Wifi connection become's very slow on my laptop

Hi guys... So, recently I had bought my new laptop and from the first day I have noticed that the internet on it is very very slow (wifi connection). AT FIRST I thought that there is some thing wrong with my router but after 2 hours I changed my mind because the Internet speed on my mobile (which connected in the same network and router) is more fast than it on my laptop , and it is also very fast on my old laptop (pavilion i5/win7).
As I have mentioned before I had bought this one recently so it's pure.. I didn't touch it is drivers or it's software just like stock.
I also need to to say that sometimes the wifi connection on my laptop becomes fine and quite fast and in sometimes becomes slow, the interesting part is that when it becomes slow I restart my laptop and it becomes fast again!! I can't find find where is the error in, hardware or software I have no idea
Hope u could help..
Thanks in advance ^^

  • IOS7 wifi and LTE speed very slow.

iOS7 wifi and LTE speed very slow compared to iOS6.  This was proven with Safari and using speed test app.

I have exactly the same problem symptom ever since installing iOS7. Toggling the FaceTime or the LTE settings alleviated the problem until I installed the latest version on IOS (7.0.4- 11B554a). Now the bug is permanent, a Network Reset will not work anymore, a System Reset will work only for the first execution of Speedtest.
Looks like the network software is throttling LTE speed to the minimum (.50 Mbps) up/download speed no matter what. Now unlimited Data means nothing, maybe AT&T wants me to go to Verizon or Tmobile.
I reported this problem to AT&T Sept 26 when I first installed IOS7, they told me there was no problem really that I needed to wait for the LTE network congestion to go away...? Since I found a circumvention by toggling LTE I did not pursued the problem...
After reporting the problem again this morning, they sent me to the AT&T store to change the SIM card.... I will try this and report back if it fixes the problem... Although I doubt it will fix anything but burn and extra hour of my day. The AT&T rep said that if the new SIM card doesn't fix the problem I need to go to Apple for them to give me a new Iphone....???? I guess there are many iPhones gone bad after installing IOS7 (sarcasm).
If you have this same problem, please post here so that I am able to get back to AT&T with some leverage to get them to remove the choking of LTE. Basically, if everyone accepts the new low speeds, then, unlimited data is no longer a problem for this phone company.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The following article(s) may help you.
    Troubleshooting WiFi Networks
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • WRT54G V8 wired connection recently got very slow. HELP!

Hello, I have a WRT54G V8.0 wireless router. I bought it about 3 months ago, and it was working just fine. But on the last coupe of days, the connection speed became really slow.
The setup is as follow: 2 PCs connected directly by wire, and one connected through the wireless connection. All three of them use Windows XP.
I connected the modem directly to one of the PCs and speed improves a lot. Then I connected only that PC through the router (disabling the wireless connection) and speed goes down again, so I'm pretty sure it's the router.
I did some testing using the speedtest.net website and, with the modem directly connected to the PC, I get 1024 Kbps (my connection) all around the world, but with the router on, connection speed drops to 200-400 Kbps depending on how far the test server is located. I already had the latest firmware upgrade (8.0.0.5) and I've reseted the router back to factory settings, but speed still really slow.
I'm not using any firewall on neither of the PCs, except for Windows XP default firewall.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

As you have tried all the possible settings on your router to improve the speed. I think it could be the problem with the router's firmware. May be your can do is, Re-Flash the firmware on your router, once the firmware is upgraded Press and hold the reset button for 1 minute...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 1 minute and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • 4s trouble with wifi. it connects however is very slow then switches back to 3g

If anyone out there could help I would appreciate it!
iphone 4s brought as a replacement form Apple on the 6 September  2013 has developed an issue!
I can connect to my home BT HomeSpot however its so slow and will then go back to 3g, so frustrating!  I have a BT Booster and the single is strong, we have no problem with any of our other devices.
i've been to the Apple store twice now and they've said there is nothing wrong with the device as it works on there wifi!
    Can anyone help?

I have brought the Virgin Media super hub back to the manufacturing original configuration then changed the user name and password. Only my iphone was connected. Then I've switched to 5 Ghz = 30Mbpm BANG!; went back to 2.4Ghz=dead. Now is getting worst. At the beginning it was picking at least 2Mbpm. Then 1. Then 0.something. Now it doesn't even connect. I'm pretty sure the iphone 5 must have 2 antennas and the one that uses 2.4Ghz is just gone.
    Any advice?

  • Printing to Airport Express connected Laserjet 1012 very slow after update to 10.6.8

After updating a pair of computers that we have here to 10.6.8, printing to our Airport Express connected HP LaserJet 1012 has become incredibly slow. I timed it and it is taking 2:30 to print a blank page, whereas printing the same blank page under 10.6.7 (on an external drive connected to the same MacBook Pro) happens within 2 seconds. One thing that I have noticed is that when I bring up the HP Printer Queue the computer says 'connecting to printer' for 20 - 30 seconds, then sits at 50% complete on the printing for some time - anyone else running into similar problems?

Because I am not experiencing the same issue I have not needed to apply the CNET article. But just to be clear, did you follow the instructions to the letter?
If you did and it's still not working then you can begin narrowing down where the problem is by following some basic trouble shooting steps. First thing I'd try is creating a new user account (call it TEST ACCOUNT) and leave it alone, then try printing from that account. If it works then you know it's a software issue in your normal user account. If it still doesn't work then what I'd do is:
    1. Download 10.6.8 Combo Update at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
    2. Disconnect all peripherals (including the printer)
    3. Backup using both Time Machine and/or a Bootable Clone using SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner
    4. Restart from the Bootable Clone or the Snow Leopard install discs.
         a) choose language
         b) Click Utililities Menu
         c) Disk Utility
         d) highlight the internal HD and the First Aid tab
         e) Repair Disk Permissions, Verify Disk & Repair Disk.
         f) exit Disk Utility and restart in Safe Mode
    5. Install the Combo Update
    6. Restart normally and test the system
    7. Begin connecting peripherals one by one and testing each.

  • Time Capsule wifi file transfer is very slow

File transfer to and from Time Capsule over wifi is way too slow. I'm trying to transfer a 8 gb file and it says will last over a day to do it! I restart the time capsule several times and I see no improvement.
I have a 2 GB Time capsule model BCGA1302 running 7.6.3 firmware. My wireless network is set to 802.11a/n - 802.11b/g/n (automatic) and I have a Macbook Pro Retina mid 2013.

I am having issues interpreting the screenshots.. but the name on both 2.4ghz and 5ghz is the same. Lothlorien
The 5ghz is added by the TC itself.. so it is not a different name.
The speed on 2.4ghz is 54Mbps and it is using channel 1
The speed on 5ghz is 27Mbps on channel 157
I am not sure what the % values mean.
But I do know that if this is one wall then the wall must be made out of stone or wet bricks.. or some very solid material .. because that is terrible.
Put the TC in the same room as the computer or move the computer to the same room as the TC.. do you get better speeds now??
The final conclusion is.. use ethernet.. again as I say.. wireless is not suitable for backup if you cannot get decent link speeds.. internet is probably fine at 54Mbps .. that should give real world transfer speed of around 22Mbps which is as fast as adsl at least can go.

  • Oracle 11g database Connection & Response are very slow

I have an ORACLE 11g R2 on lRed Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.3 (Tikanga).
    initially it was working fine.
Now a days while attempting to connect into the database from network using @service_name
it takes a lot of time to establish the connection and even it gets connected the query response time is very high.
on the other hand if I connect from the native database machine's terminal without @service_name it works fine & the response time is convincing. But even from the native database machine's terminal with @service_name it is giving me the same pain.
can any body help me how to fix this.
    Thanks in advance..

  • Connection creation is very slow in SJSAS

    Hi All,
I am have deployed an CMP application and created a connection pool & datasource for Oracle Database (Non-XADatasource).
When i specify the connection pool min-size as 10 and max-size as 20, the application is responding fast.
But if i increase the pool size ( min=60 & max=70 ), the application takes time to respond.
Sun one app server is taking very long time approx- 15min to create 60 connections.
Any idea or I am missing something...
    very urgent,
    thanks,
    Bobby.

Have you ruled out performance bottlenecks on the server itself? If you are memory starved, your performance will drop off a cliff. Check your available physical memory.

  • Integration_Directory_HMI connection test is very slow

    HI all
This RFC connection test is success by giveing 500 status code. But it is taking lot of time like 20Min.
Can some one suggest what is the problem. How can I tune it?

Yeah this was fixed. This is due to my application where we are using the file and JDBC adapters. in one of the sender JDBC we written long SQL query with union statement. Where it is going to infinite loop. Hence the JAVA engine is going to die.
So for this we went to offline config tool and stop the file and JDBC services and started the SAP again and now it is smooth and fine.

    fixed with this method:
    http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=319710

  • VERY unstable WiFi connection Xperia Z2 5.0.2

    Hello,
For some reason my wifi connection is either very slow, or there isn't any connection. And when it does connect, it is REALLY slow, and then it drops.
I get really frustrated because on my other devices such as an asus notebook and a Samsung tablet it works like a charm.

I notice the same thing with the latest firmware (28) sometimes while connected to my home wifi network. When I'm outside, my phone will show a full connection, or 3/4 bars, but there's no Internet access. If I toggle wifi off and on, it sometimes kick starts it, sometimes doesn't do anything. When I'm inside, I have no issues. It's almost as if the wifi icon is buggy. As if it doesn't show a true reading of the wifi signal strength.

  • Bluetooth connection slowing down Wifi connection

I have seen few discussions here about this topic but I haven't found the right solution to my problem.
So each time I turn on the Bluetooth connection the wifi connection becomes really slow. I am using the Bluetooth connection mostly for my external keyboard.
I am using Maverick 10.9.2 OS.
I read somewhere that the problem occurs because of the frequency range that my wifi and bluetooth are using, currently both are using 2.4 Ghz.
However, I am not able to change the frequency from my pocket wifi router (from 2.4 to 5 Ghz) which could solve the problem.
Any ideas, is there any other solution to this problem?
I guess I could just buy a USB keyboard instead Bluetooth but it's not ideal.

Unfortunately, it's a problem that's been going on for years (at least 4) and I've yet to find a satisfactory answer.
It shouldn't be a problem with the 2.4GHz range - but you could always test this, of course, by purchasing a dual band router. I have one of the 5th generation Apple Extreme's and it works quite well (though, if I were buying now, I would upgrade to the newest AE).
My only other suggestion would be to take your MacBook Pro into your local Apple Store and see if they know how to fix the problem.
    Best of luck,
    Clinton

  • Wireless Internet connection very slow

The wireless connection has gotten very slow. I have restarted the modem but that has not improved the connection. I am about to restart the TC and see if that improves the connection. What is the best way to shut the TC down and restart it? The only way I know is to unplug for 15 seconds and then put the plug back in.
    Thanks

    Try the following ...
o Power-down the modem, Time Capsule (TC), and computer(s); wait at least 10-15 minutes. Order is not critical.
o Power-on the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
o Plug-in the TC; wait at least 5-10 minutes.
    o Power-on the computer(s).

  • Wifi is very slow

lately my wifi has been running very slow .  even facebook is slow launching web pages.  safari cycles and cycles

    Fix Slow WiFi Issue https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2398063?start=60&tstart=0
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
