WIDESCREEN VIDEO SQUASHES WHEN I USE MPEG STREAM CLIP

Most of my video's are wide screen, when i convert them for ipod in mpeg stream clip the video squashes to fit in screen, how do i get round this, i know the iPod is'nt wide screen, but i'd rather have black bars than squashed video, i don't want to use Quicktime Pro because it's too slow, any ideas much appreciated!

I'm not sure what program your using but I just set a wide screen resolution when I convert. 320x180, 368x208, 480x270 for example. On the other hand if the movie has the bars in the stream itself then you'll have to crop the movie to get it back to a true widescreen format. You'll know when you play the ripped file if it's true widescreen or not.

MPEG Stream Clip Export Settings

I've been working on a WWII documentary.
You guys turned me onto a really nifty piece of software which I use occasionally; MPEG Stream Clip
It's great - just wanna make sure I'm using the right export settings for re-importing a piece of film back into FCP.
I assumed it was best to export as a Quick Time File rather than a DV. Why? Because it seems the DV export puts compression on the clip. In 'Options' I also choose Apple DVCPRO-NTSC

If you're working in a DV NTSC timeline then you are doing it right. the Streamclip option for dv creates a dv stream which is not the same thing as a DV NTSC Quicktime Movie.

Video blinks when I use quicktime player?

When I use QuickTime PLayer to watch videos the video stops for a very little time (blinks) No matter if a movie, music video or ads.

It is blocked due to licensing, in order to mirror it would need to break DRM copy protection and this isn't legal.

Error dowloading URL to Mpeg Stream Clip

I use MPEG Streamclip to convert files for putting into my Imovies. I tried the File "open URL" and input the url from a youtube and a google video site. Neither one would load and I got a message "error in loading". This is supposed to work fairly easily. Any help or suggestions?

Yes. As QTKirk already stated, you need the URL for the file itself -- not the path to the web site page on which it displays the file. If what you are trying to do is view, download, and convert YouTube content for your computer, iPod, or other device, then buy TubSock (or a similar application) instead of QT Pro which also won't help you. These mini applications will extract the directory and file ID information, download the data, convert it, and store it for you with the mere pressing of a button in the Safari Bookmarks bar.

Easy setup FCE 4 and mpeg stream clip

Hi, i need an help for import my videocamera video. I use samsung MHX H200SP/EDC and i obtain a MP4 PAL 1280x720 50fps clip. I try to use MPEG streamclip to convert in something not to be rendered fo FCE the i import it into FCE.
Could someone tell me which set up use in MPEG streamclip and in esasy setup for FCE?
I would like to obtain max quality (doesn't matter space on HD)
I tried in this way
MPEG streamclip conversion:
Apple Intermediate Codec
100% quality
1280x720 (16:9, no scaling, HDTV 720p? which one?)
shoud i choose "interlaced scaling"?
other way?
in easy set up for FCE i tried:

AVCHD Apple Itermediate Codec 1920x1080i50
rate 25 fps
is it right? which one should i use?

The MHX H200SP/EDC saves video as MP4/H.264 files and it appears you used 1280x720p as your setting in the camera.
In that case, in MPEG Streamclip, convert the clips to:
QuickTime
Apple Intermediate Codec
1280x720 (HDTV 720p)
UNcheck the option called "Interlaced scaling" (because you have progressive video)
In FCE, select the HDV Apple Intermediate Codec 720p25 Easy Setup. Then create a new Sequence. Then import your converted clip(s).

Video play drags - Why does H.264 video drag when played using iPhoto?

I recorded video using a Canon HD camera (VIXIA HFM301). I downloaded the video to my MacBook Pro. When selecting the video from my photo library to watch, the replay drags; almost looks like the video is blurry. When i download to my old PC, it does not drag.

Material from a Camcorder goes into iMovie for processing, not iPhoto. Then you export the finished work and import it to iPhoto or wherever you choose. iPhoto is designed to get lightweight video from point and shoot cameras, not material from camcorders.

Adobe stopped supporting flash for android since ICS. You may still be able to download the latest (old) flash player "at your own risk" from Adobe archived flash player versions:

As for video streaming, there are lot of apps for that and it's just a matter of your preference.

Video quirky when exported using media converter

Have put together a premiere movie...all ok. then exported in movie converter to flv..then inported into flash...exported and uploaded with dreamweaver file..
on the web am getting jumpy lines as if the compression has gone bad.
Didn't happen the first time with a slightly bigger video but changed and edited to make it smaller...
My question is...is it the process from premiere that is the problem and if so how to fix or has it been corrupted further down the line?

I have a serious issue with static (clicking sounds) when I use Netflix streaming along with any movies I rent via AppleTV, and yes I use a optical audio cord. Any suggestions?

Was is most interesting, is that if I watch other content like MLB TV using the sound bar and optical cable, I don't have this issue, it's all very strange. Any suggestions?

Perhaps it's obvious to you, but what would I adjust in the midi settings? There's nothing obvious that speaks to this out of sync issue.
FYI, I just plugged my JBL creatures into the audio out (same physical jack as the digital out, though of course they use different technologies) and there is no sync problem with the audio played through them. Clearly it's an issue with the digital out, just wish I could figure out if it's my stereo or something in the computer. I have no other devices that accept a digital input, so can't swap the stereo out for anything else.

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 4. I can hear everyone but they can't hear me. Visited Apple Store and they said speakers were out, both bottom mic and top one for speaker phone. Sound not working on Youtube video embedded in webpage used in web clip.

I created a web clip and installed it using ipcu. On the web page I've created that I'm using for the web clip, there is an embedded Youtube video. The sound for the video is not working. Why is the sound not working? It works in safari if go to Youtube.

My computer also recently downloaded soundflower? I didn't approve of this change
I'm not sure what that means, but if Soundflower really is installed, uninstall it according to the developer's instructions. Back up all data before making any changes. Reboot and test.
