Wi-Fi sync being blocked by firewall

I figured out why my iPod couldn't do wifi sync and that was because my AVG firewall was blocking it. I turn it off and it is shown in iTunes. I turn it on and it is disconnected. I'd like to know how I can configure my AVG firewall to allow the iPod to use wifi sync. Please help.

Since a recent Firefox upgrade, I have a section of one of my online banking sites that will no longer open....says it is being blocked by Firewall. Wasn't a problem before I upgraded a few days ago.

One of my online banking sites runs contests to win cash from time to time to encourage use of the site. Prior to a recent upgrade of Firefox, I had no problem opening the necessary pages. I am now being told that those particular sites are being blocked by my Firewall. The area in question is basically a "flag" you click on to guess which of three "umbrellas" you want to open for a chance to win money. These flags are located in various parts of the online banking site; i.e., make a payment, transfers, summary, etc.

I can only guess because I've never seen such a message...
Does it help if you completely turn off Firefox's pop-up window blocker?

You might want to check with the bank's tech support in case they've run into this before.

Edge Inspect works great except localhost pages being blocked by firewall

Hi,
I switch the Windows 7 firewall off and the localhost pages show up on the Edge Inspect app on the iphone4, so then I tried to re-configure the firewall, namely allow Edge Inspect, Bonjour, and Mobile Device related rules all allowed, but the localhost pages are still being blocked.
Any help with how to re-configure the Windows firewall for much more Edge Inspecting would be appreciated!

I have placed the following rules both inbound and outbound to allow both Edge Inspect and Bonjour to use 7682 for all domains using the TCP protocol. (Is that the correct protocol?)
After applying these rules though the firewall still blocks Edge Inspect.

PDF file being blocked by Firewall

I have 3 PDF files our of thousands that are being blocked by my companies firewall. None of the others are being blocked.We have re-created these files on different machines, with different names and still noluck. Outside our firewall they can be downloaded.
Has anyone run into this before?

It's not an Adobe problem, it's something with your firewall configuration - and therefore not something we can help with here. Most enterprise-level firewall software has some kind of log to say why it blocked a file (i.e. which rule triggered).

How do I avoid websites hanging on load due to elements being blocked by firewall

I am currently in China. As you may know China employs a pretty nasty firewall to keep discussion of sensitive topics at bay. The problem is many western based websites have been blocked by this ie. Facebook and Twitter. I don't normally visit these sites, however many sites employ elements that rely on content from these blocked sites, so when I'm loading a website, it tries to load data from a link to Twitter for example, but it fails to continue loading the rest of the data from the actual site that I'm visiting while this happens (because the twitter data is blocked). Is there anyway to make it so Firefox skips over these blocked elements, or make it so the rest of the page loads up with the other elements are still timing out?

I haven't used elements in 6-7years so apologies if I miss the mark.
Am assuming videomerge merges the layers down to simplify timeline (akin to nesting?! in Pr) as haven't come across this before. Either way you probs shouldn't need to do so - put each video in a separate layer and crop and move as you have done and render and should come out great as one video file (no need to then video merge).
If you do insist on video merge, move the central big size video to the bottom layer with the 4 small ones to layers above. Then when you merge down the side videos won't get obscurred
Or use garbage matts - look in effects and should be there. Drag and drop on each clip and move cornersto selct area you want to keep just as you would for a crop. See if that sorts your problem out.
Re Premiere Pro. Great piece of software but more complicated so might not suit your needs (though may do) but not cheap (even with edu discount) if not using it for your job (check creative cloud subscription cost). Worth checking out DaVinci Resolve 11 if you want pro software (which is now free as a result of buyout)- mostly for colouring but also has editor. If you do start making decent money on Youtube (though for all I know you could be! :-) ) and want to get into some complex editing and feel limited by Elements, then definitely get pro - you won't regret it at that stage in your editing.
Finally, your screenshots genuinely look very impressive, I like the split view and nice to see people pay attention to lighting - I think lighting and sound are just soooo important (more so than what camera and lens) and far too often overlooked.

Cannot connect to the iTunes store. Get 'Error 11222'. Claims it is being blocked by Windows Firewall when it is allowed through.

When an external application tries to connect to it through iTunes I get 'Error: 11222'. When I try to connect through the iTunes app it just continuously loads but nothing appears. Diagnostics says that Windows Firewall (Which is being managed by McAfee) is blocking it, even though it is allowed through both firewalls I have. Even when I turn WF off iTunes claims it is being blocked by it. I have done almost everything Apple's support pages have suggested but nothing has worked. I'm using it on an Acer Aspire laptop, and the main PC can use iTunes without trouble so it isn't the ISP. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes twice. Here is a full diagnostics:

The 11222 errors can sometimes be produced by LSP trouble. One of the suspects with that is some versions of McAfee Family Protection. For troubleshooting advice, see the following document:

Syncing problem (not the firewall)

It's hooked up to iTunes. The firewall is set to share iTunes music files (and iPhoto/Bonjour). The AppleTV is not in use.
It won't sync properly. Sometimes it will try to sync every TV episode I have (too many) even though I tell it to sync only unwatched. Other times it won't sync at all.
Ideas?

If you are using a wireless connection on the computer for internet access, you can try turning on internet sharing and running a cable directly from the apple tv to the computer. If it can sync there then you are either having an issue with interference, and you can look at knowledge base article 58543 (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58543) for potential sources. Or you may need to look at firewall ports being blocked. This knowledge base article may help with that ( http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305115).

PAP2T: Incoming calls being blocked by Router.

I am trying to use an unlocked PAP2T Adapter with Telus home network in Canada and am not able to receive calls. I can make outgoing calls to any number in the world, but whenever I get a call back, the phone doesn't ring & later I find it in Firewall log as being blocked under "Low Risk Attack". While trying to find a resolution with the VOIP provider I had at times picked up the phone randomly & found the caller on the line. So apparently the calls have no prblem reaching my PAP2T Adapater, it is just that (1) there is no ring when they do & (2) the incoming calls get blocked by Firewall & dropped.
I have tried port forwarding (UDP & TCP) as well DMZ mode for the Adapter, no luck. Later i tried disabling almost all of the internet provider's 2wire modem/router firewall features (UDP ports scan, packets , etc.) still didnt work. I have run out of ideas & hoping that someone can help me find a way out of this problem ? Appreciate your help & time. Thanks.

I changed to the following settings that did the trick for making the phone ring,
Click Regional on the top:
Under Ring and Call Waiting Tone Spec
Change Ring Waveform to Sinusoid
Change Ring Voltage: 90
Change Ring Frequency: 20
However, when I pick up the ringing phone, there is no voice going through the line. Also, as per my VOIP provider instructions, when I dial a local number followed by # sing & hang up in 5 seconds, I don't get any callback either. I have even updated the PAP2T to the latest firmware 5.1.6. Any thing else I can change to get the voice across & get the call back ? thanks for your help again.

All the log-in pages to my regularly visited websites are being blocked. Saved sites that have stored log-in info or sites where I have accounts that I need to sign-in to access all get the same error - "This Connection is Untrusted. You have asked Firefox to connect securely to (insert website url here), but we can't confirm that your connection is secure. Blah, blah, blah."
Anyone know what's causing this and how to fix it?? I have decent anti-virus software and I did a complete scan, came up clean.

*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

ITunes proxy authorisation window does not appear (and account is being blocked randomly)

Many users have iTunes installed on their PC. iTunes requires proxy authorization to connect to internet. Appropriate popup window appears when opening iTunes and trying to open some internet-based page there. Entering current AD account credentials helps to connect. There is also a checkmark there allowinf to save credentials for further use (and do not show this window anymore). When AD password is changed - this popup window does not appear again and user's account is being blocked (because iTunes tries to connect proxy with old credentials). The question is: is it possible to reset proxy settings, stored somewhere inside iTunes somehow? Just to return proxy authorization window back. Did you have such an experience? If you caould share any knowledge - it would be great.

What happens if you go to iTunes > File > Devices, do you get the option to Sync iPhone?

Ports are being block (not responding), port forwarding is configured on the router and firewall is turned off on the server (osx 10.8). Am I missing anything?

Depending on the exact set-up of the network, L2TP requires UDP ports 500, 1701 and 4500 and the IP-ESP protocol, which is IP protocol 50; ESP.
Other than ESP (which is protocol 50 and not port 50), these are UDP ports, and not TCP.
TCP 1723 is used for PPTP. Not L2TP.
It is common for L2TP passthrough to fail when more than one connection is active.
As compared with L2TP, PPTP is usually easier to get going around NAT. Though conversely, L2TP is rather more secure than PPTP.
Check your Mac OS X Server firewall settings, too. If you have some outboard network device providing a NAT gateway, try dropping the server firewall.
Use of an external firewall-gateway with an embedded VPN server is something I've variously recommended, too. (I find that VPN NAT passthrough is something best avoided, as VPNs and NAT are operating at crossed purposes. VPNs seek to keep connection end-points known, while NAT tries to hide those connection end-points. Doing the VPN processing on the Internet side of the NAT is just... well, easier.)
Also ensure that your ISP is not blocking VPN connections. While you might be on static IP, confirm the ports are open. Trust, but verify. Get yourself a UDP port scanner, and have a look.
If it's permissible within your ISP service tier (and depending on what protocols you're testing), probe the specific target ports using telnet or the openssl s_client command and (particularly for this case) the nc (netcat) tools, and see if the ports allow access. nc can run port probes on UDP, which is the key piece here given telnet and s_client target TCP and TCP SSL connections. Probably something like the nc -zu w.x.y.z udp-port command.

Blocked packets - firewall issue

My download speed has dropped from 56mb to around 37mb since yesterday and some websites are loading slowly or only partially loading. The home hub 3's event log is showing a lot of packets are being blocked. Here is an example of what I am seeing repeated over and over:
18:17:09, 29 May.             BLOCKED 4 more packets (because of Packet invalid in connection)
18:16:30, 29 May.             IN: BLOCK [9] Packet invalid in connection (TCP 74.125.24.94:443->31.51.243.206:57595 on ppp1)
18:12:46, 29 May.             OUT: BLOCK [65] First packet is Invalid (TCP 192.168.1.66:50513->17.154.66.18:443 on ppp1)

If you are a personal user and have not setup desktop redirector than you should be setup as BIS.
This line in your post is what took me in that direction:
"Here's the message: The application mobireader has attempted to open a
connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is which is not allowed by your IT policy"
IT policies are used in the server based networks to restrict functions of the BB.
Was your phone new when purchased? I'm trying to see if you have an IT policy on the phone.

Itunes gets blocked through Firewall

I have Sonic Wall TZ 150 Standard as a firewall gateway and allowing hand ful of websites in to the allowed list of domains in Sonic wall so as to restrict others. But with this my Itunes was getting blocked and not allowing My IPHONE to update. So I run netstat utility and added all list of IP address coming up in to the allowed list of domains but still ITUNES is getting blocked.
So can you tell me if apple is using specific IP address list or is there any other process to get Itunes working through firewall.

Doublechecking ... do your McAfee products include McAfee Family Protection?
If so, check to see if your McAfee Family Protection is currently blocking iTunes, as per the following McAfee document:

Call the function module ENQUEUE_EMMARAE with the required material number. If sy-subrc is not 0, after the function module has executed completely then the material is locked by a different user.
