Food for thought regarding making sure you run a backup before installing new firmware. You could have simply copied back your settings and you'd be OK. A hard reset is an extreme measure to take to restore a setting for wifi. That said, you may have gotten rid of a load of junk on the phone in the process so you may find it runs a bit happier now.
While the N97 utilised UDP, cases like this reinforce the importance of backing up just in case.

another option is to use the Belkin FM transmitters that are often used for iPods. i had one before, the Tunecast 2 and it worked pretty good and made awesome beeping sounds reminiscent of the taxi cab meter sounds . they're pretty reliable and good quality, and always an option if you cannot purchase the official Nokia accessory in your country.

I have recently emarked on building a multiplayer game for my third year degree project.
I have built some little air apps already but thought it would be cool to try out some mutliplayer aspect.
I was wondering if:
a) Air supports multiplayer [local p2p/adhoc]
b) if Air supports wi-fi direct.

I try to create a wifi connection to use local p2p
But it was not possible to connect to the other device via connection:

If I activate Wifi-Direct, actionscript dispatch an change event, but with the result that WIFI is deaktivated. No event will be fired after creating a wifi-direct connection. So I think it is not possible to use that feature. Would be a cool feature Request.

Is ios 5 "wifi direct" compatible?

I'm trying to use "wifi direct" (supposedly a universal connection standard) to connect my iphone 4 ios 5 to sony bravia TV . After connection it shows up on the tv as an unsupported device. Is this correct or have I done something wrong?

That's why I was asking. Not because I was too stupid to read a list. As anyone who has used computers for any length of time knows, just because something isn't "certified" doesn't necessarily mean it isn't compatible.

In order to do that you will need an AppleTV, you can buy them refurbished from Apple for $75.00. I just got one and love it. I have a fairly large DVD library (about 400 movies) and music library (500 + albums), with AppleTV I can now stream that content to the the link to the refurbished unit is:

EDIT:Whoops I misdirected you. To stream content from the TV to the computer you will probably need a third party device like and Elgato box. I can only refer you to their website at: http://www.elgato.com/eyetv

i have tried to use wifi direct with samsung note 2 it tell me that they have connected when i try to send any thing it takes awhile then tell me connection error and i tried with another mobiles also not working so what can i do

WiFi Direct to Officejet or connect to Internet, but not both

My PC is running Windows 7 Professional. I have HP 7610 that includes the WiFi Direct feature allowing for a PC or other device to establish a WiFi connection to the printer without using a router. Pretty nice feature, however, the software setup establishes a separate "network" for the PC-to-printer connection from that used to connect to the Internet. So, in order to print I have to disconnect from the Internet and connect to the printer's network connection, then reverse that when done. It's akin to virtually plugging and unplugging phone lines!
I have attempted using Win 7's Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter via CMD line instructions, see http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/show/897-how-to-set-up-virtual-wifi-in-windows-7, and though that does enable the virtual WiFi connector and create a secure network connection to the printer, it does not seem to allow me to access the Internet and use the printer at the same time.
Any ideas, or am I stuck until a router enters the fray?

I have a problem with wifi direct, I cannot enable that without using a network because only I can enable this feature with connecting the printer to a preconfigured network and then accessing printer's setting by its IP on the preconfigured network, When I turn on wifi direct on printer I can connect directly to it but if I turn off the preconfiqured network and try to connect to wifi direct I get a problem and I'm not be able to use wifi direct, also the green light on the printer starts to blinking. I want a method to enable wifi direct on my printer that could work without another network. please help.

I can see there is new update for n97 (21.2.045) but update check from phone and pc says i have the latest version. i don;t have latest version. i have september firmware on.

Yes. tried the one ram stick, no go. I have been trying to boot off/install the windows 7 disk but am unable to get to the point where windows starts installing after its gathering information portion of the install. I can get to the disk selection screen of the install with the WD HD on SATA port 2 but then get the "cant install messages" when I try to select the Vertex 3. Yes I can see the Vertex 3 Drive as well as the WD drive at this point. some times I have to hit "scan" a couple of times.

Consider yourself lucky that your MacBook is still working. Now, turn it off. Wine may have damaged other parts of your computer.
Then, take the MacBook to an Apple Store or reseller. It will be a very expensive repair, as it's not covered by warranty and the logic board has to be replaced. In some cases, it may be better to get a new MacBook.
