Widgets resizing themselves when IBA is shutdown?

I'm having an increasingly frustrating problem when I shut down IBA.
I have been working on a project for a week or so now and have noticed that when I have saved and closed the project that there has been a couple of slight layout changes where the gallery widget has changed size after IBA has been shut down. As I have been working on the same project all day I have only been closing it down when I have finished work for the day. As they were only slight alterations I haven't reacted to them too much.
However, today I decided I needed to address the issue. In doing so I have been closing IBA down more frequently to see what results occurred. This has caused further problems. Now, rather than one or two of the widgets changing size most of them throughout the project have changed in one way or another at some point.
What I'm finding frustrating is that there is no pattern to the changes. I have been through the entire project and altered the size back to how I had them originally, then shut the project down, reopened it and alterations have occurred. I have then altered those changes closed it down and then reopened it and different changes have occurred. I keep repeating the process and the same changes keep happening but there is no consistency to when they happen.
I can of course solve this issue when the project is completed by making all the changes prior to exporting the project and closing IBA. However, this shouldn't be happening and I wonder if it is my error or if there is a slight glitch.
Any advice would be helpful.

The PNG files are actually 96dpi, changing them to 72dpi
makes no difference... they still "shrink" when dragged to the
stage! This is frustrating as it only happens in CS3, dragging the
96dpi PNG to Flash 8 does not resize the image... it still looks
good.

  • In iOS 7, apps refresh themselves when switching back to them

I often work with one app and switch to another app, then return to the original.  After upgrading to iOS 7, it seems that apps (or web pages in Safari) now sometimes refresh or reload themselves when I switch back to them rather than simply presenting me with what I had before.  It's not a behavior I like. For instance, say I'm looking at a photo in my photo app Photo Manager Pro.  I switch to another app, then when I come back, Photo Manager Pro seems to reload itself and starts all over at its splash screen, so it takes extra tapping to get back to the picture I was looking at.  And Safari sometimes refreshes web pages when you return to Safari from another app.
It seems to happen sometimes but not others, and I can't figture out the pattern.
I don't think this has to do with the "Background App Refresh" feature as none of these auto-refreshing apps are in the apps list under Settings -> General --> Background App Refresh.
Any help in figuring out what's going on?

This is a problem many and probably all are having with iOS7 "Multitasking."
Here is probably the largest and most helpful thread about it, but it doesn't fix anything: https://discussions.apple.com/message/24582055#24582055

  • When I press shutdown nothing happen in KDE

after long time I update my arch linux with pacman and many packages like KDE update to new version , but after upgrade packages and reboot system by command I see error about udev and HAL ,when system boot , and when I choose shutdown option in KDE nothing happen and my system can not shutdown and I have to shutdown it with halt -p command . I do knoww what happen and why it does not shutdown.

I cant explain why but this seemed to work for me:
    Try installing phonon-vlc
    pacman -S phonon-vlc
and changing the phonon settings under System Settings > Multimedia > Phonon > Backend to prefer vlc over Xine(or whatever other backend you are using).
You may have to reboot before it starts working.
Its apparently some old bug that must have crept in once again. I would really like it if anyone can give me an explanation as to why this happened and why changing to phonon-vlc fixed it.

  • Resize datafile when database is mount

    Hello,
I need resize datafile when database is mount not open(I recover database).
    Is it posible?

Try making the tablespace offline, opening the database and resizing the datafile. After you resize the datafile, recover the tablespace or just the datafile.
In Oracle documentation: Backup & Recovery Guide, you can find more details of these options:
    =>RECOVER TABLESPACE Statement
RECOVER TABLESPACE performs media recovery on all datafiles in the tablespaces listed. For example, enter the following at the SQL prompt to recover tablespace TBS_1:
    RECOVER TABLESPACE tbs_1
The tablespaces must be offline to perform the recovery. Oracle indicates an error if none of the files require recovery.
    => RECOVER DATAFILE Statement
RECOVER DATAFILE lists the datafiles to be recovered. For example, enter the following at the SQL prompt to recover datafile /oracle/dbs/tbs_22.f:
    RECOVER DATAFILE '/oracle/dbs/tbs_22.f'
The database can be open or closed, provided that you can acquire the media recovery locks. If the database is open in any instance, then datafile recovery can only recover offline files.
    Hope it helps.

  • My Macbook Pro won't charge when it's on, only charges VERY slowly when it is shutdown

My Macbook Pro won't charge when it's on. It only charges VERY slowly when it is shutdown. Recently when it was charging shutdown, I could not get it to turn on. The only way it turned on was by removing the charger from the Macbook Pro. This only happene one time but still wondering what is going on with this battery.
    Thanks for the help!

First see the MagSafe troubleshooting tips:Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters and check to see that all looks ok.  You might want to try using another charger in case the charger is faulty.  If that doesn't help, take the MacBook Pro and charger to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test the system to see where the fault is.

  • Show resize cursor when mouse hovers edge of window?

When I'm not using the standard window chrome, is there an easy way to show the resize cursor when the mouse hovers a window edge?

thanks, that's the component I was looking for (assuming I can now change the fonts, colour etc)
I have done the following and it kind of works: it should highlight the text and show the tooltip. However, it kind of gets stuck every now and then...two things: it takes some time before the tooltip appears (1 sec): is there a way to make it immediate, simultanous to the highligh? also, I have a few Jtextfield, as you may remember..as I hover the mouse over each of them, it all works fine, but when I go back to a jtextfield previously hovered over and highlighted, nothing happens, until I randomly click around and then works again. Any ideas? thanks a lot

((JTextField) e.getSource ()).selectAll(); // highlight the text

  • Resize Application Window on Mac Shutdown

    Hello,
I want to be able to run this AppleScript automatically during my Mac's shutdown, so Safari is positioned "correctly" next time I start my computer.  It works great if I run the application from Finder, however once I created a Logout Hook to run this AppleScript, the window is no longer being resized (the AppleScript is defiently running during shutdown).
    tell application "Safari"
      activate
              set bounds of front window to {328, 22, 1352, 962}
      quit
    end tell
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

You have very little control over the order of processes in a shutdown scenario - if Safari has already quit before your LoginHook is called then you're just out of luck.
Instead, consider turning your problem on its head - rather than trying to fix it when you log out, why not fix it when you log IN.
A simple AppleScript as a login item that launches Safari and sets the window bounds as you prefer should take care of it, and won't have any execution order dependencies.

ok, so I think I have foud a solution that works for me.
I created this file and added the following lines
    /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
        Section "Device"
            Identifier  "Intel Graphics"
            Driver      "intel"
            Option      "AccelMethod"  "uxa"
          EndSection
I have shutdown 3 times and it has booted to the desktop everytime. When I remove this file and go back to sna it reproduces the error of the black screen.

  • Viewer Auto Resizes Columns – when too many columns

    Hi Guys,
I’ve created a report in Desktop and am viewing it through Viewer (4.1). The report itself is a simple ‘table’ report with quite a lot of columns. (that’s where my problem comes in). I’m trying to tidy it up (mostly column X), therefore have wrapped a few columns in Discoverer Desktop all should look good….right?… well not quite ;-(
When viewing the Report in Viewer, Viewer has automatically resized or shrunk the columns. I have 24 columns in the report and even after Viewer has done it’s own resize to my columns, I still need to use the scroll bar to view columns to the right. So what was the point of Viewer doing that in the first place? Anyways, column X was originally word wrapped and expanded to include a lengthy description, however after being “Viewered” it is now the width of the heading text itself. Data within this columns is still wrapped, but by the size of the column heading.
I’ve noticed that if I start taking columns out one by one, Viewer will resize and increase the column size by a tiny amount. So to be able to display column X as required in Viewer, I’d have to take out 18 columns to be left with 6, which would then show Column X as the right size.
Please tell me if there is any workaround or settings that can be amended in the Pref.txt file?
    Thanks,
    Lance

    Hi Lance
There is nothing you can do in 4i to control this behavior, one very good reason to upgrade.
Discoverer Viewer will resize its columns in an attempt to fit them on a single page. It does this very well when the number of columns allows this. When you have more columns than can fit into a single page you will get multiple pages. If you reduce the headings for some of the columns are you able to get it to compress into a single page? If not, I fear you cannot do more.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • How do I retain a PDF form widget's design when setting its value using Javacript in Acrobat?

I've been experimenting with interactive PDF forms in InDesign and JS in Acrobat. I think I've encountered something that might be a bug: widget design is overriden when using Javascript to set the field's value in Acrobat. Here's what a checkbox, for example, should look like when checked:
    However performing:
    var f = this.getField("Checkbox");
    f.value = "Yes";
in the JS Console results in the widget's appearance defaulting to acrobat's:
I've tried every single widget property documented in Acrobat's Javascript API Reference to no avail. Initially, checking/unchecking using the mouse works fine. Once the value has been set using JS, Acrobat's default black check character is used for all subsequent toggling, including when using the mouse...
How does InDesign export interactive PDFs with custom icons for widgets? Is there any way to enforce the use of those icons using JS in Acrobat Pro? What's the difference between selecting a checkbox or a radio button using the mouse and setting its value using JS?

I thought it might be the case, too, but all widgets have the same properties both before and after setting the value with JS. I did this check using all documented properties in Acrobat JS Reference in an attempt to figure out what might be going on.
By the way, I don't think Indesign necessarily uses glyphs for the checked state of widgets, although in this case a glyph is used (albeit with different stroke and fill colours for the glyph, acrobat doesn't allow setting these properties AFAIK). With Indesign CS6 it seems you can practically use any Indesign tool to design the widget's On and Off states. So I'm thinking that maybe Indesign exports these with button-like properties where there are no restrictions on appearance (I think there is an "icon" property/object for buttons or something like that). However Acrobat treats them as checkboxes, so if that is the case it is more of a hack. Is there a way to probe an object's various properties other than using JS or the properties pop-up dialog?

  • Why does Fireworks CS5 keep resizing images when I paste them?

I am having a problem in Fireworks CS5 where images that are copied and then pasted into a new document automatically re-size and become either very tiny or very large.
I have taken some screenshots to show this more clearly: (this website only allows me to upload images of 450 pixels across so they are not too clear)
Image 1: I have taken a large image and reduced its size to 100x100 pixels (highlighted in red).
Image 2: I have created a new document which is 100x100 pixels in size.
Image 3: I have copied the image from Image 1 (control + C) and then pasted it into Image 2 (control + V). The image was 100x100 and the new image was 100x100 yet when I paste the image it suddenly becomes 313x313 in size and is too large for the new image. Sometimes it becomes tiny when pasted and is too small for the document.
Can anyone help with this matter? Perhaps I am missing something obvious, but I have tried searching for solutions and tried a range of methods (different kinds of copy and paste etc), but nothing seems to help. Please let me know what I am missing!
Thank you for your help! As I said I am using Fireworks CS5. I am using Windows 7. If there is anything else you want to know just let me know.

I don't know what could be causing the copy/paste resizing issue, but here are a couple of ideas that may help with your workflow:
You can create a new document for animation by choosing File > Open..., selecting multiple images, and clicking the "Open as Animation" option. This will place each image file into its own State.
Consider using commands from the States panel fly-out menu—e.g., Duplicate State, Copy to States, etc.—to move objects from one state to another.
Other commands to copy objects within Fireworks include Edit > Duplicate and Edit > Clone. These do not involve the clipboard and may sidestep the resizing problem.
Sometimes with bitmaps, I like to convert them to symbols, as it allows me to resize the bitmap freely without losing the original resolution. (This might introduce extra steps, but it could allow you to correct the image size after it's been pasted incorrectly.)
It's a longshot, but I wonder if it would help to empty the clipboard contents once in a while, to clear out old data.
