WiFi Connection failure
I updated my Z2 OS today and completely lost WIFI. Di a backup, reset and restore and still no wifi. Can Sony please hep? Obviously a bug. Cannot access anything without wifi.
This is one area that Sony really needs to improve on. Whether it's wifi, Bluetooth, gps, cell network, many other phones do it much better. Even cheaper ones like the Asus ZenFone 2. For a device like the z2, it should have top notch connections.
I also have wifi problems still. Firmware 690 fixed them for the most part, but firmware 723 and 28 broke it again. This is unacceptable for a flagship device, let alone a $700 phone made by a manufacturer as big as Sony. Even the speakers on this phone are considered low compared to other devices. I love my z2 and all, but there's MANY MANY areas where Sony needs to step up their game. And if they don't, people will end up going with other manufacturers.

WIFI connection failure in Windows 7
I have my IMac 27" Intel Core i7 3.4GHz with 4GB RAM(Mid 2011)...I have installed all the drivers properly from Boot Camp...
When I run Win7, I have a WIFI connection failure. The situation is like this:
It is able to search all the available SSID in my area. I selected my own SSID and input a correct authentication key. It showed trying to connect but ended up with connection failure. I tried to connected to one of the public WIFI (no authentication key is required) and also had the same problem. However, there is no problem in connecting the WIFI in Mac OS Lion (10.7.2).
Does anyone has any idea if I have missed something or it is a hardware problem or the IMac 27" does not support WIFI in WIn 7?
Looking forward for your help and thank you!Installing any OS isn't an exact science let alone trying to install two different OS's on the same machine so there are troubles to be had.
Things to try:
Make sure you have used the Apple Software Updater in Windows.
Restart into the Windows Installer disk and look for the "Repair Windows" option and see if that helped.
Under 10.6 you could insert the MacOS installer disk while booted in Windows and it would give you the option to install the Boot Camp drivers or Repair them. You would repair them. I'm unfamilier with the 10.7 way so I'm guessing you may still have the option?
Insert the Boot Camp driver device you made and let it "Run" and see if there is an oprion to Repair the Boot Camp Drivers.
Uninstall the iSight drivers and try installing just the iSight driver from the Boot Camp driver disk you made.
In the Device Manager select Network Adapters / right click and select Update Driver Software, then follow the directions. -
WIFI connectivity failure; authentication issue, then suddenly, we're in.
Okay, so I admit to being confused. Why would the Playbook refuse a connection, timing out on authentication, to a saved wifi site. Extensive testing of other devices showed no problems with the wifi connection. Diagnostics on the wireless router indicated no problems. The Playbook device MAC address is stored in the DHCP client list, although that level of security isn't required. And then after an afternoon's worth of attempts, and troubleshooting, suddenly we have a connection. NOTHING WAS CHANGED on either the Playbook or the wireless router, other than the deletion of the saved connection information, and then re-entering it, and four (4) restarts. The restoration of service happened in the middle of reviewing the logs in the diagnostics.
Seriously, anyone got any ideas? Am I looking an intermitency that is indicating future catastrophic failure?Playbook connectivity can be strange, with any Wi-Fi offering.
With Starbucks, which with an iPod/iPhone/Android phone or tablet it always happens that logging on with user/pass works, the Playbook always states that the connection has been disabled.
I then have to open the connection and restart. It will connect, but without having gone through the user/pass operator.
Then, ordinary use is allowed and I can surf for a time, until, looking at the Wi-Fi strength, it shows disconnected, and I have to go through the same operation again.
This has happened every time except for twice in about three months. With any other phone or tablet, the Starbucks page comes up with the requisite buttons to press to connect.
Why is it that all that happens with the Playbook is a message that it is connected, but never goes through the 'normal' process? That one can then surf, but only for a short time? -
I'm having strange random connection failures. Are there ineffieciency in my config?
I've been having strange, random connection failures and I'm trying to eliminate possible causes.
What happens is while I'm browsing on the net over wifi, a link will at random not connect to the site, but instead fault to the ISP error page. It happens with highly reliable sites like google, or ebay, or whatever. If I direct connect to the cable modem, the problem site is immediately available.
I'm sitting <6 feet from a 871W router (with antenna). There's one router in my building and others are at my neighbors.
Below is the conf file. Just to imagine how rediculious this problem is, here's a screen shot from a web page. This shows a web page I visited, and after clicking on a link (an embedded youtube video), the error showed up within the page itself.
Why would only some URLs fail to connect? Is there inefficiencies in my config?

I'm guessing that since overload is what--I understand--translates the one outside to the many inside IPs, that the suggestion to have only one overload configured means I should combine the two ip ranges into one.
I deleted 10.0.0.0 network. Changed the bridge references to 1 and vlan references to 1. Now wifi and ethernet should all be using the same internal network? That's the idea, right? Any more fat?

My iPhone 5 (newly updated to 6.0.2) will not send messages in iMessage all the time-very inconsistent. The wifi works with my phone when I use apps/search the web with no issues all of the time. For an unspecified time span, iMessage will sometimes send and receive messages, but for the most part will give me the error message: Message Send Failure. My iMessage & facetime is activated on my device for my phone and email addresses. I am in another country currently and solely rely on wifi for my connection and have turned off my data. I have toggled my wifi, turned off my phone, and reset my phone and still haven't had any luck. Any help is greatly appreciated as to why my phone is having these issues in a perfectly fine working wifi connection. (another iPhone 5 user has no issues in the wifi)
Have you tried a complete reset/restore iOS 7?
Back up your iPhone to iCloud and/or iTunes.
Open iTunes and make sure you have the latest version (11.1).
Plug your iPhone into your computer.
On the Summary screen, click Restore next to (Check for Updates). This will reset your phone to factory settings and reinstall iOS 7.
After iOS 7 has been reinstalled, you can restore your back up from iCloud or iTunes. -
Cant WiFi connect HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer to internet
I cant WiFi connect HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer to internet... at least I think that is the problem. I have followed all the instructions on HP Print and Scan Doctor as well as Troubleshoot HP Installation Failure. My router is running fine for everything else and I have entered the static address for the printer into the router. It appears that my printer believes it is connected to my WiFi (Ihave WPS it multiple times), but when I type it's IP address into my IE nothing shows up. My router doesn't appear to see the printer either. I have the latest driver installed on my computer. I suspect this may be a router issue: new router Asus Double 450 Mbps N Router (Dual band - but it appears my router is using the 2.4Hz band to communicate with WPS). Windows 7 64.
Any help is appreciated!
This question was solved.
View Solution.Hello NRHII,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're unable to connect the Officejet 8600 over a wireless connection. I will do my best to assist you! I would recommend power cycling the router, printer and computer:
1) Turn off your printer
2) Disconnect the power cord from the back of the router
3) Restart your computer
4) Wait less than 60 seconds, plug the power cord back into the router
5) Turn your printer back on, wait for the computer to turn on
Is the wireless light blinking on your printer? If so, please reconnect the wireless on your printer by using the wireless setup wizard: (This information is stated here.)
On the printer touch screen, touch the Right Arrow ( ) to display the second navigation screen.
Touch the Setup icon ( ).
Touch Network , touch Wireless Setup Wizard , and then touch Continue . The printer searches for available networks.
Touch the name of your network, and then touch OK .
If prompted, enter the network password, and then touch OK . The printer connects to the network.
Also, as I was typing this post TreeFrog posted some great information to follow.
Have you followed this entire HP document on Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection? If not, follow this document. Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you.
Have a great day!
I worked on behalf of HP. -
Why do I have Intermittent Wifi Connection Loss during music streaming ?
Hello,
I have an ipad3 and an iPhone 4S and I am getting with both devices interruption of the sound when I send music to the Apple TV. It generally happens after a few minutes. The signal for the wifi is still good and I have still access to the Internet I have tried all the recommendations of the article "iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections" but this did not help. I have used several applications for sending music to the Apple TV (music application from Apple and DSAudio from Synology) but I'm getting the same issue. I have also the same issue with the media center application from Bouygues Telecom connecting directly to my internet router. My router is a bbox sensation. I had also the same kind of issue with my old router when sensing photo albums to the internet: I had the error message "your system is running low on ressources". How can I solve these intermittent wifi connection losses ?Try #5.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Time Capsule connection failure
My Airport Time Capsule has a "Connection failure" message in my finder. The actual device flahes orange, it has been doing this for a while but it hasn't been a problem until now. I've always been able to connect through it to WiFi and backup wirelessly. Now My wifi is connected but I can't back up my time machine. I'm not sure how to "reset" it, and it doesn't seem to have any other problem when I looked at the diagnostics. The "Connect As" doesn't work either as it says I need to check my network connection.
Thanks for the helpReboot the TC alone..
No luck reboot the whole network.. restart in correct order.
Modem.. TC.. wait 2min for each.
Clients.
No luck.. are you on Mavericks.. we will need to detail a whole full network reset to factory and overhaul.
To do that we need full network info. Models and versions of everything. -

Hi. I am having problems connecting to the wifi at my caravan site. My iPad recognises the connection but when I put the password in correctly it says it cannot connect. I have reset my network settings in general but it has made no difference . Any ideas?
Some may not be applicable.

Why does my iPad often lose the Wifi connection?
Hello all -
Often when I am using my iPad at home (which is where i use it 95% of time), the WiFi connection will simply disappear - sometimes every 2 minutes of so. Sometimes, when I pull up the "Utility" screen from the bottom (sorry, don't know the correct name), and then unclick the WiFi connection, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on - the connection comes back. But that probably only works 10-30% of the time.
The way I can always make it come back is to go to the Settings app, click on Wifi, where it shows no connection. Then if I turn on WiFi, after a couple of seconds I see my network appear under the "Choose a Network..." section, and then a few seconds later, see it appear in the top section.
Does anybody know why this might be happening and what I can do to fix it?
Thanks.Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
