Widget produces white empty box only and no video??

I am using Windows Vista and Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash (plus adobe premier elements 9 and photoshop) for a thesis project. On my post below, I found the answer to why Widget would not insert. Original issue before Widget was my flv videos would not insert correctly in the codes page, and I only saw empty white boxes on the site, no videos. I then downloaded Widget hoping to solve the problem. I am still seeing empty white boxes on the site with Widget. The videos look great in premier elements 9, at photoshop.com, and they are stored in my root folder in Dreamweaver. I don't understand why I have been trying to upload these videos for two weeks at least and still do not have a solution. My project is due December 6. Please help. I don't want to embed a link and use a public video viewing site. I want the videos to show up on my pages. I printed the tutorial information on installing widget, configuring it, etc and feel that was done correctly. After the insertion of the Widget, I changed the size dimensions, dragged my first video from the root folder to the code insertion point, and changed the source location. Am I missing some step to make these videos show up on my site pages? Desperate in Tennessee. Thanks!

Thank you! Yes, I read this page and several others. I bought a book as well on Dreamweaver and Flash and have read parts of both books on videos. I keep getting the white empty box on the site page and cannot figure it out. My videos looked great played in Premier element 9, at photoshop.com, and in other formats like windows media so I cannot understand they will not appear correctly on the web page. I contacted apple on the 28th of october for a repair on my ipod as it is no longer working. On my repair status it says empty box shipped and it should arrive within 2 business days. It is now Friday and the box still hasnt arrived.

For my experience i shipped my ipod on a monday, they had it for tuesday and got it back on wendesday but this is because apple put my ipod on express shipping with ups but dont worry about it you should be getting it within this weekend and no you don't have to sign for it, the package is fairly small. If the delivery truck goes by your house and no one is home they will leave a notification on your door saying so and on the paper will be options to eighter make a delivery date where you will be available, or tell them to withhold a package for you at one of thier locations and pick it up. If you choose to pick it up you will require to bring a state id with you that has your current adress. Hope this helps somewhat.

Paste attributes prompt box (only 1st linked video & audio clip)

what is up with that box? how can I avoid this? I need to paste attributes to all 4 audio tracks and not just the 1st one!
The box reads:
Paste Attributes will only use the first video and first linked audio clip for parameters and content to be pasted. Do you wish to continue?

You'll get that warning if you copied more than one clip. The message is telling you that it will only paste the attributes of the first clip of the group you selected.
To avoid that warning, you should only copy ONE clip. After you've copied one clip you can then past the attributes of that clip to as many clips as you select.

Why is my podcast subscription only downloading audio only and not video like before?

I have been subscribing to Mad Money on CNBC for years. I have always been able to download the podcast with video. Now the podcast is only downloading the audio portion only. Is there something that I am doing now or do I need to click something?

As others have posted elsewhere, CNBC (in their infinite wisdom) opted to drop the video. Of course that renders the podcast of little use, especially when Cramer gets into anything on charts. In fact, the Tuesday shows were the ones I made a point of watching for that very reason.

White console box appears when running dis51usr.exe

Hi all,
I have a user when she attempts to run Discoverer Desktop 10 either via shortcut or via command line by typing dis51usr.exe instead of the program opening a white empty box appears in the middle of the screen titled 'Console' and nothing else happens.
Any ideas?

The path looks right. On my PC, with Desktop and Admin, my path settings for Discoverer look like this:

%DISCO10%\jre\1.4.2\bin; (62 files and 1 folder)

I can't see anything wrong with the path. This is very mystifying. I think you may have to speak with Oracle Support. Other than the Discoverer installation being corrupt with one or more files missing I can't think why you would be seeing a white console box. I'll keep researching and if I come upon anything I will let you know. To help I have listed alongside each of my locations the number of files and fodlers I have. If yours is different there is a possibility of a corruption.

Stabilization and Optimize Video

If the stabilization box is checked when at 100% is there any stabilization taking place? It appears as though at 100%, unchecked or checked gives the same result - no stabilization.
At 101% and above though a visible reduction in shaking can be noticed.
If "optimize video" is then chosen after stabilization, iMovie alters the frames ie. applies a tone curve without user control (iMovie '09 ver 8.0.4 (807)).
It appears both stabilization and "optimize video" cannot be reversed or converted back to the original file and both stabilized only and "optimize video" have converted the video.
Questions for advanced users:
1. At 100% checked is there any stabilization taking place?
2. When optimized are you also finding tone curve shifts?
3. Is there any way to convert back to the original file once converted after stabilization or "optimize video" have been applied?
4. Is it best then to stabilize and optimize copies instead, so that original iPhoto videos are preserved in their original formats for future renditions?

I can only comment on your first question and hypothesize about your other questions...
Stabilization works by zooming into the footage and applying translations that counter act the shakiness that you typically see. If you apply stabilization in some more advanced systems but don't zoom in at all you can see a black border around your video that shakes. In iMovie you must zoom in at least 1% to get any stabilization. The more you zoom in the more stable iMovie can make your clip but you lose more of your video. You'll need to find an appropriate trade off to make your movies look their best.
Stabilization shouldn't have any effect on the clip on your drive. It should remain untouched. The same goes for optimization. I've seen that optimize video creates another clip in the Apple Intermediate Codec format in a folder called iMovie Speed Conversion. Look for those folders. If you delete them and go into iMovie it will use your original, unoptimized clip.

Have you recently deleted photos using the finder or run clean up software? Is so restore your backup
If not the backup your iPhoto Library and launch iPhoto while depressing the option and command keys. Rebuild your database

Creative Cloud Desktop displays only empty box

CC Desktop shows only empty box. Mousing over it does NOT bring up any display. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app without success. Running Windows 7 64 bit, NVIDIA GeForce GTX470 driver version 335.23. Any ideas?

Only a grey empty box in browser window

I only get a grey empty box in my browser windows, when I start the HTML-pages with the java applet "HelloWorldApplet" from the "my first cup of java" tutorial from the java-sun pages.
What can I do?
Other java applets work fine.
I have activated Java 2.
And the 4 programms from the java web start and other applets work fine.
It is only the one, that I compiled.

The Sun Java Console, that I can start from my Windows-browser does not output anything.
Looks like I got stuck here, right at the beginning.

New phone ordered and empty box delivered hell.

I have perused the forums and it seems I am not the only one with a similar horror story.
I ordered a new phone upgrade beginning of February. Package was delivered February 14th with nothing but a few pieces of paper in it. I immediately called Verizon and informed them of this. They told me they opened a ticket and to check back in several days. I called back several days later and was told it was still pending, but they would re-send the ticket, I was also told I would receive a text message with the ticket #. I never received that text. I called back a third time and was told, "my ticket had been approved and I should receive an email with tracking information for the new phone within a day." Well low and behold I never received that email.
I called back a 4th time and the representative seemed to struggle to locate anything regarding my prior calls. She then told me she would call me back in 3 days with an update. I never received that call back. I called a 5th time and was told by the representative that my ticket had been closed and that Verizon found no reason to send me a new phone, as the package had been delivered. At this point I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor basically said the same thing, however after a long conversation he said he would open a new ticket to investigate the transit of the shipment, as the previous ticket that had been opened was only for a lost or stolen phone. The supervisor told me Verizon investigated with Fedex and found nothing wrong. When I asked for proof of this, the supervisor sent me the instructions on how to log onto the Fedex website to see the order. Well all he gave me was the same information that you see on every tracking website. It was not a detailed breakdown of the weight in shipment. The supervisor told me to give him 3 days and he would call me back.
Well low and behold it is now past the third day and nothing from him. I have reached out to Fedex, both the 800# and the local transit facility in an attempt to retrieve the history of the weight in shipping. They have both confirmed that Verizon must be the one to file the claim to open the investigation into the package weight during shipment.
I really am at a loss as to where to go from here. I have a $230 upgrade bill due at the end of the month, yet I have no phone. I understand Verizon can't simply send out new iPhone 5s like hotcakes, but I also cannot pay for something I have not received. At this point I would even settle for a replacement 4s. I have been a loyal paying customer of Verizon for 10 plus years, always paid my bill on time and now this is how they are going to treat me?

Sorry to hear of your luck, the following actions need to be taken as quickly as possible.
First, contact Verizon support, do not speak with an agent, immediately request a supervisor. Explain to them the situation (again), be sure to include the hurdles of the tickets being open and you not being contacted by the supervisor you spoke to last time as promised. Next, inform them because you did not receive the phone you will not be paying for the phone, and that you will be disputing the charges, and demand to have your contract extension date reversed as you did not receive the phone you requested as a term of extending your contract. Be sure to tell him or her that you are planning on filing in small claims court.
He probably will not like being told all of that. If he does what you asked (reversing the contract extension, and refunding the money, or agreeing to send out a new phone of the same model) then you are good, just be sure you receive shipping confirmation.
Odds are, you will not get what you are asking for, and the demands will fall on deaf ears. That's OK though.
When you get the bill, immediately send via certified mail with receipt that you are disputing the charges for the phone ($199.99, $30 upgrade fee, and any applicable sales taxes and shipping costs). This now being in dispute cannot be put on a credit report (yet).
Finally, do not delay, file a case for small claims court, for the full amount you paid for the phone, plus taxes and shipping fees (if applicable) plus filing fees. Make sure you keep all your documents (shipping information, etc..) organized, be sure to bring the empty box and such as well as that may be needed.
At this point it will be up to Verizon to get any stolen material back from FedEx as you never received the goods, therefore you are not responsible.

Firefox 3.6 not properly displaying Flash Player files only a grey empty box. No internet tips worked.

Using FF 3.6 and Windows Vista. Downloaded latest version of Adobe Flashplayer 10.1. Websites show a grey empty box, no content. When right clicking the Flashplayer menu pops up, proving it is a swf flashfile. Adobe Flashplayer not shown in Plugin menu, only Shockwave flashplayer.

No, unless you are using a home theatre system already, your only option is to connect to the TV.

I'm afraid you'll have to get the phone serviced, dropping the phone must have damaged additional parts inside the phone.
But Apple will not service the phone anymore, opening the phone and replacing the battery should only be done by authorized personal, not by users.
You'll have to look for a 3rd party repair shop and see if they can fix this, sorry.
