Width changed when droplet set to 100% of source

I captured using firewire a source of HDV 1440 x 1080 24p in 60i from an HV20 into ProRes 422 HQ. The resulting file showed 1920 x 1080.
I then used my droplet that I always use on HV20 HDMI 24p in 60i captures (not HDV, this skips the MPEG compression and gives true 1920 x 1080).
For some reason, the resulting width from the droplet was 1440 x 1080 (even though the source file was 1920 x 1080 ProRes HQ.
1. For HDV capture, as I'm 'reverse telecine'ing the clip anyway, do I lose any info if I capture it as HDV (is there a 1 to 1 byte transfer without transcoding) - and then transcode to ProRes HQ while 'reverse telecine'ing.
2. Out of curiosity, why did it change the width back to 1440 when the source was 1920? I believe I recreate my droplet, and set it for fixed width of 1920 x 1080 - and this seemed to fix it.
3. Should the pixel aspect ratio be 'default' or 'square'?
4. Is there a way to open a droplet so that it can be edited?

Sounds like we have a very similar setup (HV30, HDMI capture, etc.).
What you are seeing is pretty typical, and I don't think it has anything to do with your droplet. I have been looking for a consistent solution to this issue myself.
Note that none of this should matter inside Final Cut, since FC will properly recognize the aspect ratio of the footage and show it properly. I only find this a problem if I am going through raw footage using Front Row or something like that.
When you capture via HDMI, the input is true 1920x1080 and your pixel aspect ratio is 1:1.
When you capture via firewire, the input is HDV 1440x1080 and your pixel aspect ratio is 0.75:1. Your initial capture files are marked to be shown at 1920x1080, and if you play them in Quicktime, they will show stretched as they should be. These files are not actually 1920x1080--they are just shown that way.
Once you do your 60i to 24p reverse telecine in Compressor, the resultant files no longer have the "tag" that tells Quicktime to show them at 1920x1080, and if you play them, they will be shown at a 1:1 pixel aspect ratio (1440x1080), which looks scrunched.
Before Quicktime 7.1, the solution was to load the file in Quicktime Pro, go into Movie Properties (CMD-J), and change the Visual Settings on the video track so the Scaled Size was 1920x1080 and save.
Recent changes to Quicktime have added a presentation aperture property which has made this even more complicated. Now you have to go into the Movie Properties, change the Presentation properties so that the "Conform aperture to:" is off, and then change the Scaled Size as above.

Table font size changes when I set other font property

I had anomalous behavior in a VI i wrote so I did the following to troubleshoot it. Can anybody explain what's going on?
I created a table indicator and changed the font size to 36 for a 5x5 area cells using mouse-drag-select and the front panel "Xpt Application Font" dropdown. I changed one of the rows to font=strikeout using the same front panel dropdown. I then used the FOR loops and properties as below to change the stikeout property to FALSE for all 5 rows. Running the VI caused the font size of all of the text to change, even though the CellFontSize property was not set anywhere in the VI. I manually set the font sizes to 36 again and subsequent runs of the the VI did not affect the font sizes.

I did not attach the code because after it runs it is "fixed". The FOR loop I described is easy enough to recreate but it seems there was an issue with the image in the first post so I've attached it here (rather than try again to include it in the message).

Email settings - do they change when you set up an Aiport?

I have just set up an Airport express for my home and now dant send or receive emails. Do the settings need changing?

Setting up a wireless router, in itself, should have no effect on your ability to access email. Is the 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) the only router in your current network configuration? That is, does it connect directly to an Internet modem by Ethernet? ... or does the Express connect to another router that is directly connected to the modem?

The volume slowly increases to the 100% even when I set the volume slider to 1%...

When I try to set the volume lower on my PC, it quickly increases to 100% volume, even when I set the volume slider to 1 or 2%. When I set it to 0%, however, it does mute the volume. It's rediculous! I just want quieter music, but I am constantly blasted by maxed out volume...

A stuck multimedia key on your keyboard to increase the volume perhaps? iTunes won't change the volume of its own accord. Perhaps there is an option in your control panel to disable the function.

No clue why the final processes have suddenly started to take so long. Two things I'd try: a) capture from an older tape to see if some problem with the new tape is at fault. And b) check the health of your RAM and the hard drive.
The red frame sounds a bit like a glitch we used to have in OnLocation (actually in its predecessor HDV Rack) which was caused by a partial GOP. But that was a product of HDV Rack recording from the live video stream. It turned out that HDV cameras intentionally interrupt the data stream for an instant upon starting to record--specifically to avoid recording a partial GOP to tape. So my gut says that the tape has partial GOPs at the points where you stopped/started recording.

I'm still learning the whole Mac thing but these are great machines! I purchased a MacBook Air 13" and then thought I should also get a MacBook Air 11" for travel. When I set it up at the Apple store I told the assistant the exact same name for each machine, i.e., "my name and MacBook Air." What I want to do is go back in and rename both of them adding the 11" and 13" designation to the name so that when I set up Time Machine or whatever else I know exactly which machine is what. Go to System Preferences - Sharing and change the computer name there. You can also, optionally, change the name of your hard drive to further clarify the origin of your backups. Click once on the "Macintosh HD" on your desktop, then click its name to allow you to edit it.

To change the iCloud account on your phone you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone. When you delete the account you will be given the option to either keep or delete the iCloud data from your phone. This also, only deletes the account and the iCloud data from your phone, not from iCloud. Your husband's phone won't be effected by this. Then, to create a separate account, sign back in with a different Apple ID (you can continue to share the same ID for iTunes).
If you have any photo stream photos that you want to keep on the phone, save them to your camera roll before deleting the account.
If you're sharing the same ID for iMessage and FaceTime you'll end up getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls. To prevent this, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your new iCloud ID. Then do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

If not you're into using file recovery software like File Salvage - you can download a free trial and it will scan the disk for you and tell you with might be recoverable. Actual recovery will require that you purchase the app. There may be many files with the same or similar names. Always recover the largest file size.
