WiFi connectivity to LG LCD TV (model 32LD550)

I have recently purchased a web enabled LCD Television that I am trying to hook up to my airport extreme. I have purchased the correct "dongle" from LG to allow it to sync up to my wireless network, but am having a hard time gaining access. I find my network on the list the TV pulls up, enter my password, it tries to connect, but is unable to get past the "Gateway". Is there a setting I need to check on my AirPort to allow access? Thanks in advance.

Right now it's just a hunch, but I had a similar problem when my new Xbox 360 would not connect to my 5 GHz 802.11n network even though I knew its built-in wireless was supposed to support this. When I reconfigured my router to provide a 2.4 GHz 802.11n network, the Xbox had not trouble connecting.
By default, your simultaneous dual-band Extreme will broadcast the same Network Name for both radios. It may be that this adapter is having trouble with that. I would recommend that you rename the 5 GHz network with a different name. If this doesn't resolve the problem, you can always rename it back.
With each radio having a unique name, try connecting the TV to each to see if it can now connect to one or the other. Please post back your results.

  • How do I restore without any wifi connectivity?

My apologies if this has already been asked. My iPad 2 will not connect to the wifi. It does not even pick up any SSIDs in the list of available connections. I have iTunes 11.1.1 on Mac on the computer connectivity side, and my iPad was just updated to the latest version of iOS (7.0.2?)
    Things I have tried:
    Turn wifi on/off
    Restart
    Reset network settings
I suspect a hardware issue but I want to exhaust the software possibilities first.
I have connected to iTunes and attempted to restore, however I cannot restore from iTunes because Find my iPad is on. In order to turn it off, I need to enter my Apple ID on the iPad itself, which obviously will not work without wifi connectivity (no 3G on this model). I have also attempted to first Erase all Settings from the iPad, but this also requires an Apple ID authentication. How can I restore this without any sort of internet connectivity? I can connect via USB to iTunes and I can't believe there's no way to make that happen

Ha...well, thanks for finally being honest!!
No problems...even though what you said made sense with regard to sync happening automatically (and, for me, happening quickly enough that I didn't see what as happening) I didn't mention in this thread that I created the following situation that I hinted at above.
There was a game app that had data associated with it on my iPad that my son has been playing with an accidentally threw out.  I had a backup created because, with the new computer, I upgraded the iPad to OS 5.  I thought I could plug in, choose a backup to restore from, and get the app and some data back.  Well, I tried it...being unfamiliar with the process and whatever...and it did NOT work. PROBLEM was that before trying to restore, I REINSTALLED the app from iTunes and it came in a 'fresh install"....no data.  I then unplugged the iPad to try it out and that is when I realized no data was transferred.  When I plugged back in to finally do the restore, I think it BACKED UP THE NO-DATA app thereby erasing any chance I had and recoving the app's old data.
I mean...I think that is what happened....hence all my questions that you have been helping with!!
Now...since ya LIED to me ...I have another question!!:
Where exactly are those backups??  I know some stuff here in my new Lion is now hidden when, back in 10.4.11 at least, I could look through the folders.  I found user/music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Mobile Applications and, in there, a bunch of "ipa" files associated with my iPad...but I haven't found the preferences folder location that you speak of...
And if you find an explanation or more info, thanks...but don't have to kill yourself!

  • Any wifi connection problems with new Macbook Pro 13" models?

I currently use a 15" Macbook Pro (about 3.5 years old) that has intermittent WiFi connection issues (intermittently loses signal). This seems to have been a very common problem with this laptop model. My kids, who use Macbooks, have no connection problems. In any case, I'd love to buy one of the new model 13-inch Macbook Pro's but hesitate because of my many issues with WiFi connectivity on my older Macbook Pro. Just wondering if anyone is experiencing connectivity problems with the new model?

I've never had Wifi connection problems with a Macbook and now with the 13" MacBook Pro I was flabergasted when I took my MacBook down the street to a coffee house with free WiFi. I went to connect to their WiFi and found my own WiFi connection listed. I thought this odd even though I was on the same block as my apartment, my apartment is six stories up. I connected to the Coffee Shop WiFi but it was really slow so I wondered if I could connect to my own home connection. I switched it over and lo-and behold I did connect! It was a good 300 feet away! I NEVER saw this with previously owned MacBooks including the black MacBook and the MacBook offered just before they moved the MacBook up to the Pro series.
So I'd say they have improved the WiFi nicely.

  • MacBook Pro loses wifi connection upon wake since I bought a new AirPort Express

Hi. I've been using Apple devices and computers since february 2008 and had no problems until now. I currently own an early 2011 13" MacBook Pro and a PC running Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.10. Until early February, I used a 2nd gen AirPort Extreme to connect to wifi upstairs, being connected via Ethernet to my ISP's modem located downstairs which provides a weak wifi signal (of course my ISP says it's impossible since their modem is the best on the market), not even compatible with Apple's wifi systems (all other French ISPs modems are compatible with it), that's why I had to get a 30 ft ethernet cable running down the stairs. My connection was lost everytime I went upstairs/downstairs so I bought a new Airport Express to replace my ISP's modem wifi signal and I'm using my AirPort Extreme to extend the wifi network upstairs. Now all my devices and computers have a strong wifi signal anywhere in my house with only one downside: My MacBook Pro (and only it) loses the wifi connection upon wake after sleep and I have to disconnect/reconnect it manually. I didn't bother installing Windows on it as I removed the Superdrive to setup a DIY Fusion Drive a few months ago so I can no longer boot optical medias and I can't know if it's a hardware or software problem. Again, everything was working all right on it until I changed my Wifi network configuration a month ago when I bought my Airport Express.
    Can anyone help me ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Well this isn't making sence.
What is the model # on your extreme?

  • I'm having trouble connecting to apps, itunes store, internet on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4.  I am currently connected to a perfectly running WiFI connection.  Why am I not able to connect anything?  I've tried ALL the fixes suggested.  HELP!!!!!!!!!

I'm having trouble connecting to apps, itunes store, internet on my iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4.  I am currently connected to a perfectly running WiFI connection.  This just started happening today (2/19/14)!  Why am I not able to connect anything?  I've tried ALL the fixes suggested.  HELP!!!!!!!!!  BTW, I know my Wi-Fi connection is good because I'm using it on my desktop and other people in my office are also connected on their iPhones and desktops.  Again, HELP!!!!

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPhone a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPhone (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

  • IPhone 5 2.4ghz/ weak wifi connectivity issues

Hello. So when I got my iPhone 5 I had a 2.4ghz linksys router and I thought the router was messing up dropping the connection a few times a day so I bought a Netgear dual band which in return worked pretty well.
Now for some circumstances I had to move for a while to an apartment and the router there is a netgear 2.4ghz and it worked fine since I was very close to the router but then I moved rooms and I would get 2 bars BUT the conection would be super slow, it barely loaded web pages. So I didn't notice this but whenever something heavy was to be loaded, it dropped the wifi connection and used the LTE data. Before you know it, after a day of watching netflix, I had used about 2gb of data. what the frick???
So I decided to test out my iPhone 5 vs my iPad 3 and the results were:
iPhone 5 and iPad 3 did well in 5ghz band, near and far, but iPhone 5 was significantly slower
iPhone 5 did well in 2.4ghz band, near, but still significantly slower than the iPad 3 near the router.
iPhone 5 was slow in 2 bars and dropped connection to LTE in 2.4ghz band, far from the router.
so my conclusion was that maybe my wifi chip is faulty which is why i'm getting very poor signal and connection.
the worst part is it drops my wifi connection and connects to LTE and eats up my data. Turning off cellular data seems to get rid of that issue, but nothing fixes the slow internet while having 2 bars on 2.4ghz.
will they replace my iPhone if I take it to an Apple Store?
would it help that the screen seems to be ungluing from the bottom? i press on it and it makes a clicking sound when before it didn't use to.

You might have to get an antenna for the netgear. My iphone5 was great with my old zytec router. It died and I just bought a netgear, and on the 5 band I still have to be close. I was reading on netgear forum, some of the routers have a weak signal. The iphone 5 has a weaker antenna than previous models.
I had to turn in my first two phone becue they would not even read the wifi on my any router.
A lot of people are having this issue witht he net gear. You can get an atenna, or get a signal enhancing case for the phone.

when i use i pad with apple tv for see my photo, youtube and movies all ok.

I suspect that the problem is in your router. Do NOT consider your router to be blameless if some other devices seem to work with it.
Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. Don't just turn it Off. On many routers that doesn't really do anything but put the router into standby mode. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
There is a chance that some services turned on in your router could be causing problems. Look for a setting called QoS (Quality of Service). If ON turn it OFF.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured.

  • Can I use ipod touch 5th to mirror my screen on Apple TV via Airplay with out wifi connection?

Can I use ipod touch 5th to mirror my screen on Apple TV via Airplay with out wifi connection?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Peer-to-peer AirPlay
With peer-to-peer AirPlay, your iOS device and Apple TV don't need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. If you have one of these products, you can use peer-to-peer AirPlay:
    * iPhone 5 or later, iPad (3rd generation or later), iPad mini, or iPod touch (5th generation) using iOS 8 or later.
    * Apple TV (3rd generation rev A, model A1469 or later) with Apple TV software 7.0 or later. Find out which Apple TV model you have.
To use peer-to-peer AirPlay, your iOS device needs to have both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on.

  • Late 2013 15" Retina Macbook Pro - wifi connection timeout with one router

    Hi,
I've recently purchased a new Macbook Pro retina 15 inch late 2013 model. Everything is fine at home, but at work I cannot connect to one wireless router (Netgear WAG102). The computer tries to connect but I get a connection timeout error after a few seconds for every attempt.
I have tried every suggestion for wifi issues that I can find on the forums, and have reset the router.
A colleague has also recently purchased the same computer except 13 inch model - he has exactly the same problem.
Any suggestions? I suspect given that two of us have the same problem that there is an incompatibility with the MBP and this particular router. I notice that there are quite a few discussions about similar issues with the macbook pro.

I too have a MBP Retina, 15", late 2013, and am having wifi connection issues.  I've tried several fixes suggested on these discussions and by Apple.  Nothing corrects the problem.  I've been told it's my router, but I find that difficult to believe give that my wife has a MBP 13" 2012 (non retina), that has no issues at all, nor do our iPhones.  It's just my MBP Retina.
My issue seems to be when waking from sleep, I lose the wifi connection.  I have to turn wifi of then on again, and it reconnects.  The only thing that corrects the problem for me is when I disable bluetooth.  I have the magic mouse and it's basically useless becuase I need bluetooth on for it to work.
I find this to be an annoying problem.  This is my first MacBook, and I really like it, but this wifi thing is bad.  Never had this problem with my Windows machines.

This is the product code (PC) which is printed on the label (under the battery) and on your sales-box sticker.

  • WiFi connection problems (different than others)

    Hello!
I got an iPod touch 32GB 4 days ago and I have really big problems with WiFi. I cannot connect to any wifi i've tried. Even setting my own wifi unprotected and unfiltered, it still doesn't work. I've also tried at wifi connection at work. Yesterday a mate who has an iPod touch 8Gb and me tried to connect to our wifi at work, and he COULD connect to, but not me!!. Having one each iPod near to other, doing exactly the same steps. No way.
These are the symptoms: I enter the password and it's accepted (if I enter wrong password, or filtered by MAC, I get a response telling that it's not possible to connect; but if I put the right password, it 'connects', tried WEP 40bits using Key1 and WPA PSK). The blue tick appears near to SSID, but there's no blue icon on the upper left of screen (near to 'iPod'). If I enter on configuration of the 'connected' network, I see that I have selected DCHP, but got no IP, no netmask, no router, no anything. So, if I try to set an Static IP, when I exit Settings pannel and enter again, the blue tick is still there, but the settings is set to DHCP again!!.If I sleep/wake iPod, then it appears disconnected.
I'm really getting crazy!. The most incredible thing is that with an iPod 8GB it works and mine's which is an 32GB model and started to sell later, doesn't not work!.
At home I have a Linksys WRT54GL using firmware OpenWRT 0.9. And at work it's one from Telefonica.
Is maybe some kind of known bug that will be fixed on next update? (I really really beg for...). I read somewhere something about a wifi bug in 32GB edition of iPod Touch.... is that true?
Is there something I could try? Any ideas?

    Hi Jason!
I tried the 'Forget this network' several times, but it has no effect. The iPods doesn't get any IP from the router. I can't set an Static configuration anyway, it simply doesn't work. The Static configuration is erased when I leave Settings panel.
In the router's log is not registered any DCHP query at all. I use MAC filtering, but I tried disabling it, no way. If I remove the iPod's MAC, I get an error while trying to connect. When I add the MAC to the list again, it 'connects' the same way I explained before. The same happens with security, bad password: error, good password: 'connects' but no IP no WiFi icon in iPod screen at top, just the blue tick near to the network name...
At home I have two laptop, one PDA and some other wireless gadgets (from friends, etc) that I configured myself in the router and never had a single problem. But with the iPod I couldn't do anything :'(
    Thanks for the idea, anyway

  • New MBP wifi connectivity issues

Recently bought a new MBP about 2-3 months ago and I've noticed almost the entire time I've had it I have always had issues with the wifi constantly timing itself out. I know for a fact that this is not related to my router or ISP as I have other computers on the same network that don't run into these issues. This computer has also been tested with the same results on other wifi connections. I am currently using OS X 10.8.2 on a 15in, mid 2012 model. This issue is very frustrating. I notice this issue during everything I do from Online computer games (WoW) where the connection will just drop to basic web page browsing such as navagating to this page which was a task in itself. I constantly have to turn the wifi off and back on again to refresh the connection and to load web pages.

    Same problem, no solution yet!
