7 SP1 loaded while the laptop does not; now I'm scarred to load it though I don't think that's the issue. All in all, a very vexing situation. Hopefully Apple comes up with a solution soon.
