Wifi connection is not automatically recognized until I manually select it. How do I correct this?

I have a 17" macbook pro and since I installed the Yosemite OS, my laptop does not automatically find my wifi. I have to manually click on the signal icon and select my wifi network. Does anyone know how to correct this problem? Thanks in advance!

I recently got the same problem and noticed that it only started after I'd downloaded a particular app which used the location feature. It was the free version of the Weather Channel that started it off and, since I've deleted it, I've not had the problem of being in Singapore or China since!
I expect there will be other apps that cause the same issues - probably a bad piece of code being used to pick up the location function. It might be worth trying to turn individual apps off that feature in location services to pinpoint which other apps may causing your problem.

Computers connecting to internet via time capsule are reporting no internet connectivity. PC is reporting default gateway has changed. How to I correct this?

Am having trouble with maintaining a stable wireless network via the Time Capsule. Am running 1 Mac and 3 PC on a Time Capsule wireless in bridge mode connected to a Verizon wireless router. Verizon wireless is turned off and the Time Capsule seems to be staying connected to the Verizon router. When any of the connected computerss goes to stanby, they often report the internet is no longer available. The PCs say the default gateway has changed ans the Mac simply reports the network parameters have changed. What do I need to do to the Time Capsule to stabilize the wireless network?

It is unlikely that the gateway changes.. but anything is possible.. sorry I am not in the US.. is your service adsl or cable?? What sort of lease time does the public IP have? Some cable companies now rotate then on the hour I noticed.. others on about 3months.. but most it is one day.
Track it yourself.. see what gateway address the TC gets and if it is rotating with the IP.
If your client computers are running Mountain Lion.. the plain fact is, they are not particularly stable.
Wireless is worst.. ethernet tends to be ok.. but for instance Laptops updated to Mountain Lion can be pretty flakey.. with the TC.. and it is the combo that is more the issue. People report improvement with clean install of ML. BUT there is still a bug there that causes the ML to be less than fantastic.
I experience it occasionally even with a dlink wireless router.. after a wake from sleep.. the network will drop out and need to be manually connected back.. I have to admit I expect no better from Mountain Lion. I could load Snow Leopard on it and it would drop once every blue moon.. but I got the laptop with ML so I live with it.. !!

Up graded to 4.o, now the google function upper left corner will not allow me to open previous sites. How can I correct this?

in the past all I had to do was single click on the previous sites I had visited and they would open up. Now that I have updated to 4.0 I click on them but they do not appear in the google window. I tried to copy and paste to main search bar but they will not let me paste either .

We bought the iPhones and Ipad so that we could send emails while we are out of the Office, but we are not able to do this unless we can find a WiFi connection. Incoming emails are fine. We use IMAP, for Business emails just incase this is relevant and I know that Hotmail is POP3.
Our technical IT knowledge is not great, so we look forward to your suggestions as to how to resolve this.

We used java and JSSE to acces an https URL, with a 64 bit certificate, it's ok.
We try to use the new certificate 128 bit, it's KO.
We need to declare this new certificate with keytool in a keystore, and to add in the java program the reference to the keystore file.
Is it normal, why this new certificate is not automatically recognized in the cacerts ?

we had the some problem.
The new certificate is Class 3 Version 3, but in the cacerts file is present only the Version 1.
The first solution was been to include our certificate in cacerts file and redistribute the cacert file to our clients (or click always in the alert pop-up). ORRIBLE!
The finally solution (i hope) is to set up correctly the web-server.
We have Apache 1.3.27 + mod-ssl. The installation of certificates has involved the only authenticated certificate file and private key. By the way there's another file that is not in use by default: the intermediate.crt file (in httpd.conf is indicated by tag SSLCACertificateFile). The intermediate.crt is distribuited by Verisign and it must be installed to solve the problem.
The difference is visible in Mozilla browser too.

You can't use your wi-fi connection when not at home. Heck, my wi-fi connection bales out halfway down the back garden. Many places offer wifi hot-spots. Go google. The only (relatively) surefire way to be able to get on the internet anywhere is to have a 3G capable iPad and corresonding data plan.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear you had problems in the are you're in AkJohnDye. I checked your coverage and I do see we have an extended 4G coverage. This means you're able to use your phone but it needs to be activated in a 4G LTE Verizon Wireless coverage zone. I apologize.

I have upgraded my iMac to Yosemite but now my two Canon Printers no longer print from Photoshop CS6. I have upgraded the drivers. All other applications including Lightroom are fine. I am receiving an error message as follows:"There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents." How can I get the OS to return a list of printers to Photoshop when Photoshop requests a list.

Printing from PS CC worked fine today. I made no changes to preferences. In between working with 2 projects, the first one printed fine, the second gave me this Error Message.

Now I've checked for updates for my printer, reset my printer, reset PS CC preferences, picked my printer as Default and Last Used, and rebooted. I've followed all the recommended fixes for this issue I could find here and on the internet. I can print fine from any other program. Alas, the error message keeps popping up and I can't print.

I've never had this problem before. It only affects Photoshop CS6 and CS5 that I have installed. I'm running MAC OS 10.9.5
I have three printers and HP and two Epsons, and I get this dialogue when trying to print from Photoshop CS6 or CS5.

Just confirming, when you have the trouble, the wifi icon is grayed-out or has all bars showing? I believe you are saying that is is grayed-out - not connected to your wireless router.
I have a Mini that started to lose connection to the Internet after the 10.7.3 update but still showed the wireless as connected. If I pinged the wireless router, I would get a quarter of the packets failing to return. The router was a Netgear that supported 802.11N connections. As a test, I set it to 802.11G (54MBps) maximum and the Mini worked fine for a week - no dropouts. And for the other devices that did support 802.11N, while there was a noticeable delay with downloads and pages loading, they still worked.
As another test, I changed the Netgear router to a Billion 802.11N model and the Mini has not had a problems since. (It is still using 802.11g). So it could be your router that is causing trouble for your Mac.
