[WIFI detail]Is there general build-in method to fetch WiFi SSID detail in windows?
In Windows 8/10 taskmgr [performance] tab, select one ethernet and right click the moving graph, we can view network detail statistics. But there is no difference of counters/properties type between WIFI and cable connection.
WIFI has its important properties such as BSS MAC address, frequency channel, frequency bandwidth, BSS associated time. These properties are very useful in wifi trouble shooting.
In windows now, 3rd part application is need to get there information. (MSinfo32? I have not found them there yet). Inssider program is an example. Version before 4 is free to use.
In MAC-OS system , these information can be easily fetch by press [option] key then clikc WiFi icon.
It will be very helpful if windows 10 provides WIFI details.

Interesting thread, but doesn't appear to be related to my problem. I'm using 1/1000" unit setting, and even a very small number (10/1000") doesn't print anything like that small. 1/2" looks like the shortest height possible (this is a diff number than my original post - I had forgotten to measure including the top/bottom margins. 1/2" is the size of the page from top of page to top of next page).
Just tried using paper.size=256 (mm measure) to see what happens. I set length=4mm, actual print size is about 12.7mm (1/2"), so the problem still exists using a different measuring unit.

Wifi options - is there much difference?
I currently have a "g" wireless setup in my home, perhaps someday I'll get the "n" version. I'm trying to configure a T400 and there are four options that allow for "g" and "n" data rates:
ThinkPad WiFi (BGN)
Intel WiFi Link 5100 (AGN) with My WiFi Technology
Intel WiFi Link 5300 (AGN) with My WiFi Technology
Intel WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350 (AGN) with My WiFi Technology
Is there any special reason why the Intel WiFi Link versions will give me anything special with my plain-jane wireless router or the ones I'm likely to encounter at airports or hotels?
Also, if I want to play with NetStumbler or similar software, is one wifi option better than the others?
Thanks!While I am not sure what the ThinkPad WiFi is (maybe an Atheros based chipset?), the three different Intels offered are actually different despite the similar names.
The 5100 uses a two antenna design and can offered up to a 300mbps raw bandwidth.
The 5300, on the other hand, uses three antenna, and thus can offer up to a 450mbps raw bandwidth.
The last one is simply the addition of WiMAX onto the card.
If you are simply looking for a card that connects well with your router and/airports/wireless APs, then I recommend that you get the Intel WiFi Link 5300 - in my experience, it has very good range and can detect wireless networks fairly well at weak signals. (Most airports / access points only use Wireless B/G)
I wouldn't expect anything "special" with the card when used with your router though, since the card will just default back to 802.11g mode. You might get better range when using this card, however...
Lastly, NetStumbler does not work when you are running Windows Vista Intel drivers - not sure about other chipsets, but if you are running Vista with Intel cards install - NetStumbler won't play very well with it... While you can try running XP drivers under Vista - things tend to crash if you try that.
As for "similar software", it depends on what you are trying to run...

i am looking to buy an ipad 2 or the new ipad (preferably 32gb) but dont want to buy the 3G version as i have unlimited data usage in my mobile phone plan, i know the wifi only ipad is generally cheaper, but i was wondering if there was a way to buy the ipad with 3G capabilities but not use the 3G and avoid the cost of paying the extra unnecessary data plan? I want to change my account payment method to none and I do not have a credit card yet.Plus, iTunes gave a message saying that I need to review my account and when I go there,the none payment method is hidden.
Assuming that you want help and that you aren't just copying-and-pasting that thread's title and posting a link to it, then have you tried the steps on the post that I linked to in my first reply on that thread ?
If you don't get the 'none' option when trying those instructions then you will need to enter credit card details before you will be able to use the account - when you've entered credit card details you should get the 'none' option and be able to remove your card details.

Yes, basically you should use IMPORT/EXPORT statements for clusters.
AR and MC are cluster ID (area identification), so called RELID.
By definition cluster is a combination of table and such area i.e
PCL2(RX) - international payroll resuts from table PCL2

Sankar.Associated with the text box there will be some kind of event handler. Maybe it's an action event on the text box (when the user clicks return) or maybe you have a separate button that the user clicks.
Either way, in the event handler, get the text from the text box, and then call the sendData method, passing the text as an argument. -
I am unable to register my debit card after creating my apple ID. Whenever i click "continue" after filling all the debit card details, it shows that, "Your payement method has been declined". Please help me people, why is it so.? Also, i would ike to tell that my bank is, Union Bank Of India and it facilitates the auto conversion, rupee to dollar.. I think there is a different problem. The card must be issued in the same country as the store you are trying to use. If you're trying to sign up for the US Apple Store, it must be a US card with a US billing address. If you're trying to sign up in India, it must be an Indian card with an Indian billing address.
Apple will run a small charge, which will be credited back, to make sure the card is valid. If it is a debit card and you do not have enough in the account to cover the authorization, it will be declined.
It is possible the currency conversion you mentioned may be causing a problem. Contact the issuing bank if you are sure you have enough in the account and you are signing up for the correct store. -
Is there a standard approved method of transferring your itunes library from an old pc (windows Vista) to a new one (almost certainly Windows 7)? I can't find anything on the standard Apple websites.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on General
3. Tap on Reset
4. Tap on Reset All Settings
What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It doesn’t affect your data. My macbook air will not connect to the internet. There is an exclamation point in the wifi icon and when i go into preferences i see that it is setting its own IP address. I have a macbookpro that is able to connect with no issue. HELP
Reset the TC to factory and start again.
Use all SMB type names for wireless and base station.. Not apple type names.. this is more important since Mavericks.
I also recommend different names for the different bands.
So for example.
TC name.. TCgenx (I use whatever the generation number is for the x.. eg TCgen4 or latest one TCgen5)
WIreless name.. TC24ghz for 2.4ghz
TC5ghz for 5ghz
You can also set the channel manually.
If you still have issues.. start with no security and then if it fails to connect there is something seriously wrong with the laptop. Did you upgrade install Mavericks?? That can lead to driver issues.. I would recommend a clean install. -

My iPad2 no longer connects to my home wifi network but there is no problem connecting to other saved wifi networks. Currently using iOS8.0.2. with storage capacity of 12.2Gb but only 147Mb free. Disconnecting the router and rebooting the iPad worked briefly as a temporary fix but not anymore
You could try this
Temporarily disable security on your home network
See if the iPad connects
If it does then reset the security - with the same or different password
