Wifi can not work after sleep

After update to Mountain Lion, the wifi brings me many troubles. First, it will automatically disconnect the link, therefore the movie I'm downloading will be stop. Second, sometimes I find it will be system halted after wake up. I can't power off it nomally, even there is no reaction when I click the process bar.
Is it a bug?

Try this:
a) Press Windows key + X, select Device manager.
b) Right click on Network Adapters.
c) Click on Properties, and select Power management tab.
d) Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
Finally reboot the system

    Ok so here is the problem I own an acer v3 771g and after i close the laptop(sleep mode) sometimes the internet just doesnt works the system just hangs and till i restart the computer i pretty cant do anything fe. I'm unable to restart my network card.

    One of these may help:
    1. Go to the Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings (in the left pane), right-click on the connection you‘re using, click Properties > Networking Tab. Now remove the tick from the IPv6 box. If it makes no difference or causes other problems
    it is completely reversible by ticking the box.
    2. Right-click Computer, click Properties > Device Manager (in the left pane). Expand Network Adapters > double-click the wireless adapter > Power Management Tab and make sure the check box is cleared against ‘Allow the computer to turn off this
    device……’.

  • Wifi doesn't work after sleep

    I'm having an issue where my wifi will stop working after sleep.  This isn't the same problem where the network had to be manually reconnected--
    The "radar" will be grayed out, and I can see the networks if I click on it, but I cannot reconnect, disable wifi (make the radar the pie shape).  The only thing I can do is do a hard reset holding the power button until the computer shuts off.
    In fact, if I select 'Apple -> Restart,' nothing happens.  I have to hold the power button down.
    Any thoughts?

  • M3800 Developer Edition: wifi doesn't work after sleep

    I have an M3800 Developer Edition (2015 model). Ubuntu is factory-installed 14.04, with hardware enablement stack installed. Recently (past 1-2 weeks) wifi doesn't work after sleep (lid closed or open doesn't matter), and only rebooting gets in back. Tried rmmod and modprobe with no success. Has anyone else seen this, and/or are you aware of any open bug(s) for this?

    Hi
    Thanks for the tip. However, I elected not to save the XP SP2 uninstall files when I installed SP2. so I appear to be stuffed.
    There must be some creative drivers that work with an audigy with XP SP2 installed!
    If not then its either re-format the Hard Dri've and re-install everything again (Doh!!) or get another (not Creative Labs) soundcard.
    this is really bugging me.

  • HP SimplePass Reader Does not Work after Sleep

    I have only had my laptop for a week - the fingerprint reader stopped working 2 days after I bought it. I have tried everything: removing and re-installing various drivers and software, stopping and starting Credentials Manager, unchecking the box that allows the computer to turn the reader off to save power, etc.
    I have gotten it to the point where it functions when the computer is logged in, but not after sleep. It works once if you restart the computer, but after waking it from sleep it does not initialize. (no light or anything) However, if you "lock" the desktop from the start menu, the reader will log it in again. (without closing the lid or putting it to sleep)
    Simple Pass version 6.0 (latest downloaded from HP.com)

    Hello hawvi,
    I see that you are having problems with the fingerprint reader not working after returning from sleep mode. I would like to help with this issue but I need some information.
    Can you provide the full model and product number of the computer? Here is a link that shows how to find that information.
    What operating system are you using?
    How long have you had the problem?

    I close my Macbook Air and put it to sleep.  Then when I open it to wake it up, the wifi will not connect.  The 'Fan" wifi icon shows it is searching for a connection but after a moment it stops.
    This happens at work, home and school.
    I have to turn the wifi off and then turn it back on to get it to work.

    Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • F3507g GPS not working after sleep/resume Windows 7

    Under Windows 7 on ThinkPads with the F3507g Mobile Broadband Connection, there have been two long-standing problems:
    (a) after sleep/resume, the F3507g (Wireless WAN) disappears from the Fn+F5 menu;
    (b) after sleep/resume, ThinkVantage GPS does not work (forever displays Fix Type: N/A).
    By searching these forums, you can find past threads about these problems, none with a reproducible resolution.
    I am pleased to say that the latest driver update for the F3507g (v6.1.10.5  7UW708WW) appears to ameliorate problem (a) in that the F3507g Wireless WAN eventually re-appears in the Fn+F5 menu if you give it a few tens of seconds after a resume.  This update is available from:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-73681
    However, the non-working GPS after sleep/resume is still not solved.  Even though the "Wireless WAN" card is present and shown powered-on in the Fn+F5 menu, ThinkVantage GPS (2.60) is stuck on Fix Type: N/A, and the Windows 7 Weather gadget does not automatically discover the location.  Both applications work fine after a full Windows restart, but not after a sleep/resume.
    I have, however, discovered a work-around which restores GPS operation without a full restart:
    Open Device Manager;
    Expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers";
    Right-click "F3507g Mobile Broadband Device" and select "Disable";
    Wait for the system to settle down again;
    Right-click "F3507g Mobile Broadband Device" and select "Enable";
    Wait for the system to settle down again.
    Now you can press Start in ThinkVantage GPS, and Fix Type will quickly change from "N/A" to "No Fix", and then onward to satellite discovery.  And after a few false starts, the Windows 7 Weather gadget will discover the location.
    The fact that this work-around restores GPS operation indicates that the underlying fault is a driver software issue.
    The above symtoms and work-around have been verified on both a ThinkPad X301 and a ThinkPad T400s.  Neither have ThinkVantage Access Connections installed.  The X301, when previously running under Vista with the previous generation of drivers, did not display these symptoms: the symptoms appeared with the upgrade to Windows 7.

    Actually mine works fine after applying all the updates available on T400 w/ Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I can sleep/shutdown as much as I want and the GPS works.
    By the way, you have to goto your bios to reset your settings to default by pressing F9. Maybe you should try this and see if that solves your problem.
    The only GPS related issue that is not fixed is the issue of dual booting into linux. I dual boot into linux, and when that happens the GPS problem re-occurs once I log back into windows. The only way for me to fix the problem again at that point, is if I go back into the bios and hit F9 again, then re-enter windows.
    If I were to stay in a windows environment indefiniately, there is no problem. The problem is once I enter Linux, the problem in windows will occur again (maybe the powerstate settings by the linux kernal messes up the settings on the card).

  • Bluetooth keyboard not working after sleep *windows8* FIX

    Its pretty simple actually.  It might not work for you, but let me know if it does.  Untill bootcamp drivers are updated, I found that disabling the Bluetooth Network adater under Networking And Sharing in the control panel will allow my Keyboard to function again after waking up.  If you find that your keyboard is still paired, but not responding when your Windows 8 install wakes up after sleep, this might fix the problem for now.
    If you have a notebook, I read on another forum that if you enable Bluetooth Collaboration under the device settings in Device Manager, you can fix this issue also.  Google for it if your interested.

    I've noticed on mine that if it is coming out of Ssafe Sleep (you can see the progress bar at the bottom of the screen if it is) then the keyboard does take a bit to active.
    This may not be your problem however just be sure you've been patient enough after waking.

  • Safari will not work after sleep mode

    After going into sleep mode safari will not work. Firefox works fine, mail is fine. Happened after upgrade  to O S x .  Browser is Safari 8.  How do I fix this?

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Touchsmart 520-1047c Mouse and Keyboard will not work after sleep mode

    I have an issue which I need some help with. When my computer goes to sleep the wireless mouse and keyboard will not work unless I restart, however each one will wake the system up but will not operate after that. I have tried just making the display go to sleep, both go to sleep but that makes no difference same issue occurs. The only work around I have found is going into the power settings and turning the sleep mode off for booth the computer and display. This does not solve the problem it just masks it. New batteries, unplugged and replugged the dongle, updated the bios and all drivers. Don't know what else to try. Anybody know how to fix this? Thank you in advance for your help.
