WiFi connection's only possible when iphone's lying directly next to router

Hey everybody,
my iphone 3GS, 32Mb, is only connecting to internet, when it's directly next to the router or the repeater. Not only at my homenet, also with all other WiFis I'd tried yet.
I restartet, canceled everzthing, restarted, rebooted... nothing had helped so far.
Anz idea or help

If the same problem with every wi-fi you have access to and connect your iPhone with, if no change after resetting network settings on your iPhone and/or after restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, more than likely your iPhone has a hardware problem with the wireless card or with something else.

There are some steps on this page for syncing a device (the page talks about iPhones, but it would work for iPads as well) to a new computer : Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive.
When you connect an iPad to a computer's iTunes for the first time it might give you two options, to replace what is currently on the iPad with what is in that computer's iTunes library, or to set it up as a new device (i.e. remove all content from it) - hopefully the above page will get around that.
You should be able to use different computers to update the iOS version and to sync content (can you not use the same computer ?), but you will probably have to do the above for both.
If you don't currently have anything on the iPad that you don't mind losing (have you downloaded apps or other content when you've had access to wifi e.g. in shops, other people's homes ; or got any documents etc on it) then you don't need to go through the steps on that page.

Air print, and the normal hp airprint set up requires that the pad and the printer be on the same wifi net work. The 'connecting' is done by your router. That means remote printing wont work with the out of the box stuff. I think you might find some 3rd party apps that do support remote printing, but i have not seen any reports from users that found a really good solution. Print n share reads like it might work, i am sure some users will chime in.

I just tried redeeming my software online. I went through the whole process, got the password, and proceeded to get the software to download. But soon after, the wifi connection was disconnected, and when I tried to connect the ethernet cable, the entire software had disappeared from my launchpad. When I tried to restart the download, it kept saying that the password had already been used before, and that it could only be used once per computer. What do I do now?

You shouldn't have to re-enter the code, Lion should be on your purchases list so you can re-download it. In the App Store, click Purchases... do you see ML there?

I Am having trouble keeping my wifi connection on iPhone 5 but especially ipad2. Have had IPad checked out and is fine. At
&T has changed the router 3 times but no help. Will a different router other than AT&T solve this problem and if so, which one.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Wifi connection unreliable only on my HP 23-h020a, all other devices work fine

We have just bought two brand new HP devices but are having major problems with the pavilion 23-020a. Basically the wifi connection is rubbish! All other devices in the house work fine and the PC itself is only a couple of meters from the modem and showing full connectivity. However we cannot reliably get internet connection when using wifi. Sometimes it's fine for a couple of minutes, some pages load, some don't, if my kids are in the middle if doing their home work when it comes to them moving on to the next page to do their online test, the page won't load and all their work is lost. This is totally unacceptable! If we connect using the Ethernet cable it's fine but to do that we have to have two meters of cable running across our sitting room. I need this resolved! We have tried all available wifi channels and nothing has helped. I hope someone here can! Thanks

Family members with iphones can connect to the wifi automatically and Mac compiuter in home connects to this wifi and this iphone did connect automaticcally until a few weeks ago. Does not request password when try to connect to own wifi..just says "cant access.". Also cant access the Apple apps store to purchase apps but all other function operate normally. Apple store tech says nothing wrong with phone. It connected to their wifi and coud access apps store from their wifi. This iphone belongs to son who is autistic. I am mother trying to resolve this issue and very frustrated. Have reset router but no change.

Based on the symptoms, your phone is fine, and the Router is the problem. Try http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398. Specifically the "forget this network" step. I would also consider resetting the wifi network password. Sometimes that will allow a connection.

Is viewer tracking only possible when viewer is registered?

We want to upload presentations made with Presenter onto Adobe Connect and allow for on-demand viewing.
How will we be able to track viewers?
Is it possible to send the URL of the presentation to an email address and track when that person had viewed the presentation and how many times?
(this is possible with Brainshark by adding ?tx=%%email address%% to the end of the URL )
OR
Would all our viewers (even if invited via email) have to register to an Event on Adobe Connect, in order for us to track who viewed the presentation?
Are there other possibilities to track the viewers?

Content objects in Connect do not have user specific tracking. There are some options that could act like user tracking, but they can be hard to manage. One option, since you are using Presenter, is to put in a survey fill-in-the-blank question that asks viewers to put their name/email in. This answer will be recorded and saved in Connect, thus giving you a list of individuals who have seen the presentation. This will work even if the content is made publicly viewable (no username/password required to view).
The other option is to use the Email Link tool and have it send a notification whenever someone clicks on the link. However, there is the pit fall here that if the email gets forwarded you get multiple notifications for one individual and the other people don't get credit. In a worst case scenario you may receive hundreds (or more) emails a day saying that one person viewed the content, when it is many people who have received the forwarded email. There is also no way to disable access to the content through these links, other than removing the content from the servers, and the links remain active for 60 days (I think)
Other than that, you would need to have the Training or Events module of Connect which will track who accesses the presentation.

Keynote Remote, but you will need wifi. You can set up an ad-hoc wifi network from your Macbook itself ("Create Network" from the Wifi menu), which the iPad can connect to.
