Wifi connecting loops repeatedly back to start (unlock) page

I've had the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 for a month and recently when I try to connect to a wifi network, it repeatedly cycles back to the start (unlock) page. Samsung tech and Verizon have not provided an answer so far. I have tried "forgetting" all old networks, rebooting router, re-entering network and security code, updating software and multiple combinations of this.  Others have had this problem (posted on youtube) but have not posted a solution. I would hope that restoring factory settings is not the only answer as would lose apps, data, pictures, and kindle books.  Have others with this problem found a solution?  I cannot use wifi as it is.

I have had the same problem with my GT7 - no answers from Verizon, but have learned through many blogs that there is an issue with their not being able to connect to Belkin wireless routers (my kind).  There are things to try like changing the channel, or connecting without a password, but those have not worked for me, either.  If you have Windows 7, an option is to tether onto your WiFi via Win7's home network setup (you'll have to look it up if you don't know how). That worked great for me. But, with the last Android update, that isn't working either, now : ( , but I haven't had time to troubleshoot to see if I can get it working again.

why does  my  touch  show  wifi connection in settings  but not  when  i  switch  to  main  page ?

In Setting>wifi, is the a check mark by the network you think you are connected to?
What do you mean by the main page? The upper left of the iPod's screen?

  • IOS4 wifi connection problems after a re-start

My wifi works fine until I turn my phone off then on. Then it does not automatically reconnect to the airport wifi network.
This has only happened since ios4 and I can duplicate it on numerous iPhones.
The problem is with WPA2 and not WEP

    same issue here..
reset my network settings and reset phone a billion times already, same issue still occur. sometimes the phone will wake up with wifi and sometimes it will go to 3g, one time it went to GPRS, its just really bizarre. If i open safari it will ask if i want to join the network that i originally set up, but when i select the network it just says "unable to connect". If i just leave the phone be for a couple hours and wake it up again, it will rejoin the wifi network.
I use remote to control my music library, but if my phone goes to sleep, it won't reconnect again so it's basically useless.
    BIZARRRRRE, driving me crazy..

  • Unreliable WiFi connections when on battery power

I've had my MBP for 2 weeks. It worked flawlesly for the first 10 days. Since then, when running on battery power, my WiFi connection drops repeatedly, and at random intervals. Signal strength is good always (on a/c pwr or batt) and I am always able to reconnect via the menu bar by re-selecting my network.
I believe that this started happening after the latest updates were downloaded and installed.
Again, this only happens when running on battery power...
    Any ideas?

This is an issue that has appeared in many threads. It looks like OS X Tiger has a driver issue with certain wireless APs - something related to power management.
In my case, I had no trouble with my Netgear AP but when I recently switched to a Linksys running DD-WRT open source software, I would drop my connection on battery every 2 minutes or so.
Same computer using Windows has no drops. I have not seen any press that Apple has admitted to the issue.
Until then, use the workaround that has been suggested. Run the Cococonut Wifi. This is a menu-bar utility that shows a count of open APs in the area. However, the side-effect is to keep the wireless driver open and stop the disconnects. It worked for me. The URL is: http://coconut-flavour.com/coconutwifi/index.html
    Enjoy...

  • My IPhone 3gs keeps giving two mysterious notification alarms, and then disconnects from the Wifi connection. To restore I have to turn wifi off and on. Why?

My iPhone 3GS has begun receiving mysterious alarms, similar to push notification alarms -but I've turned all the notifications off. When these two alarms go off my phone cuts its connection to the wifi. In order to reconnect I have to turn the wifi connection off then back on again. It's irritating! Any ideas why and what I can do to correct it.

  • I created an iCloud account and also had to get more space after I have done the purchase, I am unable to backup my phone! I have a stable wifi connection at home and all I see for hours and hours is "Backing Up .. Estimating time remaining"!!!!! Plz help

I created an iCloud account and also had to get more space so after I have made the purchase, I am unable to backup my phone! I have a stable wifi connection at home and all I see for hours and hours is "Backing Up .. Estimating time remaining"!!!!! Plz help I'm unable to make the backup as I need to transfer all my data on my new iPhone 5S

This may be caused by a corrupt existing backup that needs to be deleted, or by data on your device that is causing the backup to fail.  To troubleshoot these, try deleting your last iCloud backup (if you have one) by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, tap your device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup.  Then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on and try backing up again.
If it still won't back up, you may have an app or something in your camera roll that is causing the backup to fail.  To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again.  If the backup is successful, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is causing the backup to fail and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails.  Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.
In the meantime you can back up your phone to your computer by connect it, opening iTunes and going to File>Devices>Back Up.  Also be sure to transfer your purchases (File>Devices>Transfer Purchases).  Then set up your new phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iTunes Backup and follow the prompts to restore this backup to your new phone.  This will be much faster than using iCloud anyway.

  • I cant download apps throgh wifi on my iphone however when i connect to cellular data it starts downloading. then what is wrong over wifi , i tried reset network setting but i didnt help

i cant download apps throgh wifi on my iphone however when i connect to cellular data it starts downloading. then what is wrong over wifi , i tried reset network setting but i didnt help

Definitely sounds like an issue with your Wi-Fi network. Do any other devices on the network have similar issues? Is it an issue only with downloading apps? You can check by trying to load a website in Safari.
I would try turning your Wi-Fi router off for 1 minute, and back on again.
After doing that, disconnect and re-join the Wi-Fi network on your iPhone and try downloading an app again.

  • How do i get my Wifi connection speed back up after ios 5.0.1 on 3gs?

It actually began after the ios 5.0 update but this one hhas not fixed it. I notice that many people have had this same problem but i would like to know how to sort it out without spending extra money as THIS IS NOT OUR FAULT!! It seems clear that it is the update unless odds longer than winning 5 countries lottery in a week have come in and this many iphones have lost wifi connectivity in a single day.... I think not. Anyway back to the point, is there anything i can do to rectify this? My wife has the same problem and yet again.... What a long shot.

    Hey iphoneboy16
Create a Shared Photo Stream to get any missed photos that did not make it into the Photo Stream. Remember, when you turned on Photo Stream it will start to copy new photos taken at that point in time. It also only holds the pictures for 30 days and up to 1000 photos.

Maybe reboot your router. Unplug it for about 30 seconds or so and then plug it back in. Reboot your iPad while the router is powering up.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • How do I connect my airport extreme to wifi as a repeater

how do I connect my airport extreme to wifi as a repeater?

    Thanks for the info.
Unfortunately, Apple has designed their routers to only extend or repeat the wireless signal from other Apple routers.
It would be extremely unlikely that the AirPort Extreme would be able to extend or repeat a wireless signal from another manufacturer's router.
I suppose that it could not hurt to try, but if the Extreme is still unopened, it might be a better idea to return the Extreme, get the information about the router at the neighbor's and then use a product from the same manufacurer that would be compatible to repeat or extend the wireless.

So disappointed with IOS 6.  I'm having weak wifi connection since upgrading to it.  Can Apple do something about it? Can you at least reset it to IOS 5.1.1?

Sorry Jim for the wrong question because I'm getting frustated with my IPAD since I can't use it for surfing internet with a faster speed.  Ipad was very convenient to use until this IOS 6 upgrade.  Tried all the suggestions in the forums but still gets back to weak wifi connection.
