Wi-Fi Enhanced Connectivity????

So I have noticed that this supposed Enhanced Connectivity on my Razr Maxx doesnt work as it claims too. I want to leave my WiFi off to conserve battery, but want it to turn on and connect when I come home. This enhanced connectivity claims that my smartphone will scan for available WiFi networks EVEN WHEN WIFI IS TURNED OFF. (it does not say not connected....it says turned off!!!) Anybody else notice this? If this worked, that would be awesome. I have all location services turned on, but my fone cant determine my location without WiFi on to enable the Home Smart Action???? Really? Shenanigans.

Hey there, Ernezzy! Thanks for bringing your concerns about your new Droid RAZR Maxx to the VZW Community! I'm sorry for the frustration you've experienced. I do hope that you are otherwise very pleased with your phone. Indeed, the device does support Enhanced Wi-Fi Connectivity. As defined by the manufacturer:
"Wi-Fi Enhanced Connectivity offers a seamless transition between connections when you switch from the Verizon network to a Wi-Fi network.
When you launch an Internet-capable app like the browser, your smartphone scans for available Wi-Fi networks even when Wi-Fi is turned off, and prompts you to connect to an available Wi-Fi network. If you have a usage-based data plan, you can save on your subscribed monthly data allowance by using a Wi-Fi connection rather than the Verizon network."
That states that the feature allows users to know when Wi-Fi networks are available. So, if your RAZR Maxx is performing in this fashion, then it is behaving in accordance with design. If not, please let me know and I'll be happy to troubleshoot the phone with you directly! Thanks again!!

  • BW Enhancement - Connection Field

    Hi
    I want to enhance following fields in Data Source: 2LIS_13_VDITM / 2LIS_12_VCITM / 2LIS_11_VAITM.
    a)     Billing date          FPLT- AFDAT
    b)     Billing Value          FPLT- FAKWR
I am not able to find the connecting field in between the table : FPLT and above mentioned data sources. But this is a client requirement. Please advice me the solution.
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Venkat.

I am seeing FAKSP Billing Block in the datasource and I think with this you can connect the FPLT Table which is Billing Planning Table.

I have seen the same issue working with a different vendors wireless solution. When I sniffed the air with OmniPeek and the network the ap was on with WireShark, I see the arp request for the gateway go to the router, the reply from
the gateway router is sent out to the suspect machine in the air, the PC ack's the packet but never populates the arp cache. I have looked at both arp responses in a working vs failing scenario, both packets are the same.
The only way I have been able to resolve it was to disable IP Helper (start up too) from Services, reboot the machine. I was seeing 3 to 4 drops per day but since disabling this Service the machines I have been testing with have not seen the
    issue again.
    IP Helper:
Provides tunnel connectivity using IPv6 transition technologies (6to4, ISATAP, Port Proxy, and Teredo), and IP-HTTPS. If this service is stopped, the computer will not have the enhanced connectivity benefits that these technologies offer.
    Machines Tested and Fixed:
    Lenovo E540
    Lenovo W540
    Acer Aspire One
    Dell Latitude E6420
The ip helper service change was made on 40 laptops, a dozen of which would fail in about an hour. So far 0 out of the 40 has seen the issue since making the change and rebooting (rebooting is key after the disable) the laptops. It's
    been about 5 days.
Any reason why disabling this Service fixes the issue? With it on I can replicate the issue pretty quickly on a few different machine types so it does not seem to be driver or wireless nic vendor specific. I've checked through the
event viewer logs but nothing seems to be triggered during the time of the issue. Using the troubleshooter or disconnecting from the wireless service will fix the issue for only a short time.

  • Nokia 6080 cannot connect to pc.....

I had install driver cable CA-53 but window shows that one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and window does not recognize it...
    What should i do ? ?

I uninstalled PC Suite & used PC Cleaner to remove all files. Restarted.
1st installed Only the cable driver. No luck.
2: Installed PC Suite 6.82.27.0. Restarted. No Luck. Ran the .bat file from Miksu's advice to register all .dll files. Rebooted. No luck.
When I connect the cable to the phone, the phone displays:
    i Data Enhancement connected
    i Enhancement not supported
When Windows 2000 prompted to install the cable. It could not find a suitable driver. So I chose "Have Disk" and browsed to
    "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Connectivity Cable Driver"
Many Nokia **** USB Modems were listed.
*NO driver for Nokia 6080 was listed*
That is why I conclude that Nokia has not created support for the 6080 in their cable drivers.
I tried Nokia 6085. It installed, but the cable no-longer shows up under connected USB devices and the "modem" would not respond. uninstalled that.
Has anyone with the 6080/CA-42 had success?

  • My nokia 6085 shows an error msg which says Enhanc...

    Hi, Kenny.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
There are a couple things that I would recommend trying.  Try closing all open applications and power cycle the device.  Next, go through the section labeled Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in the second article below.  If the issue persists, try completely signing out of the iTunes Store on the iOS device and sign back in.  Be sure to test downloading an application after each step.

  • CONNECTING PC SUITE TO PC (NOKIA 6102)

I have installed and uninstalled to many times to count. It's not like it never worked. I managed to get my photos off once. The next time I tried I couldn't get it to connect. I have Win XP, a new Gateway 825 My phone is Nokia 6102 and yes my Cable came with a cd. I have tried both numerous times. Online download and CD. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, still says phone not found.
The following is what came up as I tried to connect again. I am following the instructions word for word. I wait till download is complete, like it is telling me to, before I plug phone into Usb port.
Phone with red x on tool bar after downloading latest Nokia PC Suite from Nokia site. ( 6.80.22) Click the get connected and it says on my phone screen Data enhancement connected and right away says data enhancement not supported.
I have been following the post of uncfingers and your responses and have also done everything you have suggested there.
    Waiting you answer
    Thanks
    Dee

It looks like the port isn't configured correctly (and don't ask me how to do it but I think it did it automatically the first time I attached the cable to the pc). I have the cable connected and then I get two options: CA-42 USB-to-Serial Bridge (COM7) and COM3. Obviously I select the first one. I sometimes get the enhancement not recognised on the phone but I ignore it and it usually connects.
So to repeat, I have the cable connected for the steps above, I then disconnect the cable and click on Get Connected and then follow the instructions when to re-connect the cable and then the phone.

  • 6230 DKU-2 - "No phone connected"

I'm using Nokia PC Suite 5 for the first time but my PC doesn't seem to connect to the phone.
    Here's my setup:
    Nokia 6230
    Windows XP Home
    DKU-2 cable
I downloaded and installed the cable driver [nokia_connectivity_cable_driver_rel_6_81_1_eng.msi], then installed the Nokia PC Suite as supplied on CD. I now have a Nokia Phone Browser on my Desktop, a Nokia PC Suite icon in the System Tray and lots of shortcuts in my Programs folder.
Plugging in the DKU-2 cable to a USB port, then attaching my 6230 caused a 'new hardware detected' icon to appear in the System Tray. After a minute or so the messages stopped, one of which seemed to indicate that it had found a generic Nokia USB driver. Plugging in the USB cable results in the usual 'bing-bong' and the 6230 screen says, "Data enhancement connected". So far, so good.
Double-clicking the PC Suite Icon reveals a Nokia Connection Manager wizard, with four buttons. I click the 4th button (USB connection) and wait, but nothing happens. The message says, "No phone connected".
What have I done wrong/do I do to fix this please?

  • Multiple UDP connections for svchost.exe (netsvcs)

Can anyone advise what these connections are?  The UDP port it uses on my PC always changes (random between ports 50000 and 60000), and Windows tries to open matching UPnP ports in my router.
It still continues despite windows update/bits services disabled, and many of the IP addresses are not Microsoft related.

    Hi MadEngineer,
Netsvcs.exe is not essential for Windows and will often cause problems. Netsvcs.exe is located in the C:\Windows\System32 folder. Here is a link for reference :
    Netsvcs.exe

Please check the location of this process ,we can perform a full scan with the antivirus software if we suspect it is harmful.
iphlpsvc refers to IP Helper ,it provides some enhanced connectivity functionality to your PC.HomeGroups and IPv6 transition technologies rely on iphlpsvc.

  • 5140i - c42 cable - not connecting

Have checked similar threads on this topic and no answer to my problem. Have checked that keyboard lock is not automatically on and set Com port to 30 as recommended in one of the threads.
Running XP Pro, latest service pack.
Latest edition of PC suite downloaded and installed - not drivers on CD that came with the Nokia cable since PC suite has drivers.
When phone is connected 2 error messages appear in quick succession - Data enhancement connected - Enhancement not supported.
Driver disc that came with cable has instructions for setting up modem - have tried to follow instructions but some bear little resemblance to what i see on my machine

Sounds like either a faulty cable or a faulty phone. It should not say "enhancement not supported"... if it does, you've got a problem.
I'd suggest taking your phone and cable to your nearest Nokia engineer to have them both tested.
If you're in the UK, find your nearest engineer here

    Hi,
    Check the following:
Your phone model is supported by the current Nokia PC Suite version at www.nokia.com/pcsuite  and reinstall the correct version of Nokia PC Suite if needed.
Your Nokia device is running the latest software. For downloads and assistance, go to Nokia software update service.
When using a cable connection, check that the cable is an original Nokia cable and supported by your phone at  www.nokia.com/accessories.
If the problem still persists, uninstall the PC Suite, reboot your PC and install PC Suite again.

  • Transfer data between systems realtime

    Dear All,
    I have the following issue:
In System1 we create Purchase Order (PO) and in System2 a Sales Order (SO) reference to that PO.
The line item in the PO in System1 have Profit Center PC1 assigned.
In System2 the SO has PC2 assigned to line item.
The client has in System2 New GL activated and they do Document Splitting, so we need to transfer the Profit Center information and fill the Partner PC field with PC1 before the document splitting takes place.
If the company codes are in the same system, SAP offers a derivation option to define the Partner Profit Center between affiliated companies. But in our case the companies are in different systems.
As I know the Profit Center - Partner Profit Center derivation happens already at the time of the SO creation, so the information should be available at that time. For this PCA is not an option and I need your help to tell the system which PC-PartnerPC assignment should take place at the time of SO creation.
What integration tools could be used?
One solution from me (not an ABAPer!):
    1. Read the relevant data from the PO (PC1, PO-number...), fill Z table
    2. Realtime update the Z table in the central system (System2) - suggest, what tool with?
    3. Use Enhancement (connected with Z table) in the Derivation of Partner Profit Center EC-PCA function --> to find the actual data relation
    4. At the time of SO creation the correct Derivation is read from the derivation. (PO Number is entered in SO! - it can be an info for the system, right?)
What do you think, could it work?
    Thanks for your answers,
    Zsolt

Sounds to me like something for ALE/IDOCs.
Anyway - moved to Data Transfer forum.

  • Verizon, Does YOUR equipment need service and upgrade? Not OURS? Please Help

         Hello,
I used to have a pretty stable dial-up, then DSL, then DSL enhanced connection. But late this summer, my service has gotten horrible. In the evenings, I can get disconnected every 1 to 2 minutes or even get disconnected when I am trying to reconnect from the last disconnect.
I have a new modem/router from Verizon and have gone through all the standard troubleshooting suggestions given on this site.
I then began sifting through these forums and then posting about my difficulties.
Through the last several months it seems as though more people are complaining about the frequent internet slowdowns and disconnects. We've all been walked through the same steps.
Finally we are being told that these problems are happening during "high-traffic" times on the internet and nothing else is said.
I recently saw a post where a customer said they were told by a Verizon service technician that the problems are because Verizon's hardware needs to be upgraded to handle the larger amount of internet traffic.
I have rebooted and reset my modem many times. I've restarted my computer, run cleaning programs, cleared the DNS folder, and defragged. I've even changed the phone and Ethernet cables.
    Verizon,
Will you please work on solutions on your end instead of saying everything is on OUR end?
    Thank you

  • Pictures from Nokia 6230i

I have only owned this phone for a few days but am delighted with it apart from the fact that I cannot download any photos. I had no trouble with a previous Nokia but with this one I either get an Error message or a refer to Microsoft message.
Can anyone help please? I think I have follwed the istructions correctly, but must have done something wrong somewhere.

No joy I'm afraid. All I can think of is give you a description of what I do and what happens.
    1. Connect phone. "Use as storqge device?" "no" (as in the manual). "Data enhancement connected " appears.
2 Just over task bar "Nokia 6230i connected by USB"
    3. Go to Settings/Connectivity/"use USB"
    4. Click on File manager. Error message "The operation could not be completed". Click OK and screen shows desktop folders with two Nokia browser icons, one for new contacts and the other asking for a Microsoft report.
    6. Try Store Images. Correct phone shown as is connection by DKU-2. Screen shows "Getting info about images and videos" - and there it stops for as long as I care to leave it.
So there we are. I have a new phone, the latest Nokia software and the correct cable, but it doesn't work.
The only thought that comes to my mind is that the software download may have been corrupted by one of my anti-malware programmes - ZoneAlarm, AVG, PestPatrol and Ewido are the main ones. Would switching any or all off and then reinstalling be of any help?
I am grateful for your patience and hope for a solution soon!

  • Should I leave IPv6 installed on Host and VMs

We installed our first Hyper-V server last Monday, and everything went pretty well. The first virtual machine was the main company server SERVER1, and this was running AD, DHCP, DNS. But I did have an issue during the setup for the client workstations. I
was not able to connect some of them to the domain. When I tried to ping the virtual machines, only one of the servers was being resolved (to it's FE80 IPv6 address) and the others would not resolve at all. I disabled IPv6 on these clients and immediately
they were able to ping all of the virtual machines. I thought IPv6 was meant to work alongside IPv4 when they were both installed by default, not interfere with IPv4?
So my question is: IPv6 will not be mandatory in our country for a long time yet I would think, so am I better off just disabling IPv6 on all clients and servers to avoid such issues in the future.

this is pretty worthy from Microsoft:
It is unfortunate that some organizations disable IPv6 on their
computers running Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2, or
Windows Server 2008, where it is installed and enabled by default. Many
disable IPv6-based on the assumption that they are not running any
applications or services that use it. Others might disable it because of
a misperception that having both IPv4 and IPv6 enabled effectively
doubles their DNS and Web traffic. This is not true.
From Microsoft's perspective, IPv6 is a mandatory part of the
Windows operating system and it is enabled and included in standard
Windows service and application testing during the operating system
development process. Because Windows was designed specifically with IPv6
present, Microsoft does not perform any testing to determine the
effects of disabling IPv6. If IPv6 is disabled on Windows 7, Windows
Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2008, or later
versions, some components will not function. Moreover, applications that
you might not think are using IPv6—such as Remote Assistance,
HomeGroup, DirectAccess, and Windows Mail—could be.
Therefore, Microsoft recommends that you leave IPv6 enabled, even
if you do not have an IPv6-enabled network, either native or tunneled.
By leaving IPv6 enabled, you do not disable IPv6-only applications and
services (for example, HomeGroup in Windows 7 and DirectAccess in
Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are IPv6-only) and your hosts can
    take advantage of IPv6-enhanced connectivity.
