Widget Game Not Working

I downloaded Asteroids and Froggster Widgets. Both show the Quiktime logo with a question mark? I have Quicktime installed and functioning.
Any ideas?

  • Some Widget does not work after latest upgrade

Today is July 23rd, 2011. By recent latest upgrade, mainly for supporting Lion, where I am still using Snow Leopard 10.6.8, some widget does not work, including Battery Meter, Digital Clock Alarm, Victoria Digital Clock, etc.
By the way, my company use Chatter and I installed Chatter Desktop. Again, after recent upgrade, it no longer work anymore.
Do you experience the same problem?
For those who has upgraded to Lion, do you also find some widget does not work?

I have read a couple of complaints like that, but not sure it's widespread.
At this point I think you should get Applejack...
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15667/applejack
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
    Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.
If that does NOT help, Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Then move these files to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist
    Reboot & test.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.
If that does NOT help then I suspect the optical drive or media itself, or possibly just needs a cleaning CD run on it.

  • Is it still the case that the Muse CC Forms widget will not work properly unless you have Business Catalyst?

I am looking into options for our next office website redesign.  We will definitely need a forms function.  I downloaded the Muse CC free trial and went through all of the tutorials.  The video on the forms (Contact Form) stated that the forms widget would not work or would not work properly if you do not have Business Catalyst.  I'm hoping that has changed since the video was created.
Is this still true that you need to purchase the Business Catalyst product for Muse CC form widgets to work correcty???

Piruki have you tried utilizing the Previous version option within the Creative Cloud Desktop application?  You can find additional details under the install Previous version section of CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.

  • My Stocks widget is not working.  The graph part works, but not the stock value section.

My Stock widget is not working.  No prices are displayed.  Fix?

If it is the Apple provided widget, Yahoo! Finance, there have been a rash of problems lately - see the More Like This box at the top right.
    1. If you have any mutual funds loaded, try removing them.
    2. Try opening a 2nd copy of the widget. That has worked for me a couple of times.
    3. If you have a backup, try restoring the widget. It is normally in the hard drive/Library. It might be in your user folder/Libary also. See below on how to access your user library.
    4. Try removing the com.apple.dashboard.plist in your user folder.
You need to look in your user Library/Preferences for the .plist. Either hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dashboard.plist.  Move the .plist to your desktop.
Log out/in and test. If it works okay, delete the plist(s) from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist(s) to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
    Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

  • Third  party widget's not working

Third party widgets not working (Festive lights & Christmas countdown)could it be that they can't connect to the internet

Suggest checking the widgets' developer's web pages for information on compatibility.  My quick glance at the Festive Lights homepage suggests it hasn't been updated since the version produced for compatibility with Tiger.  I don't know how they work, but they may need updating for compatibility with Lion.

  • Games not working on Steam (is it 64bits now?)

After months of playing games with Steam, the last few with that long command to load the libs, it is not working for me anymore (the games, Steam works). Last time I played was yesterday, less than 24h hours ago.
    On loading it says:
    Running Steam on arch  64-bit
    STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
Which is strange, because I always thought it was 32b, so it may be new.
When I want to play a game, in my case Dota2, it says it cannot find the opengl entry point. Video card unsupported or update drivers.
What follows is the error I am getting:

Worked for me, thanks. I had already removed at least some libs in the past, I guess a recent update either restored them or cause a new incompatiblity.

  • Old Mac games not working

I've just found a box with some of my favourite old Mac games in that I used with my old Lime iMac. Titles such as FA/18 Hornet, Command and Conquer and Railroad Tycoon amongst others. I also have some education disks that are invaluable resources. I've tried loading them onto my MacBook Pro and it says each title cannot be loaded as it's not supported on this computer. How can this be? Surely these titles are back compatible? Is there anything I can do to load them on and use them or are they now useless? Thanks in advance!

Rosetta is the built-in translator for OS X PPC apps. It works with many, but not all, apps:
    http://www.macintouch.com/imacintel/rosettacompat.html
However, it does not work with OS 9 apps (which PPC Macs running OS X could run in the Classic environment). To run those on an Intel Mac, you can try SheepSaver:
    http://gwenole.beauchesne.info/projects/sheepshaver/
That's a bit involved, as it requires you to have OS 9.0.4 or earlier install discs, and you need to have access to a PowerPC Mac to extract the bootROM from it.
Frankly, you are probably better off 1) finding new games to play and contacting the vendor(s) of the educational/medical materials to see if they have an updated version or 2) getting an old Mac to run those on.
~I've got a PowerMac 6500/225 sitting in my basement, 2 GB HDD, built in Zip drive (remember those?), still runs great!~
    Hope this helps...

  • Game not working in Internet Explorer

I am learning to code in flash by making simple virtual paper doll games.  My most recent works fine in Safari and Chrome, but in IE gets the dreaded "a script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash to run slowly" and either refuses to load or plays everything immobile and blinking.
The game can be seen (or not seen, depending on browser) here: http://siamesa.deviantart.com/art/Mesmer-Dress-Up-276690752?q=gallery%3Asiamesa&qo=0
It seems to load until around the 20% mark and then freeze.  The game also works fine when directly in my computer instead of on the web.
Could anyone help?  I am a total novice and have no idea what to do.

i don't know what to tell about their embedding except it's a mess that looks like it links directly to the swf and not the html.  so, if you can't upload to your own server, you're stuck with their faulty embedding or must find someone else to host your files.

  • Online game not working

I am trying to play spades on msn games and it says it requires internet explorer 7 or later and is not working on safari or google chrome. Is there any way around this? If not how can I download IE 7 for free?
After I click on the game and click play now it redirects a few times and then a page comes up that says "page not found"

You are not running windows on your mac?
Because that's the only way to run IE7.
You can't run IE7 on the mac OS. It doesn't exist.  IE for the mac stopped being supported several years ago.
And you can hardly expect MSN to be terribly Mac friendly.
    Still, you might try:
    * Firefox
    or
    * Enabling the developer menu (Safari Preferences, Advanced tab) and from the Develop menu, User Agent, specify Internet Explorer. This might fool those DBs at MSN.

  • Question on games not working

Why all the games are not working?

Yes, what is going on with certain apps? Star Wars: Force Unleashed; two of the Deathspank games (1 I just downloaded!); Unstoppable Gorg. They launched fine when I was on 10.6. Now on 10.8, they launch once (or 0, in the case of Deathspank) and when I launch them again"Force Quit" just says they're not responding.
    What gives, Apple?

  • AVP2 Internet Game not working

    Hello,
I purchased a game (AVP2) and after talking to support.
I was told that the internet gaming function will not work because I have OSX 10.4
I would need to install an older OSX version like 10.2
Is it possible to run both OSX versions?
    Thanks
    Frank

    I have OSX 10.4.
I would need to install an older OSX version like 10.2
Is it possible to run both OSX versions?
    I'm not sure.
    But I
    b do
know that Apple says that you shouldn't install a version of Mac OS X older than what came originally on your computer.
Does the above mean that if OS X 10.2 came installed on your computer originally, then you could run both 10.2 and 10.4? I just don't know.

  • Games not working 11.9

since updating to 11.9 loads of my facebook games will not work. The flash player says it is working but at least half of the games will not load. I have had this problem since the update & have had to system restore several times now to go back to the previous version (which works fine). I dont really want to do another system restore as it means putting back a lot of other things I have recently installed I am using windows 7 (64bit) & mozilla firefox. Please fix this, its driving me mad! Is there any way I can just stick to the old version which I was perfectly happy with.

    Do a "full clean install".
Download the following files directly by right clicking these links and selecting "Save target as" (IE) or "Save Link as"(Firefox).
    Flash Player Uninstaller
    Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    Shockwave Player 12 FULL Installer
Save the files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT run anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything, go to the Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLERS to remove all instances of Flash Player and Shockwave.
Next, run the Shockwave installer, and then the Flash Player (other browsers) Installer.
