Wife and I activated iphones with single Apple ID. Can I switch mine to a new ID?
It hasn't been too much of a problem although last night I told both phones to backup our separate contacts to the cloud and now both of our phones show all of our contacts combined. I know that makes sense since it merged the contacts but it doesn't really work for us. When I delete one of my contacts out of her phone, it also deletes it out of my phone.
Is it possible for me to sign my phone into a new apple ID and have separate phones from now on?

sure you change appleID on the iphone in settings under store
and then you just sync it with the computer connected to the appleID you wish to use
but it will mean you only have apps and media that appleID have access to

As long as you have iTunes logged in with your Apple ID, you can just plug your phone in and sync it, and all your music will appear as your Library (e.g. "Nolan's Music"). When your husband plugs his phone in, he'll probably have to log you out and login with his Apple ID, before he syncs his phone.
The problem is that Apple IDs are accounts. Your phone is linked to your account, and his phone is linked to his account. I don't think you can sync them both while logged in to one of those accounts. Have you sync'd your phones before? What happens when you plug them in? -

Yes. Buy it and sign on with your other Macs using the same AppleID. It will be available in the Purchases tab.
You can also make a copy of it after the first download and move it to your other machines to avoid another 4 gig download. Make sure to do this before installing as the installer will delete the download from the applications folder. -

When booting requice active iphone with my Apple ID and alert msg "EMAIL *** can not be used to unlock this iphone..."

My wife and I got iphones. Igot my apple ID set up fine. Having trouble setting up my wifesw. We only have 1 email account. The instructions say to use youe email account as your apple ID. I have done that. My wife tryede to enter the same apple ID. The instuctions say you can. It says press use the same. Then press continue. The only problem is that continue is not an option that is on that screen? Please help me with some good and easy fixes. THANKS
The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

no, when using facetime you log in with the apple id you want people to reach you at, so unless you both agree to share one apple id for all the facetime you do, it will be necessary for you to logout and login each time you use the application.

try a reset of iPhone and then a restore,best, as new and if it then functions correctly try restoring with your backup -

Yes if you backed up your iPhone with iTunes to your Mac. You can restore your phone to the last backup:
Or with a iPhone backup viewer/restorer application like iPhone Backup Viewer or Mac iPhone Data Recovery. But the phone has to have been backed up with iTunes to the Mac.
Other possible applications can be found at MacUpdate.com by searching for iPhone recovery or iPhone backup, etc.
Change your Apple ID password so you wife can't log into your iCloud again and do the same thing. -
My fiance logged into my iphone with his apple ID and now I can't switch it back to my username. When I go to buy an app his username is in an editable format to beable to change it back to mine. Had you looked in the User Guide, you would have found this: Settings>Store. Tap on AppleID to change.

I gave my ipad 2 to my brother last month. After that he erased all content and settings, sign in with his apple id. The next day until now, I found out that I can not udpate my apps both on my iPhone and iPad Air. I had create new apple id, change my password, delete the icloud acc. 1. It is never a good idea to include personal info like your email address or Apple ID in a post on an open forum.
2. The email you received DOES NOT say your Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this iPad. The email informs you that your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad. Fortunately the iPad is yours. The message confirms that. If your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad that was not yours your would then know to change your password. Since the iPad is yours you do not need to change your password.

My wife and I got Iphone 4S same day 2 years ago. I used the same Apple ID for both. We do not use iCloud, but today after I updated my phone to IOS7 I keep getting her texts on my phone ans vice versa. I turned off imessage in message settings. Seems to have stopped now? Never did this before IOS7. Will I have more troubble when her phone updates to IOS7? Is icloud going to be forced on me then?
This is being caused by using the same Apple ID for iMessage on both phones. To separate your messages, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and do one of the following:
Either uncheck the email address shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at" on both phones; or
If you want to continue to receive iMessages at this email address, on one of the two phones, tap the Apple ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in using a different Apple ID.
