Widescreen 16:9 Project Option

VC3 should have the option for users to set whether they will be producing a 4:3 project or a 16:9 project. The supplied graphics and preview windows would "adjust" themselves accordingly.
Just about everyone is producing at least some, if not all, of their training and educational work in widescreen now. Most companies are replacing old 4:3 displays with flat 16:9 screens and most portable devices are now widescreen.

Adobe had posted this Tutorial on how to use 4:3 sets in a 16:9 project (in Ultra) but it appears they have removed the website completely now. Not sure if this would have helped at all but since Serious Magic made both products, it might be useful.
Unless you can find a cache of this somewhere. Not sure why Adobe removed these useful tutorials, but I think it is because they will eventually remove all Serious Magic product tutorials from their website.

NWDS - Canu00B4t see the Composite Application Project option.

I ' ve recently update my NWDS and my CE 7.1 to SP06 , but i found that the Composite Application Project option in the NWDS has gone. I can´t build any composite app. project. Is there someone who can help me to fix this problem? could be any corrupted plug-in??

Hi,
The problem could be corrupted PLUGINS or missing plugins due to incomplete installation.
Ideally the plugins folder at "Program Files\SAP\IDE\CE\eclipse\plugins" location would have the necessary files for creating a particular project. You can always check for the right plugin in case of the problem.
As mentioned copying the folder structure is one such work around solution. One more notable thing is that when you manually add a plugin, do make sure you restart the NWDS and refesh the track.

JDev11g TP4 SOA Project Option missing

this option has been removed for TP4 for general testing. Customers that have a support contract can get a how-to for enabling this option from customer support. So the suggestion is to stay on TP3 for the SOA part

Looping real instruments - follow time of project option not selectable

Hi,
I've recorded a real instrument track, now I would like to make it loopable and safe it to the instruments library.
So, I trimmed it to the desired lenght and wanted to export it.
Now my problem:
the export option "follow time and tonality" is not selectable irrespective whether or not I checked the box at the bottom in the edit track window that should allow the loop for following the project parameters.
Does anyone know what could be the problem?

It seems that it is crucial to adjust the region one wants to loop to an integer bar lenght, then recheck the box, follow time and tonality in the track window. I have noticed that although following the same proceedure sometimes it not possible to export the such a loop as one that follows the tempo of the song (unable to check box, in the loop-export dialogue). To me the reason is not completely clear, often it requires some trial and error, import loop in new project to export it as a tempo following one.

Widescreen Monitor Flash Project

Hey Every1 again. As some of you here know i am working on a
website, doing it with flash only. I also am working on a
widescreen pc "1024 x 600" when i open my project on another pc ,
normal screen, my project stays on the left hand side. Can someone
help me out on how to put it in the centre, so that way it will
work with any size monitor. Oh BTW, i change my flash stage to "760
x 420" as i have been told b4, but still when i open it as a HTML
Document , it open on the left hand side of the screen , leaving
the right hand side empty. Now, when open it as a flash movie, it
opens just fine.
Can someone help me please?
I can send the html doc to anyone if needed to look at.

for "center flash" and you would find the answer in minutes.
Sometimes we don't answer not because we don't know, we don't

question is a pure waste of time and obviously shows you did
not bother to do
any search and put any effort to find it yourself, just look

Where is "finalize project" option on iMovie?

I have created a project on iMovie and now I'm done editing it. So, I was going to finalize it as I did with previous projects on the previous version of iMovie but the option is not there. I looked it out in the Apple site, and it says that it is under "File", but it is not there. Does anybody know if it's gone or where can I find it?

Share to file. You can choose resolution and where it will be saved.
Regarding the original question: if you save to Theater iMovie will create versions of your movie for different devices so this is really the equivalent of 'finalizing' an iMovie 9 movie. It takes longer and uses more disk space than sharing to file so is not worth doing if you only want a single version.

Run - Debug project option is disabled to run the CVI RT application

I am new to CVI Real time. I have taken the example code LoopTimingRT.prj and LoopTimingHost.prj from CVI samples directory. I am planning to run RT and host in the same desktop PC. I have created two seperate workspaces for RT and Host with their respective projects.For RT, target is given as local desktop computer, target type selected as dll, in target settings, Run time support is mentioned as Real Time Only.
In CVI Real Time Help and also in Getting Started with Labwindows/CVI Real Time pdf, it is mentioned like we have select Run -> Debug Project to run the RT application. When i am trying to do that, that option itself is disabled in RT workspace.
Please can anyone help me.

Can not see Oracle BPEL Project option in Eclipse

Hi,
I have followed the Test Drive document to install the Oracle BPEL Process Manager 2.0 e.g:
1. Installed Eclipse 3.0 GA (eclipse30GA.zip)
2. Installed BPEL Process Manager 2.0RC9 (orabpel_2.0rc9_OC4J_win32.exe)
3. Installed BPEL Designer Plugin for Eclipse (bpelz_0.9.1_win32.exe)
When I open Eclipse to build a new Oracle BPEL Project I don't get the option to do that. It seems that the plugin isn't loaded or so ?
I am very sure that I answered the install questions correctly (tried multiple times).
Any ideas on what could be wrong ?

Further information - it now seems that the missing 'bat' file is due to the order of installation of server and designer. However, the 'bpelz.bat' file looks for the 'obsetenv.bat' in the wrong directory. Should be 'call ..\..\bin\obsetenv.bat' (on my install at least). Eclipse 3.0 also has a bug I now discover that does not load plugins correctly. Delete the 'configuration' directory, restart and the plugin becomes available

Like Bill's suggestion, firstly we have to make sure that we find the correct project template options.
But if you still get this issue, one possible reason is that the project templates don't load correctly.
Run the command line:
devenv.exe /InstallVSTemplates

FLV snags when Synchronize w/ Project option is used

I am using Captivate 4. My project has a single progressive FLV, which works fine until I
check the Synchronize with Project checkbox. When I select that option, (because I need to be able to
pause simultaneously the movie and the Captivate project, the video plays erratically stopping momentarily
every 5 seconds or so. This causes the audio to break up too. If I do not select synchronization, the video
plays fine. I should add that I am running this on a server. If I test it or view it in a browser locally it plays fine.
I have been dealing with this problem for a few days, and I am extremely frustrated. Anyone have any ideas?
I have looked at frame rate, settting up FLV MIME type on the server, creating a new Captivate file and a new
video, adding metadata to the FLV and a bunch of other things, but I am out of ideas. Pls Help!

EPT on New project option at project center are all Greyed out

Hello,
We have a problem with only 2 users within the PWA. They can not create new projects. When they click the New button on the project center, all EPTs are gray.
We think it was a issue with the permissions. So, we removed all the groups from the users and assign again, but the problem persisted. For other users with the same permission there are no problems.
Furthermore, we tested with the same user on other computers, and the problem persists. We believe it's tied to the user.
We are using Project Server 2010.
If more information is needed, please let me know.

If it was an issue about the permissions, the "new" button would be greyed out preventing users to click on it and seeing the EPT list. If they can click on "new" but only the EPTs are greyed out, then it is another issue..
Are the users part of a department? Have you associated EPT with departments?

I need help, in using rest of the project option

Hello All.
In my project I have 160 slides. I have one object to be displayed for the first 150 slides but it should not be displayed for the last 10 slides. I added the object in the first slide and applied the "rest of the project" property.
Now, Can I remove the property or remove the object from the slide_151 till the last slide?

I cannot archive a project in Garage band, the archive button is grayed out when I "save as". Any thoughts?

16:9 widescreen movie menus are too wide for the TV screen

I shot a movie in 16:9 on my Canon Optura 600 camcorder and edited it in iMovieHD6. Imported it into iDVD6 and all was looking good. Burned it on the SuperDrive and when played back on my Sony XBR flat screen TV (Not widescreen), the 16:9 movie overscans and hides some of the theme menus at the sides. The movie looks "squashed." If I play it at 4:3 on the same TV the movie looks normal but the menus still don't fit. I went back into iDVD and changed the project to 4:3. In the preview mode, now all looks ok. The movie does not look flattened. Is this the way that 16:9 movies should be handled in iDVD6, that is, converted to standard and not wide screen, so that they run as a 16:9 movie letterboxed on the 4:3 screen? I played the DVD on a Sony widescreen LCOS SXRD projection TV and the movie fit better but part of the menus were still hiddden.

iDVD does some strange things with aspect ratios. It basically stems from the way it deals with the aspect ratio flag that your DVD player uses to set the screen resolution. iDVD internally sets the aspect ratio of the project to 16:9 auto pan & scan and letterbox. In essence this means that the output is contolled almost totally by the settings on you DVD player and TV.
In an ideal world iDVD would give you the option to set the aspect ratio to 16:9 letterbox therefore forcing the picture to letterbox on a 4:3 TV. This would give more consistent results across varying equipment.
Added to this, some TV's and DVD players will by design cut off some of the edges of the available picture. This is normal and should be allowed for when creating your DVD. You can use the Show TV Safe option (apple T) to show the safest area to place titles and menus in.
The way DVD's work and the method by which aspect ratios are handled is a complicated subject for which there's not enough space here but if you're really interested in having a little more control over the way your DVD works then I can highly recommend myDVDedit:

It's free and a great tool. It even has a guide to fix exactly your problem. Downside is you need a little bit of a learning curve to fully understand the way a DVD works.
Basically you could create a disk image on you hard disk and edit the results to set the aspect ratio to force a 16:9 letterbox therefore ensuring more reliability.
Alternatively you could create your DVD's as normal (ensuring that you set the project correctly to 16:9 to match your footsge) and adjust the settings on your DVD player to 16:9 letterboxed. That might work but you'd have to ensure that this is set correctly on all of the DVD players you use your disks on.
I hope I haven't confused the living daylights out of you.
