wifi doesn't work , installing wifi driver i got this msg : update.cpp1205 " has occured and setup cannot continuehow to fix the problem ?
Go to the device manager, find the Other Devices category and click on the Network Controller device. That is the wireless card that needs the driver. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file. That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp68301. Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

I'd say go with Middleton BIOS either way (SATA II). In which case, get a newfangled 802.11ac card while you're at it.

please help me my wifi driver is installed but not working.i had installed energy management then from shortcut i turn on my wifi but it is not turningon.
and when i searched from CMD promt(c:\netsh wlan show drivers),it gives there is no wifi driver found.

I’m sorry to hear that the Wireless driver is not getting installed in your G580 laptop after re-installing OS (Operating System), I suggest you to check if the Wireless is enabled in BIOS first then try to install the drivers. Below is the steps to access BIOS and check if the Wireless is enabled or not:
To enter BIOS setup utility, press F2 when the Lenovo logo appears on the screen while the computer is starting up.
NOTE: To check how the BIOS menu looks and to explore its options click here.
Now select “Configuration” Tab and enable the “Wireless LAN Support” by clicking on Enter Key when you are on the option.
Then Click on “F10” Key and then YES to save the changes that are done in BIOS, the computer will automatically restart.
Now check installing the Wireless driver in the computer, but and while installing while installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error.
NOTE: Please click on "Select Product" then in "QUICK PATH" enter the model no. as G580 select the exact model.

Satellite A300D-15B PSAKCE - Cannot install the Win XP 64bit sound driver
Hello all,
This is my first post here after lurking for the last week or two, My hope is that somewhere here there is help and hence hope!
I have a wonderful Toshiba A300D-15B PSAKCE with 4GB/O RAM, however I am suffering from some problems that the holy SEARCH function cannot solve. I use this laptop as a development box for uni/work alas...
After an absolute nightmare with Vista32 and Vista64 I decided to go back to windows XP32, however this wont install, keeps claiming a CRC file failure after (and yes this is with the SATA in IDE mode and with an XPSP2 disk)
I decided that I really DONT want to goback to Vista, so installed Windows XP64. Now the initial Instal goes very easy, I have the basic setup, the chipset, graphics, network, processor, usb, pretty much the basic... except... and this is where I have lost most of my hair.... SOUND!
Firstly attempting to install the sound driver results in Failure, claiming the mmdriver.inf cannot be found or corrupt, obviously I checked, and yes there it is, for the sake of it downloaded the MMDRIVER.INF and placed it system32, and still the install fails.
I have also tried a "Manual Install", from the .inf files... this includes the XP32/64 drivers and the Vista 32/64 bit drivers, still the same
problem, driver continues to fail install. I am becoming increasingly bald. Outstanding Drivers that WONT install

Initially I attempted to locate the MS patches you mentioned, KB835221 and KB888111 respectively, alas there were none available that I could find for XP64, also at the time of tapping this message theres no XPSP3 for XP64 bit either.
Lucky for me I logged into my MSDN account and downloaded XP+XPSP3 tore the house up looking for a CDR... anyway long story short.... solved all the problems with the required updates of SP3, I now have my Toshiba A300D-15B all singing 'n dancing laptop setup completely with XP32.
Had to take a hit on the RAM though, gonnna have to go on with only 3.2GB instead of 4GB,
arguably when one counts the memory foot-print that vista ultimate 64 had used I am probalby still on a winner here in memory avaiable terms LOL!

Cannot install on Win 7 32-bit
I canno install CAptivate 5 on my
new computer, running Win7 32-bit. I receive an exit code 7. I have tried the solutions sugge

HP1200 Laserjet Driver not installing on Win 8.1
I'm trying to connect and install an HP 1200 printer to my Pavillion 500-118, which I have recently upgraded to Win 8.1. The HP Support site shows a driver for Win 8 and 8.1 (USB), but after I download the .msi file nothing happens. Not clear what I should do next.

Howto use a Mac to download firefox.exe to flash drive to install on Win XP SP3 box?
Want to install Firefox on a new Acer Aspire 1 (ZG8) with Win XP 2002 SP3 without setting up MS Explorer. I want to do that by downloading Firefox to a USB stick, then transfer it to the Acer and install there. But my only other computer is a Mac Book Pro (OS X 6.8), and Mozilla only offers me a version for Mac. How do I use the Mac to download a windows .exe file to a portable flash drive? If I use a Linux distro and VirtualBox with my Mac, would that allow me to choose the apprpriate download for MS Win XP 2002 SP3?

Take a look on the bottom of your notebook for the label with many icons. There should be a description of the wifi as a radio model that gives the brand and model. Yoou can also use the Device Manager and right click the network adapter without driver. Click on properties. Post the hardware ids PCI\VEN character string here in your thread.

Installed new hard drive & cannot install OS X 10.5
Seems my 2007 aluminum iMac's hard drive was dying (disk warrior was giving me errors saying it was unable to swap out the new rebuilt directory with the old one- plus the apple geniuses said the HD might be dying, and I had tons of issues with apps, especuially world of warcraft which constantly accessed the HD during use for image files, etc).... So I went to Best Buy and bought a new one. The same type as the original faltering HD (WD Cavier blue 320GB). It was installed by the Best Buy Geek Squad Dept.
I got it home today, booted off the install CD disk 1, and it cannot find a destination to install OS X.
The box I am stuck at says: DESTINATION
where do you want to install OS X
and no drive is listed. Nothing in the box.
At the bottom the buttons are options, go back, and continue ... only go back is not greyed out.
So ... lol what is the problem?

Back in Jan. I went with the same WD 320GB Caviar Blue HD, replacing the Seagate 160GB in my Early Core Duo and I'm very happy with it. Instead of using the Install Disk I booted from the Clone on my Maxtor FireWire External HD, then Partitioned/Formatted the new HD and Restored from the Clone on the External HD. -

Satellite Z930-14F - cannot install Win 8.1 from SCCM 2012 R2 environment
Dear all,
Sattelite Z series laptops cannot install OS (win 8.1) from our SCCM 2012 R2 environment.
Either no installation is starting, or pxe boot aborted error is showed.
The environment is used to successfully install OS (win 8.1) on different other vendor computers (dell) and virtual machines (hyper-v and vmware).
I've tried both UEFI and CMS boot options and tried to switch off the secure boot. Please advice.
Also, i've read about the "SCCM installation package for Toshiba". Will it help in my situation or is it just driver packages for SCCM?

I dont have much experience using such SCCM drive package but it definitely compatible with the Toshiba business notebooks. The Satellite / Portege Z930 belong to the business range and I think the package should be compatible.
This package seems to be for all IT administrators who manage devices on the corporate network with SCCM 2012 R2. Toshiba offers with the new Toshiba SCCM package a solution to integrate other notebook into an existing IT infrastructure quickly and smoothly and all Toshiba Driver and application packages and a demonstration task sequence are integrated.
However, it seems that you could get more details about this package directly from Toshiba [email protected]
By the way: The Win 8.1 installation requires the UEFI mode (in case the UEFI BIOS is available). But booting from another, external source requires the disabled secure boot option.
So maybe you should use the UEFI mode but should disable the secure boot option in order to boot from LAN. -
Cannot install Tiger on new hard drive ???!!!
I bought a Samsung 250GB hard drive from MCE Technologies and had it installed by an authorized "Mac Repair Center". When I then tried to install Tiger from the OSX install discs that came with my MacBook Pro, I got the error when trying to select the hard drive: "Cannot install OSX on this volume. OSX cannot be booted from this volume."
I then booted the computer using my old hard drive connected via USB2 and used SuperDuper to copy all its content to the new internal hard drive and made it bootable. Now the computer is able to boot using the new hard drive. It seems rater slow though (not just booting but also working afterwards) and I cannot install Bootcamp. It gives me an error that I should reformat this hard drive and reinstall Osx, which is exactly what I can't do. Does anyone have an idea why my original MacBook Pro OSX Install Disc doesn't work anymore (I assume altered computer configuration...) and how I could do a fresh install of OSX onto the new hard drive anyway ?

At this point, I would have recommended that you run Disk Utility from the installation disk and reformat the drive as Mac Extended (Journaled).
Open Disk Utility, click on the name of your drive to the left and check the format at the bottom. What does it say?

Reinstalling Windows 7 to New Hard Drive with only the Win 7 Upgrade Disc?
So I have an e9180t which like clockwork freezes up after about an hour or two after booting up. I thought it might be the curse of the bad motherboards they came with, but I am hoping it is something else so testing everything I can. I noticed it does not freeze up when booted in safe mode with networking. The hard drive did fail the SMART test so I am wondering if it's time to replace it and if that has something to do with the crashing. I can move cursor, but no apps will open and eventually everything becomes unresponsive causing be tohit the power button to reboot. I already stopped all unnecessary start up programs and it still will freeze in non safe mode.
The PC came with Vista and I believe that's what is on the backup partition on the HD. I do have the Win 7 Upgrade disc from HP. My questons are-
1. If I buy a new HD will the 7 upgrade disc be enough to install full version of Win 7?
2. Anything else I need to do when I install new HD besides reactivate Windows?

Did you create an HP recovery disc set for reinstalling the factory image when the HDD is replaced?
It sound like you may have a problem creating the recovery discs now.
A Smart HDD test failure points to a failing HDD. The symptoms you are experiencing are most likely caused by this fact. You may also have a motherboard or other hardware problem.
You have the Win 7 Upgrade disc and product key.
I am fairly sure the Win 7 upgrade has to be initiated from within Win Vista. The Win 7 upgrade is a full install of Windows so that is not the problem. But it may not run setup unless you start the upgrade in Win Vista. Normally a Win 7 upgrade is started within the current operating system, Win 7 setup validates the existence of a qualifying operating system, and then prompts a reboot to finish the upgrade installation.
You can replace the HDD and try to install Win 7 cleanly. If that fails and you don't have the Vista recovery discs you can purchase an HP recovery disc set here. There are three different builds available. Select the one that matches the factory installed operating system.
You may have one other issue upon replacing the HDD with a newer Advanced Format HDD. Please see this HP Support document for more information.
If you cannot install the Win 7 upgrade cleanly or Win Vista because of the Advanced Format HDD issue, you may have to purchase an OEM copy of Win 7.

Long story short, I tried to install umbuntu to a external HD to play with but the install went bad and it unmounted my drives. This causes my Pavillion g7 to crash every now and then. My g7 is a refubished unit I bought and had Win 8 installed but I don't know if it had Win 7 before that.
So if I can get hold of a full install of Win 8 would it work with the product key in the bios or am I out of luck as the product key on the software has been used and registered? Please help and thanks in advance-MarcRecovery Discs install Windows and all software/drivers that came on the laptop.
I know nothing about unmounted drives,btw.Have never experienced it. Things I would try is booting with a utilty cd to delete partitions, create one and format the hdd. Then try Recovery Discs again.
If you don't have a utility cd-Scroll down on the page and get>> Bootable CD and>> ImgBurn to burn the iso image to cd-a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is> Here.
Once created, boot from it. Delete any hdd partitions, create one and format. Next try booting from Recovery again.
