Wifi Country Codes, 12,13

Hi there, let me explain the situation:
Wireless Draytek Router, 2830n, broadcasting country code EU
Macbook Pro, 2 months old
I live in Gibraltar, Europe.  When I try to change the channel of my Wireless Router to 12 or 13 (accepted channels in Europe, not America) my MacBook fails to connect.
All other devices, iPhones, iPads, Samsung, Acer, HP,Dell,Kindle all connect to it with no issues whatsoever.
In System Profiler, my country code on interface en1 (Wifi) is showing up as US.
I managed to get it to connect once, briefly, but then it dropped.
Why do Apple make things so complicated by trying to guess, by using the Wireless Broadcast Mechanism of any routers that may be around, what region I am in?
Surely that is what location services are for?
My Clock automatically picks up Gibraltar, my maps pick up Gibraltar but my Wireless Interface thinks it is in America with 13 Trillion Dollars debt....
Any help would be appreciated.
Adrian.

After many hours of research on the Internet, I sent the following to our Apple re-seller in Gibraltar.
This has fixed the issue for me, no word from Apple as yet, I am not holding my breath.
Thanks to the perl savvy individuals out there on the Internet who changed 2 Apple Macs that thought they were in America to knowing they were in Europe, in particular, British Gibraltar.
OK, have been using the following fix for around 6 months now, for the stupid Macbook Pro picking up the first broadcast it detects and then thinks it is in America, when really it should be China.
This does not allow the Mac to connect on Wifi Channels 12 and 13 in Europe when really it should.
http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/9768/change-mac-os-x-wireless-card-coun try-code
Anyway, after researching the Internet, the following commands work on my 2012 Macbook Pro and my sons 2014 Macbook Pro, both purchased in Europe, from yourselves:
1)
sudo perl -pi -e ‘s|\x81\x78\x30\x6B\x10\x00\x00\x0F\x85|\x81\x78\x30\x6B\x10\x00\x00\x90\xE9 |’/System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortBrcm433 1.kext/Contents/MacOS/AirPortBrcm4331 && sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions/
2)
sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x81\x78\x30\x6B\x10\x00\x00\x0F\x85|\x81\x78\x30\x6B\x10\x00\x00\x90\xE9|' /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortBrcm4360. kext/Contents/MacOS/AirPortBrcm4360 && sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions/
This changes the region of the Wifi card permanently to ETSI, the European standard.  It works pretty well but after upgrading to Yosemite, I had to run the command again on both machines.
If you are going to carry out this fix, the way to determine which Wifi card the Macbook has is:
sudo kextstat | grep AirPort
Then replace the result for the card, e.g. Brcm4360 in my case, in the above 2 command lines.
I never give up.
Regards,
Adrian.

  • How can I use iCloud-keychain if i can not find my country in the country code list?

How can I use iCloud-keychain if i can not find my country in the country code list?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your country code does not appear in the list…
Go to System Preferences > iCloud > Keychain and enter your Apple ID password (Settings > iCloud > Keychain, from a mobile device)
Select the ‘Create Different Code’ option. (Mobile devices only)
Select the advanced option and choose whether to create a random code or no code, selecting the later allows syncing across devices but not with Apple’s servers.

  • Satellite L750D - Cannot register warranty due to country code

Unsure if this is an appropriate question BUT...
I am trying to register my L750D Notebook for warranty and it will not accept my country code.
I live in Australia so the country code is 61. I live in South Australia - code 8 and my phone number is 83xxxxxx.
So I have tried to put the code in as 61 then 8 then 83xxxxxx but it will not accept it.
Would anyone know what I am doing wrong?
I have also tried about 30 other ways of doing it?
    Kind regards

  • CUCM 8.6.2 Generating CSRs With Incorrect Country Code

Hi folks, I'm running CUCM 8.6.2.25900-8 on a single cluster (1x pub, 4x sub). My CA certs for the tomcat service are due to expire shortly so I've generated CSRs for all the servers and submitted them to our provider. All but one of the requests went through with no issues but one failed because the CSR specified a country code of 'US'. We are in the UK and the four other servers all generated CSRs specifying C=GB.
Examining the current tomcat cert or issuing "show web-security" on the command-line of the server who's CSR failed also show 'C=GB'
Looking at the 'set web-security' command it appears that I cannot change the country code.
Why is the server generating CSRs with 'C=US'?
How do I change this behaviour such that they are generated with 'C=GB' instead?

Surprisingly, it has made it all the way to 10.5(x) with the same info and the same error...
I did found a method to change it via root access, and you might not require root access, but I can't tell for sure as I would need to look at exactly what the contents of the file that TAC changes, but apparently it's just the platformConfig.xml that they need to change and reboot.
If that's the case, using the utils import config using pretty much all the same info, except the country, would end up with the same outcome.
Again, not 100% sure but theory says that should do the trick, you can run that thru TAC if you open the case and see what they think about it.

  • How can I make local calls without using a country code when it's in my Contacts?

The phone numbers in my Contacts all contain country codes because I do a lot of travelling.
An example of this might be:
    +1 (229) 123-4567
    +44 (0)12 345 6789
    +31 (0)10 2345 6789
I have an unlocked phone so when I travel, I usually pick up a local SIM and use that to make calls.
The problem I have is that when I am abroad and select a phone number from my contact list it doesn' work. For example, if I select a contact with the number:
    +31 (0)10 2345 6789
A voice-recording comes on saying that the number I had dialed was incorrect.
But when I dial the number manually:
    010 2345 6789
    It works.
In the US I do not have this problem because for some reason, the phone knows whether the +1 is needed or not. I'm sure if it uses it at all when you're in the US. When I dial internationally from within the US, the number dialing works fine.
So this problem only occurs when I'm dialing locally in the country I'm in while travelling outside the US.
Anyone have any idea of why this is happening and more importantly, what I need to do to fix this? I would hate to have go and change all my contact numbers and get rid of the country codes. If I ever have to call those numbers internationally, I'll need to manually add the country code back in.
    Very annoying!
    Advice anyone?

If you include a country number, you have to drop the initial 0 from the area code. eg +31 10 2345 6789 instead of +31 (0)10 2345 6789

  • How do I add the country code to all contacts when it did not previously appear?

I just moved from the US to the UK and purchased a new iPhone 4S.  When my contacts migrated from Outlook to the iPhone they did not include the country code in the US and therefore all contacts numbers are now listed incorrectly.  How can I add the country code to hundreds of contacts painlessly?
    Thanks in advance.

International Assist is activated.  Upon further review this appears to be a case of the original country codes not being added when the contact list was constructed.  iOS has not figured this out and thus when changing countries I've been forced to add the country codes to every contact record manually.  Disappointing and very labour intensive.  If only Apple allowed for a macro that simplified the mass change.

  • How can I call contacts from my list without the country code that is registered with that contact?

I have all my contacts registered with a country code. When I want to make calls from my iphone, I do not want the phone to dial the country code, but only the area code. How can I make that happen?

Your 3G backup contains your contacts already, you don't need to sync them to Outlook or anything just restore the backup file from the 3G onto the 4S and you should be good to go.

  • Not able to create a customer master record with US as the country code

    Hey All,
I am not able to create customer master data in the Transaction Code XD01/FD01 with the country code as US.
The error message for the same is *NO JURISDICTION CODE* COULD BE DETERMINED. I have checked the tax code settings but could not locate the problem.
I have checked the field in the account group(OBD2) but tax code is in  optional status
and also checked the country settings for US in the transaction code OY17 still the same error message,
but when I tried checking the settings for a different company code's customer data base (us in county code)
I can see that there is a number mentioned in the address tab under tax jurisdiction field (beside time zone) which is not populating for this company code.
So, do anyone know where exactly we mention this number so that it populates in that field of address.
    Hope am clear.

    Hi,
You need to maintain the JURISDICTION CODE for country US. This  JURISDICTION CODE code mainatanance purely FI/CO part.. it depends on the country's tax procedures.. Better take the help from your FI/CO consultant..
Menu path for Defining tax jurisdiction code
IMG -- Financial accounting -- Financial accounting global settings -- tax on sales and purchases -- basic settings -- define tax jurisdiction

  • I recently moved from the US to Sweden and all my contacts are saved with their international country code prefixes. I keep getting text message errors when I send a text, but the contact info is stored correctly for each. How can I fix this?

I receive an error message that adds the country code again. I tried it with no country code and the area code included but I still receive an error message. It only does it sometimes and not to all Sweden contacts. There is no obvious reason why it does it to some but not others. Does any know what the problem is and how to fix it? Thank you!

Only other thing I can suggest is to reset your phone. This won't touch any data or settings:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

  • AT THE TIME OF CRETION OF BP IN CRM HOW  GET COUNTRY CODE ATUMATICALY DISPL

hello friend my requirement is at the time creation of bp in crm with instead of manually selection in country code system want pick automatically and display as a display field (not editable to change)
HOW IT IS POSSIBLE and what are things need to do this.
if any one knows please reply
    bindhu

    Hi Bindhu,
    1. You are able to see country field populated by default since for your user the parameter LND has been set to a default value.
To check the same go to transaction SU01, put your username and enter. Select tab Parameters, in column Parameter Id there must be an entry for LND and default value must be assigned to it.
You can also see the same in System-> User Profile --> Own data.
    2. The field is in display mode because of field groupings.
    In transaction SPRO
SAP Implementation Guide -> Cross-Application Components -> SAP Business Partner -> Business Partner -> Basic Settings -> Field Groupings
For one of the option here Address: Country must be set to display. e.g Configure Field Attributes per Activity
Here choose Create, for dataset Addresses, field group Address: Country must be set to display. If not check in others.
If the above 2 are not found, even Badis can be responsible for the same.
    Wish this helps.

  • Creation of new country codes - Serbia.

The business user is not able to find country code for Serbia in production system.
We are currently using SAP ECC 6.0.
I have refered the SAP note no 603152 for creating country code .
Their are two alternatives available to fix it:
    1. Manual creation of country code in the system. We need to maintain additionally the currency also in the system.    Note: I do not know the implication of manual creation of country code in SAP sytem. As Country codes are used by many tables.
    2. If we need new country codes for country settings of Serbia.
Then it can be done by using new SAP Basis (Netweaver) releases from release SAP_BASIS 710 or  appropriate support pack. Then country precustomised setting of serbia can be done by upgrading support pack of basis.
The above alternatives are available. As country code is an important aspect & maintained at client level.
Please let us know which alternative would be suitable, Why.

I would recommend the basis way.
If you go the manual way - Go to T Code OY01.
    Thanks,
    Nandita

  • How to prevent users from entering '+' or '0' in front of country code in the phone number field?

    Requirement:
How can I prevent guest users from entering '+' sign or '0' in front of country-code in the visitor phone number field during self registration?
Few SMS service providers are not looking for '+' sign or '0' or '00' in front of the international phone numbers to trigger the sms. Providing these values in front of country code during self-registration may fail to deliver the sms to recipient.
    Solution:
Using a simple regular expression, you can validate the entered phone number during the guest registration.
The below regular expression will help you to validate the phone number and allows to register only  when the phone number is not staring with '+' or '0'.
    ^[1-9][0-9](\d{7}|\d{8}|\d{9}|\d{10}|\d{11}|\d{12})$
It also performs the below validations.
    only numbers are allowed.
first digit of the entered phone number should be 1 to 9, so '+' or '0' is not allowed.
numbers from 0 to 9 are allowed from the second digit.
also validates phone number length, the length of the phone number should be 9 to 14.
    Configuration:
To add the above regex in the visitor_phone number filed, please navigate to ClearPass Guest >> Configuration >> (Pages)Guest Self-Registration >> select the self-registration page and go to Edit >> Register Page >> Form >>  select the filed visitor_phone and set the Validator to " ISRegexMatch" and enter the above regex in the Validator Argument filed as shown below.
Note:  Edit the Validation Error as per your requirement.
    Verification
Adding the given regex will validate the phone number and prevent the guest user from registering the phone number starts with '+' or '0'.
Please find below the sample outputs for your reference.
Result when phone number starts with '+' or '0'.
    Successful registration.
