Width and height changes when exporting

When I export a vector design from Illustrator to raster (.jpg in this case), I am given the opportunity to select the "Use Artboards" feature. Once clicked, I assume my dimensions will not change. Here are my selected options:
"Use artboards" option is selected
Image quality: 10
Format method: Baseline (Standard)
Resolution: Depth: Screen
Custom: 72 DPI (grayed out)
However, when importing the .jpg file into Photoshop, the "Image Size" information reveals that one (1) pixel is added to the height and width.
Why does this occur? How can I be sure Illustrator's artboard size will remain the same when exporting?

Are you using "crooked" sizes? In that case sometimes the dimensions get adjusted to accomodated the compression algorithm, which is course based on blocks of a given size. also make sure to explicitly setup everything with units set to pixels. Rasterization of stuff based on other units can lead to inconsistent results. Also always define your artboards and slices at 100% zoom. You may accidentally create slightly too large stuff where the actual dimensions do not coincide with full pixels at other resolutions.

  • Single pixel loss in width and height in LR Export?

I am re-sizing on export- sometimes to jpeg, sometimes to tiff. I set the width at 1920 pixels and let the height default. Exports consistently come out at 1919x1279, 1919x1281, and sometimes 1919x1280. What's the issue?

Could the originals have been cropped; so they have slightly different aspect ratios?

  • Format Changes when Exporting to PDF

I'm using Crystal 12.0 and have an issue very similar to these threads listed below.
While viewing a report on my development machine, all is fine.  I can export to PDF and the formatting is OK.
However, when the report is exported to PDF on the web server, the spacing between some of the text is off.  The spacing is used for a CrossTab cell in a "Display String" that I changed using "Format Field."   All that's supposed to happen here is several spaces are used to move the text under the proper column.
When exporting to PDF on the web, the text moves over to the left like it's missing some of the spaces.  I wondering if the below threads apply to Crystal 12.0.

I'm having a very similar problem using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008. Everything is perfect when running in VS 2008, it takes the report and exports it to PDF format via VB code. The PDF file is idenitcal to the report. However, when run on the server the one page report (when exported to PDF) gets chopped into ten 4x4 chunks. So the PDF file is 10 pages....its like puzzle pieces of the original.
I've drawn a bunch of lines on the report to look like boxes - perhaps this is causing issues? The font on the report is Arial.
The server has the 10_5 runtime installed and it is set to the same default printer as the development PC. I have been stuck on this for days and would really appreciate any advice you may have.
    Thanks!

  • How to change the width and height of the visible part of the of the report

I have define a report with paper size 'Letter', orientation 'landscape' and 30 columns. Dynamically I am changing width of columns and suppressing many columns of the report.
Mostly using first 16-20 columns and others get suppressed.
Now problem is that when navigating the report thru crystal viewer, a huge blank spaces getting display on right of the report. When we take jump to some part of report thru navigation tree, the whole report gets shifted to left and only blank part is visible and it is required to scroll left.
Even printing is not working correctly.
Is there any way to change the width and height of the visible part of the report in the viewer thru .net classes? Setting the width and height of the report in Load event handler doesn't help.
    Example: CrystalReportViewer1.Width = 200; - is not helping.
    Is there any other solution?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

    Hi Yogesh,
Your suggestion 'reportDocument.PrintOptions.PaperSize=PaperSize.PaperLedger;' along with 'PaperOrientation' setting as follow works fine. I tried to switch between Landscape and Portrait depending on report width.
    reportDocument.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape;
But problem with crystal viewer remain as it is.
While navigating report thru crystal viewer, when we take jump to some part of report thru navigation tree, the whole report gets shifted to left and it is required to scroll left.
Thanks for your very good suggestion.

  • Change the width and height of Landscape Layout for a report in 10G

    Hi,
I'm new to reports and when i built the report in report builder 10g, the layout orientation was 'Landscape', hence I assumed that it'll be a landscape layout.
However, the width and height fields of the main section are 11 and 20 respectively. However, the height should ideally be 8.5. When i try to change it I get the following error message :
Layout canvas must remain large enough to fit layout objects.
Could you please tell me how to change the height of this landscape layout to 8.5 from 20.
The report has several main frames within a repeating frame, since the same report has to run multiple times.
Is it possible to have a repeating page across pages (crossing the horizontal margin) and hence have some of the main frames move down to the next page. I'm trying to do this to then be able to reduce the height of the main section of the report to 8.5. Its not working though because I'm getting the following error :
REP 1814 : Report cannot be formatted. Object "vertically" can never fit R_Main (the name of the repeating frame enclosing all objects)
    Thanks,
    Priyanka

To reduce the Hieght, first make the layout design fit into the new value..

  • Camera Image Display - changing width and height.

Ok, so I wrote this simple program, but for some reason i cant control the offsets, width and height (attributes related to the image display on front panel). When i go to MAX, i am able to change these attributes, why cant i do it in labview? Any ideas?

You need to put the width and height controls inside your loop to adjust while running.
From the image you provided, the width and height are set once outside the loop, and then you sit in the loop, so they can't be adjusted again.

  • How do you change the image size and resolution in photoshop everytime I change the width the height changes my measurements will not stay

Can someone assist me with changing image size and resolution.  each time I change the width the height changes and vice/versa?

There's a chain link between width and height. The point is to keep the aspect ratio the same, otherwise your picture would get stretched.
You click on the chain-link to shut that off and you can adjust width and height separately.
Also could you give us your version of Photoshop, what OS you are running it on (Windows 7 for example) and what exactly you want to do with your document?
Resolution is the print term for how many pixels will be printed on an inch of paper. It doesn't apply if your image is intended for screen viewing.

  • The crawled property of Image width and height - is there a differnce when the image is png format?

    Hi,
We are indexing file share with images and get the properties of Image Width, Image Height, Image Size (we show it as refiners in SharePoint after make it managed properties). Somehow when the picture is png format - we see only Size but not height and width.
Is that any setting that should be done in the file share (when i select an image in the windows explorer window i can see all its properties, and it seems that png files do expose the width and height properties
    keren tsur

    Hi  Keren,
According to your description, my understanding is that when you tried to  crawl file share with images, the ows_ImageWidth and ows_ImageHeight crawled property for PNG  file could not be generated.
For your issue, I can reproduce your issue in my SharePoint 2013 environment. For a workaround, you can upload the PNG images into SharePoint images Library and they would work fine.

  • Change width and height

Hello, how can i change widht and hight on iWeb?

welcome to the forum, to change anything in iweb use the inspector panel. Choose page - layout to alter the width and height. The inspector panel is at the bottom of the page and the page set-up is the second icon along the top of the panel. Hope that makes sense and gets you up and running.

  • Changing video frame width and height...

In Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5 I cannot seem to produce (output) a video larger than frame width: 720 and frame height: 480. The video is recorded in full HD 1920 x 1080p but after editing and adding effects in Premiere Pro CS5, the video changes to only 720 x 480.
    1) Where are the settings in Premiere Pro changed to produce a video size of frame width: 1280 and frame height: 720 or even frame width: 1920 and height: 1080?
    2) Is it possible to produce a video at 1920 x 1080 or is 720 x 480 the max?
    Your time is appreciated.

    John,
For now I will be using the videos for youtube promos and viewing on desktops but if I were, I would more likely output to DVD.  From what I understand it doesnt matter if I output 720 x 480 or 1920 x 1080 if it's going on youtube, however I would like the best quality video possible given that these videos wont be very long. (Elaborate on this if you can clear some stuff up for me).
Also, I may have mislead readers with my thread title "Changing video frame width and height."  I guess a more accurate title would be "How to Change frame width and height of Video Output."  Don't get me wrong 720 x 480 looks great on my desktop, but I would also like to output one at 1280 x 720?

  • Change width and height in a rich symbol

    Hi!
I'm trying to build a rich symbol in fw cs4 so I can use it in multiple projects and I'd need some boxes to scale to certain sizes I would assign through the properties panel.
Is it possible? I've seen in former versions that both width and height are read-only but I can't find anything for current version.
Also, if possible, can I set the x and y position?
    What I've been trying is:
    box.height = height;
    box.width  = width;
where box is an element (I've changed other properties and it works) and height and width are values (which also work)
    Thanks a lot

I need to know if this is possible, too!
    Hopefully this is working somehow.
    Thanks

  • Changing af:messages width and height

    Hi gang
Does anybody have a suggestion how I can expand the default width and height of the af:messages popup under JDev 11.1.1.2.0? From what I can see there are no styles defined in the skin, no properties on the component, and the inline style width/height properties are ignored.
    Your help appreciated.
    Regards,
    CM.

I have to agree with 9 of the 14 respondents Keyshia Cole's new nose is indeed natural looking :-)
The problem we're getting is two fold:
    a) Occasionally our error messages have long words, the messages tag isn't hard wrapping, and this is resulting in a horizontal scroll bar.
    b) Sometimes the number of messages displayed is greater than the vertical space, so we get a vertical scroll bar.
    c) Sometimes both, which looks cr@p.
The combination can make the app less user friendly as the user has trouble assessing/reading the error messages.
While we can do some minor tweaking to minimize word length and number of error messages, the preferred method would be just to increase the size of the dialog.
