WiFi Calling - Only available on iPhones purchased directly form EE

I have been in touch with EE Tech Support as they cannot seem to get WiFi Calling enabled on my iPhone. After more than 5 calls to various levels of Tech Support, today I am told that WiFi Calling on an iPhone 6 is only available if the phone was bought from EE stores or website. I don't believe the support guy and feel like I am being fobbed-off. Anyway, I am writing on this forum to see if anyone else has had this response? I cannot believe that Apple would use this feature in their product launch keynote and then agree with EE that it should only be available to phones bought direct. Doesn't make sense. I'd love to know what you think.

I am tiring of Apple. Could someone explain to me why Siri is now only available on iPhone 4S other than trying to make us buy a newer model?

Siri uses the Cloud to be used. so it doesn't store all of its answers or comments on your device which would be a considerable load.
The idea that Apple would unlock this cloud based service ontop of icloud to the masses is something that doesn't make sense. I've already read that the siri servers were having issues connecting *but that was a puff piece underlining the overall strain to the servers siri is already producing* This is not to say that this is a common thing by any means and I've only heard from people I know, positive things about it and it's capabiliities.
So my thought is, they will reward those who have gotten the faster processor which will send and recieve the information a little better, which will still be a huge amount of people but it won't be everyone. This is why I think Siri is being limited.
I hope that apple releases Siri to everyone as their cloud based computing grows. I even hope the macs get siri as it would create accessibility for everyone. But for now you will have to wait and see. or get the new iphone.

Making Wifi Network Only Available on Certain Computers

My roommate and I have a password-protected wireless network. However, we are pretty sure someone else is able to use our wifi because we can manually check our bandwidth online; when we are out of town, bandwidth is still being used, and I have had more than one person connected to my iTunes before.
My roommate said she's connected to password-protected wireless networks (for which she didn't know the password) before and had no idea how it even worked. But that must be what's happening!
I've heard of wifi networks that only allow certain computers to connect to them. How can I get ours to do that, too?

My router lets me turn on a log file in it that records all traffic through it. Check your routers instructions to do this.

this didn't actually answer my question. The feature request link you sent me to didn't have the mobile apps for creative cloud listed Adobe Idea, Adobe Sketch and Ink and Slide they aren't available for android tablets and Android Phones. These aren't even available for Windows tablets. But they aren't available in the feature request section either.

No, you will have to double press each time on the lock screen to bring back the camera button.

WiFi Calling and Visual Voicemail (VVM) Windows Phone (or Windows 10 Mobile)

We are planning to change our business network for company mobiles from Vodafone, we all have SIM-Free/Unlocked Windows Phone devices (Lumia 930, Lumia 735 and etc...) all with latest updates which is currently Windows Phone Update 1 except for 735 which is on Update 2 now I believe. Only EE offers true seamless WiFi calling and is advertised for Lumia 640 which is because of the Windows Phone Update 2 we believe. Based on this information I have 3 questions:What are the requirements for WiFi Calling on Windows Phone (Windows 10 Mobile) devices?We are also interested in Visual Voicemail (VVM) which latest Windows Phone supports however EE only appears to mention iPhones and no other device, number of questions have been answered with no current support however surly if they can do iPhone they can also do Windows Phone therefore wanting to know if anyone has any further information on this?Will any of the above require EE's own firmware or will the SIM-Free/Unlocked version work with it? (Reason for asking is that O2's Visual Voicemail only works with their own version of the firmware)As much input on this matter would be much appreciated because as we're going to stay with Windows devices long term now and switch all other iPhones to them also, feel free to include more technical info if necessary

At the moment Wi-Fi Calling is only available on the Lumia 640 out of the Windows devices. WiFi Calling will not be available on any other existing devices, but as we launch new devices we will confirm if they support this service.
Wi-Fi Calling is also only available on devices purchased direct from EE with the exception of the iPhone. An iPhone would just need to have Carrier 19.1 or above.
As for Visual Voicemail it is only available on iPhones. I'm doing some digging to find out if it is something that will be launched on other devices in the near future. I will let you know as soon as I get any information.
Also you mentioned you would be a business customer. Wi-Fi Calling is only currently available to Personal and Small Business customers.

Why didn't apple make iphone with wifi calling?

It is beyond me that Blackberry and the Android phones have wifi calling and the new iphone 5 does not. Why? That should be standard in all phones.

Just left a message there. Thanks. I live and travel and work in poor coverage areas and have a mifi to cover me doing charge sales. Sad that Apple won't let me talk in these areas too.

Wifi calling

I am at a crossroad, iPhone 5 with Verizon or ATT. There seems to be two different stories. One Verizon cannot surf and talk without an app like Line2. The other is ATT blocks apps that allow wifi calling. I camp in the national forest where I can get a WiFi signal but no cell signal. WiFi calling is the only method available to communicate. Does ATT actually block wifi calling? Can Verizon users surf and talk? What WiFi calling apps work with iPhone 5 (Viber, Talkatone...)?

You can use FaceTime over WiFi, Skype & any other similar app you want with either Verizon or AT&T.
The surf/talk deal is a limit of CDMA. When Verizon fully updates their system, that will change using LTE. But, for now, it is what it is.

There are just some things that older model iPhones can't do that newer models can. Apple makes the decisions to improvce upon their devices so that customers can choose which device they want according to their needs. If you want a phone that does something your current one doesn't, look into the Apple Recycling Program to trade in your iPhone for a gift card that you can use to purchase a newer model phone

I had this problem too - of grayed out music I could only play when in WIFI. I noticed when looking in iTunes, these grayed song were not chosen by me to sync on to my iPhone. They were stored in iCloud. I went to Settings > Music and then turned off "Show All Music" so only music that has been dowloaded to my iPhone will be shown.
I don't have iTunes Match, so you may have a different issue than what I had.

Yes, I've updated to IOS8, but do not have the Wi-Fi calling menu that many with my iPhone 5 brethren are seeing. This may be the reason some are not seeing Wi-fi as well. I'd love to hear from anyone with some inside insights on this. Thanks.
You might want to give T-Mobile a call and see if they can send you over a 'carrier update'. If I'm not mistaken, the 4S and above should be able to work with Wi-Fi Calling.

After charging overnight iPhone 4S (5.1), no cell nor wifi and only 97% battery

Setup:
- iPhone 4S
- Unlocked
- Rogers (Canada)
- upgraded to 5.1 when it became available
- good reception area, never had a dropped call
Observation:
- never had this happen before the update
- now I have seen this twice already with exact same observation
- before charging phone was fully functional and had 10%+ battery life left
- charge overnight (min 6hrs) then
- no cell connectivity
- no wifi connectivity
- just shows searching
- battery indicator shows 97%
- siwtching on and off airplane mode does not recover any cell nor wifi connectivuty
- only after turning off phone completely and turnign it back on I regain connectivity and battery indicator shows 100%
- I will try in the next few nights to recreate this problem but close all applications in the background though I cannot imagine that having to do with anything

Stay on the 5.1.1 for now.

This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music. See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled. This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

just call them...i bought my PB when it came out...but I had an issue recently and called them up and they helped me out....
