Wifi doesnt show/connect on old ipod touch
i am trying to get my old ipod touch to connect to my wireless. my iphone and daughters iphone connect fine. i have tried all of the troubleshooting lists already. is it possible the wifi doesnt work anymore? i also tried another wifi at starbucks and it didnt pick that up either. help!!!
Try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

I am having trouble connecting my old ipod touch 2gen to the new itunes, any suggestions.
I have a new desktop and I installed the new itunes 64 bit to it but now I can't connect my old ipod touch 2gen to it, it says that the required software is not installed. To run itunes installer and it will remove this and install the 64 bit software. Which is already installed. Any suggestions as to how to fix this, or is it a lost cause?

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- Then do the other actions of:

- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

I keep getting the circle thingy by my home Wifi connection... as if it's thinking. It never gives me an error and I let it think for about 10 mins. .... just around and around and around the circle goes......
any help?Same deal here. Also, Windows isn't recognizing it as an iPod with apple drivers, but some old MS ones from 2006. When I try to load in the drivers using the .inf file, it says its incompatable.
Might be an issue with iTunes 10.7 perhaps and not the iPod Touch 4 itself? Of course, iTunes does recognize the New iPad just fine, so, take that as you will.

I recently upgraded my verizon cell phone to an iPhone 4S, and had been using a first gen iPod Touch, which is still quite functional and I'd lik eto give it to someone else in the family to use. The problem is that after the first time I connected the 4S, now iTunes will hang (spinning beachball) everytime I try to connect the old Touch. Auto sync is turned off. I've even tried to create a separate account to no avail. As soon as I disconnect the touch, iTunes resumes normally.
okay, this was too difficult for the masses visiting here. it was too difficult for me to figure out as well.
Plan B -- if i want to start over, do i reinstall iTunes? do i reset my iPhone? do i switch the SIM card from the old iPhone to the new 3G? my 3G currently just gets stuck syncing contacts. if i turn contacts syncing off then it'll get stuck syncing calendars. if that get unchecked then it'll get stuck syncing mail stuff . . .and then bookmarks, etc. if i turn off contacts, calendars, mail, and bookmarks then the sync happens just fine with music and ringtones and other stuff. -
Sync new iPod Touch 4G to old iPod Touch 2G Library
When my new 4G iPod Touch arrives any day now, I'd like to sync it with my current 2G iPod Touch library. That is, I'd like to transfer all the data, apps, playlists, settings, etc. from my current 2G iPod Touch library to the new 4G iPod Touch. What is the easiest way to accomplish this? (Once the new iPod Touch is set up, the old iPT will no longer be used. I plan to reset/wipe it and possibly sell, so I have no need to sync both of them to the same library...)
Thanks!I wanted to let you know that I had the same concern and everything worked well EXCEPT the Apps transferring. It turns out that if you bought your apps directly through your old iPod Touch and not through the computer than you will have an issue with App data transfering over. Here's what to do.
1)connect your OLD iPod Touch to the computer, back it up, and disconnect.
2)connect your NEW iPod Touch to the computer and go through start up.
3)you should then be prompted to restore from back up or set up as new ipod (if not simply right click on the listed new device on iTunes and select restore from backup and click on recent backup)
4)All of your settings will now be the same as they were on your old iPod but you will NOT see your Apps (however all of the data from your old apps is on your new iPod just not where you can see it)
5) Lastly, go to the App Store on your NEW iPod and download your old apps. (even if they cost money, it will not make you pay because it will recognize you have data from previous app on your iPod) -
Help i have an old ipod touch today the wifi seems to be not working... I've been typing the correct password for my network but it doesnt work!
If you are sure that your password is correct try restarting your router by removing power to it for 30 seconds and restarting. On your iPod go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings. Now try to connect.

I have an old ipod touch which won't go past the Apple logo, all it does is show me a loading symbol, but will go no further, i have tried restoring it and i have been successful. - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

My WiFi is not working on my ipod touch third gen. The wifi option in setting is blanked out so i am unabole to select it. I have tried restored it and resetting network connections. Also the battery life is very low. How do i fix this????????????
If a restore did not fix it, you have a hardware issue--possible bad wi-fi radio.

Just bought new iPod touch. When I connect to computer to sync it tells me "iTunes could not connect to this iPod touch. Could not send a message to device." Not sure if it is b/c of an older version of iTunes but connecting via wifi sync unacceptable
What version of iTunes is on the computer? You need at least 11.4.

I found my old ipod touch and it says the ipod is disabled and to connect it to itunes but when i try to connect it to itunes it says cannot connect cause ipod has passcode but i cant unlock passcode cause ipod disabled. Please anyone have an idea?

You will need to Restore it as a New Device...

Before you restore the iPod from the backup that Dave had you make yu have to transfer stuff from the iPod to the computer since the backup does not contain the apps themselfes, music, synced phots and some other stuff. To see what a backup contains see:
