WiFi AutoLogin and HTTP Authentication

Since iPhoneOs 3.0 i can't login to WiFi Networks which do logins via HTTP-Authentication to let my iPhone 3G into the network.
Even i can't switch off the Auto-Login function. And if i cancel the AutoLogin procedure my WiFi connection gets lost.
Hope someone could help me!:)

  • Lync mobility and HTTP authentication test failed. Is reverse proxy required?

I currently have the following setup.
    1 x 2013 edge server lync1.local.com
has 3 dmz ips for external names
    has 1 internal ip
    2 x 2013 std front end servers lync2 & lync3.local.com
Ive read that in 2013 the mobility service is installed automatically on the front end servers and i do see it running on both.
All my clients can connect from the windows and mac clients(internally and externally) but not from phone or windows app store client (internally or externally)
running the exchangeconnectivity test on the website i get the following error
Testing HTTP authentication methods for URL https://lyncdiscover.external.com/Autodiscover/AutodiscoverService.svc/root/user.
      HTTP authentication test failed.
    Additional Details
A Web exception occurred because an HTTP 404 - NotFound response was received from Unknown.

    Connection: close
    Content-Length: 64

    Elapsed Time: 427 ms.
After some reading I notice that many people refer to a reverse proxy when dealing with mobility.
I do not have a reverse proxy server installed. Is this required for the mobility to work correctly? I cant just use the edge server?

  • ISQL*Plus :- SYSDBA requires WebDBA role and HTTP Authentication? How to?

    Hi...
When i try to logon using to iSQL* Plus (Oracle 10g version) with SYSDBA privileges in browser it repeatedly asks for username and password?
What username and password should i give here? or is there any default username and password exists? or how could i create one?
    Thanks ,

    Read Frank's article http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2012/12-jan/o12adf-1364748.html
Then you have to check if the user use use to login are defined in the stand alone server. If you server is running in production mode there is no automatic user or role migration. You have to to this by yourself.
Once you have check that the users are present, you have to check if the enterprise roles are mapped to the corresponding application roles.

  • System authentication wifi - gid and uid settings

I have a long standing problem with System Authentication on WEP Enterprise wifi.
Authentication worked yesterday but not today (see screenshots). I see in Directory Utility that I can make uid and gid static but not sure what that means. Is there any one who understands how System Authentication in 802.1x works along with OS X's integration of active directory?

You can setup "locations" in network preferences. I have a Macbook and I have setup a "home wifi" setting and a "cafe" setting.
My "home" setting allows me to use a user set IP address with pre-set dns servers and my "cafe" setting allows dhcp IP settings given by the router.
    Good Luck

  • Http method not recognized and ntlm authentication

Does anybody know why ips signatures fire on ntlm authentication proxy? In our environment we have ISA 2004 and the ips is complaining about http not in rfc specs and http not recognized. Is it possible that ips does not understand ntlm proxy authentication?

These signatures are policy enforcement signatures. They are firing because the AIC engine has determined that the NTLM proxy application is running a non-web http based protocol on a web port. That will trigger 12674. 12676 is triggered when there is an HTTP request method being seen that is not in the list of acceptable HTTP request methods (listed in 12676 config). Currently, the method list should be considered static, even though it appears that you can add to this list, there are known issues that make updating it unreliable.
I'd look at the alarms to see if either the attacker or victim address is constant. I'm not sure how it will fire, but if one side is consistently the ISA system, then you can probably implement an alarm channel filter to keep those two signatures from firing with the ISA as the attacker/victim. Personally, I'd consider disabling the signatures since they are not compatible with your network policy.
WRT to tuning 12676, the entire AIC engine is being actively worked on to improve its robustness and functionality, though no specific release vehicle has been determined--yet.

  • Unable to connect wifi via netctl - Unregistered Authentication Agent

I have a previous post int the Newbie Corner that went unanswered, so I figured I'd try again here now that I have some new information. The post is here...
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=197031
And here's a copy of that post so you don't have to open it in a new tab.
    ORIGINAL POST:
I have continually been having issues with netctl failing to start an automatic profile for awhile now, but I have been able to manually bring up my connection once my system is up and running. Today I am running into the issue where netctl will outright fail to connect during a manual attempt. When viewing journalctl -xe the error I receive is:
WPA association/authentication failed for interface 'wlan0'
Failed to bring the network up for profile
I noticed that there is a 'fix' for this issue on the Arch Wiki which simply states to bring wlan0 down with ip link, then to start the profile with netctl again. I went ahead and gave that fix a try and got a new error.
    Unregistered Authentication Agent for unix-process:1324:44567
The error goes on to provide a path to .../PolicyKit1/AuthenticationAgent,.
I have tried using NetworkManager as well, but I'd prefer not to use it as I seem to have more problems with it over netctl, and that is why I currently have it disabled. Any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated. Also, I was connected to my home wifi last night without a problem, and I have tested the wifi connection with my phone, which authenticates and connects without a problem.
    EDIT:
I did a bit more digging and found some startup errors issues via dmesg with wlan0.
    IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready
    wlan0: authenticate with 00:24:b2:71:b8:27
    wlan0: direct probe to 00:24:b2:71:b8:27 (try 1/3)
    wlan0: direct probe to 00:24:b2:71:b8:27 (try 2/3)
    wlan0: direct probe to 00:24:b2:71:b8:27 (try 3/3)
wlan0: authentication with 00:24:b2:71:b8:27 timed out
The last 5 lines of this error repeats about 7 times before stopping. I use a broadcom card and my 43xx driver loads without a problem, I've been using it for awhile now on various distros.
b43-phy0: Broadcom 4311 WLAN found (core revision 10)
    EDIT:
Well after doing some research, I found this existing bug.
    https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/44821
Involving wifi not working under kernel 4.0.1. I noticed a Broadcom card listed by one of the users who was having the same problem, so at this point I'm probably going to wait until I get home to test my laptop on my home wifi again, then if I run into problems I'll downgrade my kernel and see how things go.
    NEW POST:
So after all of that I tried my laptop at home again, and netctl-auto connected flawlessly to my wifi at home, which has led me to believe that the problem has to do with the message...
polkitd[1087]: Unregistered Authentication Agent for unix-process:2582:96758
I had previously noted that I would downgrade my kernel, but at this point I'd hate to do that considering netctl-auto is working.
I have also tried connecting via wifi-menu, and when I try that I get the message
Interface 'wlan0' is controlled by netctl-auto
After which authentication fails. I have stopped netctl-auto via systemctl using systemctl stop [email protected] and tried again. I end up receiving the message error message from systemctl that the job failed, and viewing journalctl -xe shows the recurring Unregistered Authentication Agent from polkitd.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    EDIT:
The issue continues. I have enabled the netctl profile I am currently working in netctl-auto with netctl enable profile, and that has not allowed the profile to automatically start up as it would with my home wireless connection. Something I have been noticing is that upon boot, without attempting to connect with netctl, is that wlan0 is not up.
    IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready
I have manually brought it up and immediately receive a failed message from systemd regarding my profile in netctl. If I do not manually bring it up with ip link set dev wlan0 up, then when I try to connect with netctl start profile, netctl will not bring wlan0 up and it will leave it in it's previous state.
The odd thing is, even with wlan0 in a down state, systemd is giving me the error message...
WPA association/authentication failed for interface 'wlan0'
Which is odd because netctl shouldn't be able to pass authentication is wlan0 is still down.
I've been at this for 2 days now and am no closer to fixing this than I was yesterday. I could really use some assistance. At this point I believe I may just downgrade my kernel and hope this fixes the issue, if not then I'm silently hoping my laptop won't connect to my home wifi when I get home so I can diagnose this problem via ethernet.
    EDIT:
Well here's something new. When viewing why netctl-auto fails on startup via systemctl status [email protected] I am getting the reason of
Could not create the configuration file for interface wlan0
At least now I have a bit more to work with.

Use this article: iOS: Wi-Fi settings grayed out or dim - Support - Apple
Follow all of the troubleshooting steps.  You can even try restoring the device as new: iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
If the wi-fi remains greyed out, your device needs service.
If within warranty, it should be free.
If not, it will probably cost $199 USD + tax.

  • Video behind http authentication does not play in Safari on iOS8.

Videos (quicktime and probably others) that are sitting behind http authenticated sites do not play properly in IOS8. This is true even with the new 8.0.2. When clicking on the mov file, Safari starts the integrated player (the player with the play button), but nothing plays and you can't press the play button.
Since I have access to the Apache web server that serves up the video, I can see what's happening on the backend. I see that Safari or the iOS video player Safari starts up fails to pass the authentication credentials to the server. I see a bunch of http 401 error messages (failed authentication) in the logs. When moving the same video to a not authenticated site, iOS8 does the right thing.
iOS7 (and before) and Safari on OSX does the right thing on authenticated sites. It authenticates properly with the server and plays the video.
Chrome on iOS8 also doesn't work either. Safari and Chrome use different versions of webkit, so I'm assuming its the video player that the browsers call on that's not passing the authentication off to the web server when making the http request.
Anyone else run into this problem or have a workaround? I reported this as a bug, but Apple hasn't acknowledged it yet.

I also have the same Exact Problem, only your explanition appears more technical and understandable. This problem appears more severe on YouTube.com videos and alike, however it is also severly choppy and problematic on other sites. Surprisingly Live Broadcast videos work better than not Live videos, however this is not something I'd like when my data isn't throttled yet. I crosstested it to see if there is any issues on my iPhone 4S (iOS 6, last version) and Galaxy S4 (Android Kit Kat, last version on S4) and there is no issues on those devices so it is an iOS 8(+0.1/0.2) and iOS 8.1 problem and I am 100% confident about it.
I do think it is the video player's problem with Websites and Webstreaming. There is no problems playing music videos on my device's storage. I didn't get that many error messages but it just doesn't play properly on Safari and Chrome, like what you are experiencing too. I may go ahead and report it too because it is gotten to a point where it is annoying to watch videos. It is not just an over 4G (+ or - LTE) only issue, it is also via Wifi even so it is a tad better. I can't tolerate playing a video 15 seconds in, have to wait 15 more seconds for it to play, it plays to 0:35 then I have to wait 15 more seconds. Even a 240p video, it does it so, it is clearly not a tolerable bug. I don't have a work around so far (tried everything from reset to wipe the phone and reinstall all the apps).
My Device is an iPhone 6+ with iOS 8.1 (yes, it is not just exclusive to the iPhone 5S. I assume it also effects the iPhone 6 based on technical specifications).

  • Transparent wsa and https traffic

    folks
i've deploying a S300V in transparent mode and using wccp
i have a single policy allowing http and https
http works fine but https doesn't
i can see both sets of requests go out through my outer firewalls but the https handshake doesn't get past the client hello
the VM is being used on a guest wifi network so clients won't be authenticated, won't have a common root certificate and i don't want to decrypt traffic
tac are telling me i need to enable the https proxy but i can't as clients won't have the root certificate required
do i need to use https proxy?
thanks to anyone taking the time to reply

    Ken,
If I dont to decrypt HTTPS but still want the traffic to be inspected for URL and web reputation, do I need to upload a root certificate still? I would have assume not as I do not want to decrypt HTTPS but the GUI doesn't allow me to enal HTTPS Proxy without uploading a certificate; basically I cannot "Enable HTTPS Proxy" and submit without a cert.
Basically what I just want to do is just pass through the HTTPS traffic to be check against the Access policies that the HTTP is being checked against.
Is this viable? If so can you let me know how I can achieve the above?
    Thanks

  • Web Clipping portlet and https

We have an external ASP application that requires HTTPS authentication. We want to pull the application into portal via a Web Clipping portlet.
However when we try start up web clipping studio with the https url we get the following error:
'WCS-517 -- SSL handshake failed for HTTPS connection to URL https://icwwwd.cc.ic.ac.uk/spectrum/ict/services/software/shop/downloads/SoftwareShop.asp by method get'
    My questions are:
    1. Is it possible to use the web clipping portlet to access a secure page?
    2. If so does anyone know why we are getting this error?
    3. Assuming we can, how do we get portal to automatically log on to the application via https so users do not have to login twice i.e. once into portal and once into the asp application?
    Thanks
    Andrew

Here is a more complete answer, cut and paste from the Oracle9iAS Portal Web Clipping Portlet User’s and Administrator’s Guide at
    http://portalcenter.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/DOCTEAM/WEBCLIPPING/WEBCLIPV9025.PDF
    5.3 Configuring Security
When a user navigates to a secure site, the Web site typically returns a
certificate identifying itself to the user when giving secure information. If
the user accepts the certificate, the certificate is placed into the list of trusted
certificates of the browser so that a secure channel can be opened between
the browser and that server. Like aWeb browser, theWeb Clipping Provider
behaves as an HTTP client to external Web sites. In order for the Web
Clipping Provider to keep track of trusted sites, it makes use of a file that
stores the certificates of those sites, namely the ca-bundle.crt file.
The shipped ca-bundle.txt is an exported version of the trusted server
certificate file from OracleWallet Manager (OWM). The default trusted
server certificate in OWM does not cover all possible server certificates that
exist on theWeb. For this reason, when a user navigates to a secure server
using HTTPS, the user may get an "SSL Hand-shake failed" exception in the
Web Clipping Studio. To solve this problem, the ca-bundle.crt file
needs to be augmented with new trusted sites that are visited. As a Portal
Administrator, you must do the following to extend the shipped
    ca-bundle.crt file:
    1. Use a browser (preferably Internet Explorer) to download the root
server certificate from each external HTTPSWeb site in BASE64 format
that is visited, and is missing from the trusted certificate file.
    2. Use Oracle Wallet Manager (OWM) to import each certificate.
    3. Export the trusted server certificates into a file and replace the
    ca-bundle.crt file with that file.
For more information about Oracle Wallet Manager, see Chapter 17 "Using
Oracle Wallet Manager" in Oracle Advanced Security Administrator’s Guide in
the Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2) documentation section on the Oracle
    Technology Network (OTN) (http://otn.oracle.com).
    =============
So, if you have another certificate authority that you need to add, i.e., DOD certs, etc., you must follow the instructions above.

  • Wifi speed and the new Apple TV concerns

One of the great things about my classic ATV is that I can start downloading a movie before dinner, and know that my viewing experience later won't be subject to variances in the wifi speed. In my experience, wifi speed and reliability can vary widely - and my worst nightmare is a video that stutters or freezes.
I new the new box has the faster modern chip, but I'm concerned Apple has no control over what might be the weak link: the wifi connection.
Is it time to make a run on a couple of classic boxes? Are they still in stock anywhere?

The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
    and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
    and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

  • Basic http authentication not working when consuming Web Service in BPEL.

    Hi,
I am consuming an AXIS Web Service from BPEL 10.1.3. The Web Service uses basic http
authentication so we need a way to get username and password into the http
header. In the Oracle BPEL Process Manager Administrator's Guide 10g
(10.1.3.1.0) section 1.3.4.1 HTTP Basic Authentication (10.1.2.0.2) is stated
that this can be done using the properties httpUsername and httpPassword. I
have set the 2 for the partner link in bpel.xml but username and password does
not get in to the http header. Has anybody got an idea?
    Regards Pete

I'm having the same sorts of problems with 10.1.3.1.0. I've got a deployed BPEL suitcase that's trying to hit a BASIC AUTH-secured web service running on a WebLogic 8.1 server. I've set up my partner link according to the documentation, and the BPEL console Descriptor tab even shows the parameters correctly:
    partnerLinkBindings
    client
         wsdlLocation      awardService.wsdl
    spsAwardSubmitPartnerLink
         basicHeaders      credentials
         basicUsername      ko1
         basicPassword      xxxxx
         wsdlLocation      IAwardDraftServiceRef1.wsdl
However, when I funnel the resultant call to the endpoint specified in IAwardDraftServiceRef1.wsdl, none of the fields I would expect show up in the HTTP header:
    POST /pd2WebServices/service/IAwardDraftService HTTP/1.1
    Host: vm-orcl-app-srv:4444
    Connection: Keep-Alive, TE
    TE: trailers, deflate, gzip, compress
    User-Agent: Oracle HTTPClient Version 10h
    SOAPAction: ""
    Accept-Encoding: gzip, x-gzip, compress, x-compress
    Content-type: text/xml; charset=UTF-8
    Content-length: 3800
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"><env:Body><IAwardDraftSubmitNew xmlns="http://www.caci.com/pd2/pub">
    <IAwardDraft>
    <accessController/>
    <agreementEndDate/>
Is there some other configuration piece I'm missing?? I've tried the other variation using httpBasicHeaders, with the same results. I even noted that the "Oracle® BPEL Process Manager Administrator's Guide" says that "Starting with Oracle BPEL Process Manager release 10.1.3, all partner link properties are automatically propagated into the HTTP header." I've tried putting "extra" parms in the partner link bindings, but they don't show up either.
    What am I missing??
    Thanks,
    Mike
