Widget to add ".jpg" extension to files?

I've imported hundreds of photos into Ilife6 just fine. Turns out they do NOT have the .jpg extension, so when I click to edit (and it calls Photoshop elements), Photoshop won't open the file -- it doesn't recognize it.
Even though I photo sees it as a valid jpg file
1) is there a way to tell Photoshop to open it anyway?
2) is there a widget that I can point at a directory and have it add ".jpg" to all files. Then I can reimport them into iphoto.

Photoshop Elements 12 is failing to add the jpg extension to file names when I "save as" even though the jpg format is selected in the drop-down list

I've just been following my normal workflow and all of a sudden my saved files don't have the jpg extension. I'm not having this problem in other photo editing software I use. I haven't changed any settings. Anybody else have this problem?

The Local Settings folder is a hidden folder.
(1) If the file appears in the Downloads manager (Tools menu or Ctrl+j), you can right-click it and use Open Containing Folder to get directly to it.
(2) To be able to see hidden folders on Windows XP in general, try this:
Open My Computer or Windows Explorer
Tools > Folder Options > View tab
Scroll down and look for the checkbox regarding hidden files and folders and unhide them.
Hopefully this will resolve the issue. Any luck?
(3) By the way, you may be able to save the images from the email message to a more convenient location by right-clicking the links and using Save Link As. (Before you open them for editing.)

How To Remove .jpg extensions in Bridge Galleries

I am not sure why Adobe Bridge, which created Flash Galleries keeps .jpg extensions in the file name, but I would like to remove them.
This was never an issue in versions prior to CS 5.5.
When I open flash and try to remove the .jpg extension the files are not recognized by Bridge any longer.
What's even worse, is once the Flash Gallery is created in the htm file, the .jpg extensions still remain in the name portion. Kinda dumb since the photos are now part of an htm Flash Gallery, and no longer a .jpg file.
Is there any work around this?

One way I found to remove the file extension was to modify the group.xml file located in the resources folder. In that file you will find the folowing code for each image within the gallery:
For each image you should get the following code similar to this:

If you remove the .JPG extension within the <title></title> tags the gallery will display the name without it. HOWEVER the kicker for me at the moment is that it will only display as it should when testing locally. As soon as I upload to my web page server the images will not display. All other info such as site name, gallery name, styles etc. display correctly.
I'm at a loss as to why changing the title causes it to fail when uploaded yet works as it should locally.

Can't add jpg files to Premier Elements 9 timeline

When I try to add jpg files to Premiere Elements 9 timeline, I get an error saying "This file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed". Windows 7 can open/display every one of the jpg files. Photoshop Elements can open them as well. I appreciate any help.

I'm guessing your problem is caused by code validation errors: orphaned division tags for example, or mismatched code and document type (i.e. XHTML /> mixed with HTML > style closures).
Start by using the code validation tools below and fix any reported. You'll need an Internet connection for this:

.jpg extension in Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 please help

I am currently using Photoshop
Elements 7. When I went to save a photo, the .jpg extension has been dropped in the save as
dialog box. The only option I have is JPG 2000. I have installed the most recent update to Adobe. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the software and the extension is still not there. I have gone to the patch area, reviewed the forums, and can not find a fix. Is there a place in photoshop where I could have turned off the option? Or is there a patch/update I have not seen? What type of file is your source file? Make sure it's no more than 8 bit.
If using layers e.g. to add adjustments or text you fist need to click layers > Flatten Image and then save.
It’s possible the image is just too big - try to re-size.

The title of my initial post is a bit misleading. I already took a chance deleting one of the iPhones, hoping if I deleted the wrong one, I can still reauthorize it (all with the same Apple ID acct, so not subject to 90-day waiting period, right?) The iTunes database just updated itself, and it says I have 4 "devices" "in the Cloud", but 5 "computers" associated w my account. How can I find out what computers are associated? Isn't there a list I can see? I dont have a clue what computers they might be. If I use the "Deauthorize All" option, is it a pain to add them all back in. I assume I would have to log in from each computer to reauthorize each one. Would I have to be running the newest OS or version of iTunes to reauthorize? I think I have a PowerBook G4 Titanium with an older OS and iTunes. I'd like to keep that authorized, if possible.

If you want the image to just be the background for a panel then you will need to subclass JPanel and override the paintComponent(Graphics) method. In the paintComponent(Graphics) method you will need to draw the image yourself using the Graphics.drawImage() method. For loading the image I would suggest using one of the ImageIO.read() methods.

Add native extensions to a projec in adobe flash cs 5.5

how can I add native extensions to an android project? I 'd like to add an *.ane file. I have the adobe flash cs 5.5 and actionscript 3.0. I have this information, Project properties -> Flex Build Path -> Native Extensions -> Add but I can't find the project properties on menu bar (not windows -> project). what is the flex???

You must get used to using the command line ADT tool if you wish to compile using an .ane. Flash CS5.5 does not have built in support such as Flash Builder to handle the ANE for you. Google 'adt compile ANE extension' and it will give you an example of using the adt command line tool with -extensionDir support for included extensions.
I ended up just buying Flash Builder.. Chief problem being certain ANEs will require certain version SWFs to compile against and it's not easy to get Flash CS5.5 to give you, say, a version 14 SWF.

Cannot add artwork to certain files

I am using the latest version of iTunes (7.3.2(6)) and I am having a frustrating problem. For certain music files, I am unable to add artwork. I am aware that some people were having this issue with AIFF files, but I am also having it with AAC files. For instance, I have one album consisting of 10 tracks, all of them AAC files at 192 kbps. I see the "Drag Artwork Here" message in the lower right corner of my screen, and when I drag an appropriately sized jpeg to the image, it seems to stay put. If I highlight another file, and then go back to the first one, the artwork that was there a minute ago has vanished. There doesn't seem to be any way to add artwork to these files.
I have had the same issue with other albums: can add artwork to some tracks and they stay just fine, and others disappear immediately after adding them. I did not have this problem with previous versions of iTunes.
Anyone else experiencing this issue with AAC files? Any suggestions?

I had the same problem. So I closed iTunes and located the files in the finder and it turned out some of the files I had ripped eons ago were .mpg instead of .mp3. I just changed the extension on these old files to .mp3 and the artwork I had pasted miraculously appeared the next time I opened iTunes. Not sure if just changing the extension is the best way to deal with this for all file types, but it worked for me.
PS I was also having problems with the files holding artist name changes - this also fixed that problem.

When I go to Tools Add-ons, nothings shows under Add-ons, Extensions, etc.

The only clickable item there is "check for updates." My add-ons are all working, but none show up. Same for Extensions, Appearance, Plugins, Services.
I don't know how long it's been this way, because I've had no need to check until last Friday, when I picked up some malware that slides open a tab from the right-hand side of my screen with "Hot Deals" on it.
Firefox's "Automatically add" option tells me that listed below are my add-ons (though I can't see them in my own Add-ons tab). There are several there I don't recognize at all, but I have no idea how I can remove them without that page properly loading.

If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)
*If you have many extensions then first enable half of the extensions to test which half has the problem.
*Continue to divide the bad half that still has the issue until you find which one is causing it.

PSE 9 Organizer error codec trying to add an Elements audio file to slide show

I am using PSE 9 to build a slide show. When I add audio, I can use mp3's from my music library in the slide show without any issues ...
but I am getting the following error when I try to add an Elements audio file (example " A _Taste_Of_Sicily.mp3)
This is the Organizer error message:
"Unable to add the audio file (C:\ProgramData\Adobe\ElementsOrganizer\8.0\Music\A_Taste_Of_Sicily.mp3).
The selected file cannot be played because your system does not have the required compresser/decompresser(codec) installed."
I had PSE 8 and upgraded to PSE 9 - I noticed the error file detail shows 8.0 - Is this my problem - maybe an incomplete upgrade ? (I've made several slideshows mixing photos and music, on an older computer using PSE 8 and never ran into this issue.)

Does that file extension really have a space in it? If so, remove the space.

Exporting Images - some have no jpg extension

When exploring images to folder on my desktop to prepare to send to service bureau. I go through the process of exporting the images, save in original format or JPG, full images size.
Of 30 images, 8 have no jpg extension and I get the error message.
The document "IMG_2415" could not be opened. ColorSync Utility cannot open files of this type.
I do not believe they are raw images, I pulled those out. I may have done some alterations in iphoto, yet several back and white images retained their jpg extension.

I don't believe you can add an .ico file to a JButton. This section from the Swing tutorial on "How to Use Buttons" will show you how to add a .jpg to a button:

When downloading a .csv file in Safari, it adds .xls, making the file filename.cvs.xls

I had found a fix on my old macbook, but just got a new MBP and it's happening again.

Working from my defective memory, this happened to me, but stopped if I unchecked 'Open safe files after downloading' in Safari Preferences/General.
At least I think that's how I stopped it - it hasn't happened since!
