Widows reporting ff crash after normal shutdown?

Minor exit problem, but now 2-3x in about one week.
About:crashes may show last weeks, but NOT today.
Nothing recent has brought up Moz crash reporter.
Noticed same xul.dll report, last week and today.
Below is from WINDOWS crash report today.
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: firefox.exe
Application Version: 19.0.2.4814
Application Timestamp: 5138a1d3
Fault Module Name: xul.dll

Exception Code: c0000005

Again, just a minor exit problem report, after an otherwise normal exit.

New but very similar crash info from today...
Still from the most used profile, but will now lean more to the other two (per the suggested profiles experiment). Still had been on facebook earlier, but was nowhere near there on exit today. Think the last tab closed today was either slate or wikipedia.
Still no Moz crash reporting window, at least not in any recent weeks. Still not shown in about:crashes, but last entries are twice on 2013.03.03, and once on 2013.01.06 before that. Unknown if directly related, but 3.3 could have been the known incident(s) from last week, when it did not yet seem to be any reoccurring issue. They cannot now be converted to bp-numbers due to "throttling," nor the two from this week because theses latest ones definitely don't even show up at all in about:crashes.
Again, all known incidents had no Moz crash window, just the Windows crash menu. Each time was immediately after an otherwise normal and intentional shutdown, and xul.dll was always reported as the fault module.

  • Unable to open production database after normal shutdown

    Hi,
We are using oracle database 10.2.0.3 on AIX 5.3 with ASM.

  • Crystal Report XI crashes after several printings.

I'm using Visual Studio 2003 with Crystal Report XI for reports.  My problem is, after printing around 30+ reports, with 4pages each, CR tends to crash.  I'm suspecting a memory leak, how do I fix this?

    Hi Tony,
    Try with this:
Run a command prompt as administrator. From the start menu, select "All Programs", then "Accessories" and right-click on the "Command Prompt" shortcut and choose "Run As Administrator". From here you can use the following command to disable Data Execution Prevention (DEP) with the following command:
    bcdedit.exe /set nx AlwaysOff
Keeping your command prompt open, run your setup or other process being stopped by DEP. Then, to turn it back on again, do the same and run the following:
    bcdedit.exe /set nx AlwaysOn
Its a known issue with vista operating system and this is workaround for it.
    Hope that helps!!

    Shweta

  • Blank screen after normal shutdown.

Yesterday night  shutdown my Toshiba Laptop but today morning when I power on my laptop it's just black. Nothing more.
Here is reference video which seems same problem to me.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSq-TD0xs1c
but I didn't update my BIOS.
Why it's happened. My Laptop model is TOSHIBA SATELLITE L305D S5934.
My warranty just expired on May 11, 2010 and now I am outside USA.
And I already opened my laptop nothing burn there. Some of my friends inform me that my Bios has been crashed or erased. So, can anybody help or inform me, How can I setup my Bios with a flash drive or cd.
    Please reply me.

Thanks to HenryW for his comments and suggestions on Christmas day.
Simply disconnecting and reconnecting the main cable from the PSU to the MB got my box back in business.  I always welcome easy victories.
I assume it was some kind of power anomaly that caused a circuit breaker like action in the MB so disconnecting the fully seated and secure cable, waiting a minute, then reconnecting was sufficient.
I have another issue, though, a NB fan that is not functioning.  I will make a second post about that after getting breakfast.

  • RAID 1 Hard Drives resync after normal shutdown and unplug from wall socket

    Hi,
Apologies if this is posted in the wrong Forum Category. Please guide me to the right one.
I have a Raid 1 on two disks on my machine.
If I shut down the system or restart everything runs smoothly. All disks (in Disk Management) are listed as healthy.
However, if I run the normal shut down process, and wait until the computer completely shuts down, and then unplug the computer from the wall socket, the disks have to resync the next time the computer is booted up again.
I don't understand why this is happening, since the change (of unplugging the computer from the wall) happened while it is turned off.
Any help in finding a solution would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Simon

    Hello Simon,
Do you mean that after completely shut down and unplug the power?
If you don’t unplug, does this issue exists?
If yes, it may be caused by the hardware issue, please contact the manufacturer to check.
Please make sure you have completely shut down the computer before the unplug. There are no fans running or LED light.

  • Report 9i crashes after slight changes in PL/SQL's SQL statement

    Hi,
I'm using Oracle 9i Report Builder.
In my Data Model I have an object (formula column) which I use PL/SQL to get a value.
In the PLSQL i have 9 SQL statements which I open. It was working ok until I add the 10th stment.
So, I'm wondering if there's any limitations to the no. of SQL statements that I can use in it?
It was compiled ok until I run the paper layout.
    Appreciate any ideas.
    TQ.

  • MacBookPro 17'' 2009, frequent Crash/Freezes after regular shutdowns, etc.

    Hi everybody!
    My Situation:
    MacBookPro 17'' Mid 2009
    OSX: 10.6.7
    Boot Camp: 3.2
Windows (on Boot Camp): W7 Ultimate 64bit german SP1
all SW and drivers updated as far as possible.
Since almost after the start of using Windows 7 I experiences frequent Blue Screens restarting the computer into Windows, even after regular shutdowns, but mainly after Stand-bys and Power Save (Ruhezustand) status.
Recently the harddisk has been replaced, since the system was totally corrupted (even OSX was not any more startable). But I still have the same problems. :-(((
Sometimes Windows claims, that the BIOS has to be updated, somtimes it claims memory has to be checkedö sometımes other errors are presented. But memory checks shows no problems and there is no new SMC firmware version available by Apple for this 17'' edition since its release (SMC EFI 1.8).
After several, at least 5, total reinstallations of Mac OSX, updates to the latest versions, reinstallations of Windows 7 (by Boot camp), updtes t0 its latest editions (W7: SP1 and aditional udates, BootCamp for Windows 3.1 and then 3.2) there are no improvements, but a huge frustration :((((
The funny and even more frustrating thing is that exactly the same OS setup, but just running on a MacBookPro 13'', shows no problem at all?
So I wonder, if there are any others out there experiencing aquivalent misbehaviors and if there are really not any updates available for the SMC firmware?
I would appreciate any kind of responses, even, if you are only able to complain the same bad experiences at least, since so far, I got no real answers despite several visits at Apple's Genuis Bar.
    Please Help!

It is strange the both computers exhibit the same behavior, so I would think it would be something installed on both. I don't know what it could be, though.
    Bootcamp shouldn't be causing that.
Create a new user on one of the machines and operate out of that login. See if the problem persists. If it doesn't recur, then we can isolate the problem to your user accounts and not the system itself.
Does a crash report get generated? Look in the Console app. Check the Diagnostic and Usage Messages. Also, look down through the list of logs and see if there is anything for CrashReporter or Hangreporter. Look for anything with Finder. I'm not sure what to look for in the logs. If you find one that occurred because of a crash you are talking about, then copy it and post here.
Edit: Also look for crashlogs for the programs that are crashing. I hooked in on the save dialog, tying it to Finder, but it is more likely tied to the app itself.

One thing that you can try is installing a 'fresh' version of OS X Lion. Boot into your Recovery partition (holding down the command and R keys whilst booting) and elect to install OS X from the Recovery screen. You need not erase your hard drive and you should not lose any of your data.
Oh, and just as a precaution, I would use Disk Utility, once you're in Recovery mode, to verify your hard drive before trying to install the OS again.

We have a problem with Windows 8 in combination with IE 10 and printing reports.
When we print a report from the Report Manager 'http://<servername>/reports' the browser crashed after a print.
Sometimes before printing and somthimes after printing or when you close the browser.

The same error occured when printing from our Internet application and the reportviewer.
(ASP application written in Visual Studio 2010 and reportviewer version 10.)

Is there a fix for this problem?

    Dear Mike Yin,
Thank you for your response. Your answer was the
reason for finding the real problem.
In december 2010 a SQL Server 2008 fix was the cause. I don't remember exactly the problem, but we changed the RSCLIENTPrint-x86.cab file. But instead to use the version of SQL Server 2008 we used the version of SQL Server 2008
    R2 (10.50.1600.1). This worked until
Windows 8 (Internet Explorer crashed when printing).
We fixed this problem by using the RSClientPrint-x86.cab file from SQL server 2008 (10.0.5500.0).
But we now get the known problem that the
activeX always must be installed again.
The reason for this is that the version of
    the SQL Server (10.0.5512.0)
and the rsclientprint.dll (10.0.5500.0) is different. SQL Server is newer (caused
    by a security patch (KB2716436)).
Do you know when this problem will be resolved
    by Microsoft?
    Work arrounds
I've also tried to install the RSClientprint.dll
every time automatically (without user interaction).
But this will be delayed the printing for more
    than 4 seconds. This
    is very annoying.
Another workaround is to generate a PDF and print the PDF. But this is also
    a lot slower.
Uninstall the security patch. but I don't know the security risk.

  • VS 2010 is crashing after installing SAP Crystal report 13.0.

    HI Experts.
I have seen many thread related to crashing in VS2010. I feel i am also getting the same error msg.
"Msg:Object reference set to an instance of an object - (Mouse move event)."
I didn't see any proper fix on this issue and I think i can give proper steps to reproduce that, Thats the reason i am posting this as new thread.
Here is my report structure and senario,
I have a sub repot which will display all the parameters and its values which i am setting through my C# application.
i am using crystal report viewer to show my reports. once i click on the subreport i used to get seperate preview tab for my parameters list.. if i click on refresh from this view, on the time of refreshing the application will crash on mouse click in reports. especially on click of that waiting cusor(Which is not there in cr2008). Report will work fine if its load immediatly. problem happening only the reports are taking few time to get load.
In brief, When the report is loading, if we click any where in report, application crashes.
Note:I was using VS2010 and CR2008-Sp3 before. all of my 150 reports are working fine on that time. Last week i have updated CR2008 with SAP Crystal report 13.0. This issue stared after that.
    Thanks in advance,
    Salah.

    Hi Don,
    Thanks for your reply.
I worked on this to get proper scenario for reproducing this issue. one thing i observed that,
crash is happening regularly the places which i have registered mouse double click event in crystal report viewer. My guess is,While loading the report(On click of refresh), the viewer is empty(bank).  That time if we do double click on the viewer its crashing. But confustion is getting error on mouse move event
Hope this will help you guys to reproduce the crash.
We people are really waiting to fix this issue asap. we are also woking in our application to catch the exception somehow. Will update you if i get any progress .
    Here is my exception text,

  • Most programs crash after latest update..

I just ran Software Update. It had all of the iApps, Quicktime, and the latest Security Update in it.
Then I rebooted. Next I installed the latest Xcode.
Once that finished I proceeded to run my regular apps, Mail, Adium, etc.
Mail starts, but after some amount of time (10 or 20 seconds) crashes displaying crash reporter.
Adium will run until you double-click a contact to open a message window.
So, not much else will run. Camino's fine, Opera seems Ok. But Safari crashes after a few seconds. I even went and manually downloaded the latest Security Update installer, and even it crashes!
Disk Utility seems to work fine, thankfully. I ran Verify Disk (it's Ok) and Repair Permissions (it fixed a couple of minor directory permissions) and I'm still SOL.
I'm an ex Windows guy, had the Mini just about a year now - so I'm pretty clueless on what to do next. Any help much appreciated!!!
    Thanks,
    Steve

    hi steve
at this point since this is a system wide issue you may want to consider archiving and installing your operating system. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120. this helps in a lot of cases like this. remember to repair disk beforehand, and do software updates. however, do not do the last update which created the problem. may get everything back to normal. good luck.

  • Frequent kernel crashing after 10.7.4

Yes, i know this has been discussed in many threads. Here's my story.
Early 2011 Macbook Pro (8,2).. was fast as **** when i got it with snow leopard. made one of the biggest mistakes of my life, upgrading to the worst operating system ever; mac os x lion. became considerably slow, and no i haven't tried a clean reinstall yet. not in the mood to go through all the hassle of backing up my apps then having them not work when i restore the backup and downloading them again.
Anyway, i think i've only had one kernel panic crash since then, which was random and normal i guess. that was sometime maybe in mid 2011. i recently upgraded my ram from 4 to 8gb (corsair) like i always did before with all my computers and i noticed how fast my mac was. it seemed perfect. i installed the recent thunderbolt update(s) that people have been getting kernel crashes with and everything was fine. no crashes. then came the dreaded 10.7.4, which i willingly installed (software update) since i've never had a problem with updates before. a while after, i kept getting kernel crashes but they weren't as frequent as they are now. maybe once or twice a week. as time passed, they continued to increase until today where i can't even use my mac for an hour without it crashing maybe 3-4 times. i can't do ANYTHING.
i tried to run AHT but when it connects to my wifi, i get a "!" icon over the earth icon, with "apple.com/support -1007D" or something under it, and nothing happens. i'm getting extremely sick of this and it's affecting my judgement about buying a new imac when they get upgraded soon. maybe switch to linux.
    anyway, my mac just crashed after i started up cinema 4d, and i decided i'd use my first post here to post up my report and see if anyone can figure out what's wrong;

  • Acrobat Plug In Container Crashes After Update to Acrobat Pro 10.1.3

After the 10.1.3 update was applied to Acrobat Pro X for Windows (on Windows 7 64-bit), the Acrobat Plug-In for Firefox crashes intermittently.  A dialog box will appear within the Firefox environment reporting the crash.  Firefox continues running without issue.
    Reported error:
Faulting application name: plugin-container.exe, version: 12.0.0.4493, time stamp: 0x4f920759
Faulting module name: Acrobat.dll, version: 10.1.3.23, time stamp: 0x4f7bd9b8
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x000bdf75
    Faulting process id: 0x1acc
    Faulting application start time: 0x01cd223736e368ee
    Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\plugin-container.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.dll
    Report Id: ba947bbf-8e2a-11e1-9d58-5c260a306abe
I attempted a repair of the Acrobat 10.1.3 install, but this does not resolve the error; nor does reinstalling or updating Firefox to the latest build.

    ry a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • Mac OS X 10.8 crashes after disconnecting the Thunderbolt display

Wondering if anyone can help my Mac OS X 10.8.5 crashes after I disconnect the thunderbolt display.
I normally work in the studio with my macbook connected to an external display.
When I go to use it without the thunderbolt display it crashes - 4 times in one day, which really isn't ideal when your freelancing.
I've checked my log files and I have a list of panic reports. I'm not too sure what I'm supposed to be looking for, but each of the reports refer to the graphics control. I've read online it might have something to do with the display sleep, so I've reset that.

    Hi Chloebat,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your MacBook Pro. If you continue to have intermittent but persistent crashing issues with your Mac, possibly related to the display, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:
