Widgets in dock enlarged

Just today after having my Mac for about a year the Widgets in the dock are getting bigger when you move the mouse over them. I have no idea what cause dthis to happen any ideas why and how to change it back Thanks

You can adjust the Dock preferences and change how the
icons in the Dock appear, and also move the Dock location
from the bottom of the screen, to the left or right side.
Under the blue Apple in main Finder desktop window, you
can see Dock is listed there; simple settings can be changed
without opening Dock Preferences, or you may have to go
there to use more detailed choices in changing the settings.
You can also visit the Dock panel in System Preferences to
access and make changes to settings in there.
It is possible that some obscure or accidental use of keyboard
shortcuts may have changed the Dock settings.
As a matter of course, for general system upkeep, such things
as using Disk Utility to 'repair disk permissions' on the Mac is
recommended; it would not fix this matter you wrote of, but
can help background system functions. Routine or preventative
maintenance can include tasks often forgotten or not done.
On rare occasion, the lack of system maintenance can yield
odd behavior in Mac OS X. That is another topic, however.
You can change Dock settings and other system settings;
and if accidentally you've done so, the preference panels
in System Preferences give you some access into them.
Good luck & happy computing!

  • My widgets and dock don't function like it used to - no  ⊗

My dock no longer has a ⊗ next to it and I cannot access my widgets unless I goto home/library/widgets and click on the only widget listed there (business.wdgt).
Once I click on that, all of my widgets show as does the ⊗ but once I click back on another application the widgets disappear and I am back to having to goto finder to restart them and my ⊗ is gone again.
I am very new to the Mac so I am sure it is something that I did but cannot seem to figure out - any advice most appreciated.

The F12 key gets you to "Dashboard" -- when F12 is pressed, the display becomes grey and the widgets swoop in -- and the + (in a circle) becomes visible in the lower right.
The + icon allows you to manage your widgets.
The "Dock" is another and entirely different crop of icons, typically at the bottom of the main display.
You can use System Preferences from the Dock to set up Expose and Widgets in hot corners; when you move the mouse to one of the corners of the main display, you can set actins such as making Dashboard visible.

  • Error Loading Weather widget when docked

I just got the multimedia dock for the Droid X and the weather widget fails to load. Any ideas how to repair this and make it work?
Thanks for any help in this, love the device as I gave up my iPhone for this and will never go back!!!

Okay, just found the answer with the help of Google...
1 } While docked, press the widget and hold...drag to trash
2 } Hold finger in spot where widget was. menu will appear to "Add to Desk Home"
    3 } Select "Dock Widgets"
4 } Select "Weather" (as in my case) or whatever widget was having trouble loading.
So simple. Thanks to all who have helped and I hope this helps others!

  • HTML Widget zooming effect

    Hi,
I am trying to make my HTML Widgets in my iBooks Author book to being fired up when user taps on a small button in the side of the book.
For that sake, I place my widget first, then I drag my small button graphic to the widget area so it becomes the poster image of it.
Problem is that when I test my book and I tap on the button, there's always a "zooming effect" of the button prior to execute the Widget itself, that enlarges the little png for a little while, so it shows the big pixel jagged image. I don't like this effect, is there any way to get rid of it?
    Thank you,
    Ignacio

I am just using finally this workaround:
    1) Place the HTML widget as usual, but without poster image, nor Title, Background... so it is sort of a "transparent hot spot" in the book
    2) I draw a figure with text inside, as a button, and organize it so it lies below this transparent widget
When I run the book in the iPad, I see a crisp, clear button that I cap tap and the Widget plays at full screen without that annoying jagged PNG zoomed in.
Same thing if you use an image button rather than a figure.
    Greetings,
    Ignacio

  • Safari crashes every time I try to open.

I have had some major problems that started this morning. I am a new Mac user and would appreciate any help that can be given. In addition to this problem when I started my computer this morning all of my user preferences were wiped out. Background changed, widgets reset, dock reset. I'm not sure if it is related or not.
Here is the problem report from Safari:

  • Why no apple support

Having read Apple's help pages extensively for an answer - their advice is to contact my email provider for support.
Since Apple are my email providers - I need to contact them to get my email working again.
However, there is no Apple Support offered.
Has anyone out there got a clue what to do in such instances ?
I really need access to my email urgently

  • Why No Apple Support return calls?

Scheduled 3 calls with Apple Support, got one call and then hung up on. Called AppleCare directly, busy signal. Never had this happen before. Is anyone else having this problem? My iPhone is on, my sound is on, I used it earlier for a call, no problem.

  • I want to create an image gallery with forward back nav, master image with a click to pop out zoom

    Hi Musers,
I'm currently building a photography website and need some help building a specific type of gallery.
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Below is a description of the gallery I want to build:
On the gallery page the gallery appears as a single 'Master Image' with forward and back 'Navs.' and a 'Counter' underneath this single 'Master Image'. Lets say that there are 10 images in this gallery. When the viewer clicks on the forward 'Nav.' the 'Master Image' changes to the next image in the sequence of 10 and the 'Counter' below confirms this progression, in this example the 'Counter' changes from 1 of 10 to read 2 of 10, the 'Master Image' displayed is the second image in the sequence.
Simple so far.. This above I can do as this is just a basic gallery. What follows is what I cannot find a solution for.
I want the gallery viewer to be able to click on the 'Master Image' and launch an enlargement of that image overlaying the gallery page, very much like the way the 'Lightbox' widget displays an enlarged image. When the viewer clicks off the 'Ligtbox' or enlarged image it dissapears, reverting the page view back to the standard gallery view with 'Master Image', 'Navs.' and 'Counter'. I do not want the expanded / Enlarged 'Lightbox' image accompanied by a thumbnail gallery, 'Navs.' / Navigation arrows or a 'Counter'. What I want is to be able to launch an enlarged version of the 'Master Image' as an overlay on the gallery page, something like a pop out.
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Can anyone explain how I can do this? Is it possible?
The solution I want seems to be a highbrid between the standard gallery with navigation arrows kept but minus thumbnails and captions with some of the functionality of the lightbox gallery widget.
I very much appreciate any help anyone can give.
    Thank you

    Hi Harriet,
Thanks for the message. I'm sure as time goes on new features will be introduced but it's a bit of a shame that the widget library is a little basic, oh, and at times it's just that little bit buggy. So far I'm really impressed by Muse despite being ever so slightly disappointed by some of it's limitations. I'd like to see more image gallery options, the ability to set up a client login area or a client ftp within a site, I also tried embedding video but as I'm no programmer the result looked clumsy so some focus on this would be a help. Considering that a good number of people benefiting from a Muse site will be online retailers a zoom function should have been there from the start.
    Best regards
    Jacques

  • Memory leak in Mail, after X'mas

It seem this is not a common problem as I can only find out 1 similar topic in here.
My Mail.app start have a problem a couple days ago. Start Mail.app and it download all new email without a problem. (I have two account over there: .Mac and Gmail IMAP) However around 10 seconds my computer start very slow and around 20 second my whole OS without respond. (can't make dock enlarge or expose cannot function) The working "wheel" keep remain on "Sent" item but the activity panel told nothing to do in Mail.app. After few minutes of unresponding the program quit by itself and what I can choose is error report to Apple.
I try to open the Activity monitor with Mail.app. I found the Mail.app will use around 80-90% of CPU resource and eat all of my free real memory (I have 2G ram and usually 1.xx ram ate by Mail) and the virtual memory start up to 3.9x G by Mail.app, at that time my computer will stop working and I need to wait until the OS kill the Mail.app.
    my computer: MBP C2D 2.16, 2G ram
    OS: 10.5.1
    HELP!!! Thanks!

The same thing happened to me this morning. I noticed that the Mail program was using 100.2% of cpu constantly, and i could not shut it down unless i forced it to quit. After some checking around, I noticed that the Mail progress bar at the lower left showed an incoming message each time I launched Mail, but the message never appeared in the inbox. I signed on to my mail account thru Safari and saw that a friend sent an 8.9mb message, but I could not see or find the attachment. So, I deleted the mail, and emptied the trash while signed on in Safari. Went back to Mail, and everything seems ok now. Hope this helps you.

  • Share Screen Malfunction: Curser NOT pointing true

I posted about this issue once before, but I wasn't clear enough about the problem. Let me try again...
I am using a brand new MacBook Pro (Retina, OS X 10.8.3) to Share Screen and access an older MacBook Pro (c. 2008, also OSX 10.8.3).
However, when in Share Screen, the curser does not point to its true position. I can see the icons in the Dock enlarging when the Share Screen curser is several inches up and to their left.
Here is a Screen Shot of the Trash Dock icon enlarging when the curser is NOT pointed at it (viewing the old Pro's desktop from the new Pro using Share Screen):
I have tried adjusting the Share Screen preferences (Scaling On or Off; Adaptive or Full Quality) with the same issue. I have also tried other VNC applications (Chicken of the VNC) and am experiencing the same malfunction.
Has anyone encountered this specific problem? Does anyone have a solution?
    Thank you.

    Hello,
I'm having the same issue here on my mums 2013 Macbook pro Retina its the 2.3Ghz/512GB/16GB model
doesnt seem to matter what I do either same Issue, just freezes. I get to the login screen of her mac from mine and then it freezes, cpu fan kicks on and must be rebooted.
    she is running OSX 10.9.1
its a real bummer, because we need some form of remote desktop so I can help her out.
anyways, hope someone has some answers, where you able to find a fix there William?
    Thanks,

  • ITunes wants to delete my music. I don't want it to...

I have recently put in a new harddrive as my old one clapped out.
I have just installed the new iTunes and connected my iPod and its telling me that my new iTunes isn't the right one for my iPod.
If I want to sync it with this version, it will have to delete all the stuff on my iPod.
Is there any way around this? The old iTunes I used was lost on my old harddrive?
If not, is there anyway I can get all of my songs off my iPod by acessing it as a hard disc drive before I sync it with the new iTunes?

Those syncing services will stop working as soon you migrate from MobileMe to iCloud. In addition, Apple says that while MobileMe members can no longer upgrade to a Family Pack or buy additional MobileMe storage, Family Pack members will be able to transition their accounts to iCloud individually, as long as it’s done before June 30, 2012.

    August 2012:
As of today, visitors to MobileMe.com are no longer given the option to convert their accounts to iCloud or to retrieve old photos and files, with Apple now simply pointing users to iCloud.

  • How do I get my widgets icon back on the dock?

Help. All of a sudden my icon for widgets (speedometer) disappeared from the dock. I can still get to it by pressing F12 but I can't find a way to get it back on the dock. Does anyone have a solution?

What happens if you enter Dashboard in Spotlight?
If you do not find the Dashboard.app with Spotlight it is most likely gone, but you could get Pacifist and extract Dashboard from your Tiger Installation disk.
