Wifi and the missing status bar symbols

My status bar has changed (or, did I press something?) so that it now only shows iPad, time and battery strength. It works perfectly at home but I can no longer access wifi when away from home. How do I restore the status bar to its original format?

Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on.
Tap Settings / Wi-Fi.
If it's already on, try resetting.
Hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on.

Finder and the missing side bar

Hi- tonight I purchased a new external hard drive. I got home and backed my computer up. No big deal. I also purchased Snow Leopard since I only had Leopard. I think everything went fairly smoothly. However, when I open my Finder I do not have the side bar anymore. I went into preferences to the side bar settings, made sure everything was checked to be up an on the sidebar and still no luck. Any advice on how to get my sidebar for the finder back? Thanks!

Well, I figured it out myself. Sometimes just posting the question makes the answer come to you! For those who my have the same problem in the future- there is a small rectangular box in the upper right hand corner. click on it and the side bar will appear.

Hi, Just put phone in the recovery mode and restore to the factory settings. It should work.

If iTunes purchases, delete and redownload by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise delete and resync if they play OK in iTunes on the computer

Here are two "Menu" add-ons which alter the Menu bar into one button.
With this one you can move the new "Menu" button into the Customize Palette, and then when you hit the '''Alt''' key the "Menu will open down from the Titlebar on the left. Won't affect the action of the Firefox button when you de-select the Menu Bar.<br />

Installed: Firefox 27. ReminderFox 2.1.4. Windows XP Professional
Since ReminderFox 2.1.4 was installed, I have deselected the 'Status/Add-on Bar Display 'Bow' and text on status bar' numerous times, but the setting never takes effect even after pressing the Apply and OK buttons.
The Add-on Bar, which has always been deselected from the View > Toolbars menu, shows as selected in the menu, and even though I deselect it manually, when I close Firefox and then reopen it, it shows again as selected in the menu.

I can't see the show status bar option in iTunes 11

I can't find the 'show status bar' option in the View Option section, it simply isn't there. Also, every time I go to the store, iTunes crashes.

Are you working with Pretest Questions?
Is it happening with specific sldie, can you chekc the slide type and verify again.
Pretest do not allow skin-playbar to appear.

What does it mean when you get an Apple and a grey status bar during start up of a MacBook Pro?

When I start up my MacBook Pro I get an Apple icon and a grey status bar. Some days the start up goes really fast and other days it takes a few minutes for the computer to start up. My laptop never used to do this. It started a month ago. Is there something I should do to resolve this? Below are my computers spec's:
OS X Yosemite V 10.10.1
MacBook Pro (15-in, 2.53GHz, Mid 2009)
Processor: 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Start up Macintosh HD

The boot progress bar with progress bar with a dark background is a new feature for Yosemite and appears for seconds before the desktop loads. It is normal that "some days it goes really fast". Yosemite is heavier than Mavericks and as a result the boot time is slightly longer. On Mavericks it was a little wheel that spun, now it is a progress bar.

There is an addon that solves this problem. It restores the "original" status bar like on 3.6 and the pop-up is GONE!!
Go to get addons, in the searchbox type without quotes "status-4-evar".

App for audio recording on ipad that doesn't have the red status bar.

You need to have the capability to export the presentation in a format your teacher can use. Ask your teacher what format she wants the presentation in. If she wants PDF then you have to send her a PDF file. If she wants something else send her the presentation in that format.
Be warned that not all apps supporting opening presentations preserve or support all layut and formatting. The best approach to ensure your presentation looks as you intended when she opens it is to write it in the same app she will be viewing it.
It is not unreasonable for the teacher to specify a format/application. Otherwise a teacher with 100 students could find herself having to deal with multiple apps, formats, standards, layouts, being sent to her.

I want to get an ipad for myself and I have no idea what the difference is between the regular wifi and the 3G plus wifi. If somebody could explain the difference to me so I can decide which one to get I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance!

On the iPad if you use wifi you have to be close to a wifi access point either in your home or at a location such as Starbucks or Paanera. This connection normally will transfer data faster than 3G. However, 3G will give you access in areas where there is mobile telephone service from Verizon or AT&T albeit at a slower data transfer rate than wifi.
Wifi will be cheaper than 3G since you'll have to subscribe to 3G service from Verizon or AT&T.
BTW, you won't be able to use "3G plus wifi" at the same time.

Tried to quit on both the big window and the software update title in the menu bar. No luck.

Tried that by shutting down via the power button only as the normal shutdown was nixed by the open window issue. It did not help. Found a very similar question in the discussions and it recommended "Force Quit". That worked and the update works normal and the window is gone. Thanks!
