My wifi keeps dropping off with no rhyme nor reason very frequently.
This has begun happening after my recent upgrade to OS X 10.9.4.

Bootcamp Wifi Drops frequently after install in Mac OS and Windows??

Hi all, I'm running vista via bootcamp on a macbook pro 10.5.8. Ever since I'm installed bootcamp I'm having problems with my wifi dropping after say 15mins. This happens both in vista and mac os. The connection drops but still appears active via the status icons. I've updated the drivers via my mac os disc and web updates but still have the problem. Any thoughts as its bugging me now.
Also how can I make vista accept a direct connection to the internet via ethernet?

WIFI DROPS OUT AFTER MOUNTAIN LION UPDATE

Since upgrade to mountain lion my wifi keeps dropping out after sleep i have ipad and that is ok.

Had the same problem and this worked for me:
Try deleting following two items:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.db
Make sure you take a screenshot of your current dock since deleting these files will reset your dock to default.
Now open terminal and do a sudo reboot w/ your password.
This solved the problem for me.

Wifi very slow after iOS 6.1 upgrade

Per iOS 6.1 I had no problems with my phones wifi. After the upgrade however the phone will connect to it but data transmission is extremely slow. Speed tests show that my connection speed on wifi is under 2Mb as where before the upgrade it was around 30. Mail will not download now either without turning off wifi and going to lte. Have also noticed that lte will randomly turn off and go to 4g while I am using it. The phone usually then goes to no signal and then back to full.

Vista Ultimate WiFi dropping frequently and causing BSODs

Hey guys, I have vista Ultimate SP1 installed on my iMac via bootcamp, when I am not using the network heavily,the network will disconnect every hour, when I try to copy files from time capsule, it drops out every 5-10 minutes, this really isn't helpful when I'm trying to transfer 30+ gigs of data, as I keep having to restart it Also I get the odd BSOD which I think relates to this.

Not all routers and modems work well with Windows 7/Vista.
See if there is firmware for your network equipment.
Upgrade to Win7, much better WiFi and networking.

Wifi Dropping Even After Clean Lion Install

Hey guys,
I upgraded to Lion after its release and ever since then my wifi has been driving me CRAZY. The wifi disconnects, and when I click on my network I get the error that the connection timed out. I'm always forced to turn the wifi off and then back on.
It happened a TON, and consistently. It's extremely frustrating especially when I'm in the middle of a movie on my Apple TV and my iMac loses its internet and interupts the show. Sometimes it happens three or more times during one show.
So I decided to do a clean install of Lion. I made sure all my important documents were on my Hard Drive and even wrote a list out of every application that I use regularly. Then I completely reformated my hard drive and did a clean install of Lion.
But the issue is still happening. Still happening! I don't know what to do! Every computer in the house connects just fine and stays connected.
I'm tried changing my MTU in the hardware tab of the Advanced network settings to 1280 because some people reported that helped but it still doesn't help.
Please. I'm at a loss. The issue makes my iMac unusable and frustrating.

I would try rebooting while holding down the Command - R keys to get into the Recovery Partition. There, run Disk Repair and then run Repair Permissions twice. If that doesn't completely resolve it the the next step is to reset the PRAM, by rebooting while holding down the Command-Option-P-R keys. These may be the problem solvers you need.

Wifi occasionally disappearing after OS X Yosemite upgrade

Recently I upgraded to OS X Yosemite. Since then everything has been working pretty much fine, except every so often my wifi connection suddenly disappears. I have to turn my wifi off and then on again to get my internet connection back. This isn't a huge deal to me (it could be worse) but it is very annoying. I have read about various "fixes" for this problem in Yosemite but I don't know if they are intended for my particular problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Check the cycle count of the battery against the rated life for your model. The battery may be due for replacement. If the power adapter is connected almost all the time, the battery may need replacing even though the cycle count is not too high.
2. Follow these instructions, or these for OS X 10.8 or earlier.
3. In the Energy Saver preference pane, uncheck the box marked
Enable Power Nap while on battery power
if it's shown (it may not be.)
4. You can also try resetting the SMC.
5. Make sure your system is up to date in Software Update.
6. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

Macbook Pro 13 crashes frequently after some days of upgrade

Hey guys, i had a MBP 13' Mid 2009 2.64G. Recently i upgraded it to Kingston SSD V+ 128GB (SNVP325-S2B/128GB) and upgrade the memories to 2*4G PC1333 Patriot (PSD38G1333SK) and change the superdrive to a harddrive (HITACHI 500GB).
I reinstall the system and all the softwares. It runs really good for like a week.
And it was 2 days ago, I remember it crashed during using firefox watching some youtube video, and after that it crashes frequestly.
I tried to use iDVD to make a DVD and I added a external USB drive, and it crashes.
I didn't turn off the Sudden Motion Sensor which might be a problem. I didn't usually put the computer to sleep.
Anyone have idea about what might be wrong? Any suggestion?
BTW, I'm reinstall system and everything to see if it's something wrong with the software.

I did reinstall the system and upgrade to 10.6.5, and this morning just open a safari and an iDVD and it crashed again (freeze). I got error down below.
I didn't know that I need to reset PRAM before your post, but I did a little research about it. And now I changed back the old memeries, and I did reset PRAM this time. I will see if it'll work.

IPad wifi very unreliable after 6.1.3 upgrade

I more than a dozen devices of several manufacturers that use my two Linksys access points and all of them work reliably except my iPad second gen wifi only tablet. IOS 6.1.2 was very reliable as far as wifi goes on this tablet, but immediately after updating to 6.1.3 I now experience scenarios where the wifi will not connect. It sees APs listed, other devices are on the same AP but it wil not connect. Symptom starts when I move in the house from one AP to another. I Restart the iPad, I go to airplane mode, and try restarting wifi in settings app... Nothing works. It continues to show the APs but will not join them until I restart the AP. I won't accept having to restart my APs several times per week... None of the many other devices (apple TVs(2), iPhones (3), iPods (3), laptops (2), desktops (2), printer, bluray player) have any troubles, only the iPad and only after updating to 6.1.3. I never had to restart my APs until I updated this iPad to 6.1.3.
Does anyone have an answer for this? This clearly must be a software problem, right?

My wifi drops off after computer sleep

After computer sleep~ 1hr or more, can’t access internet, WiFi icon in menu bar says I’m connected.
Network diagnostics gives me error message: “Network Diagnostics wants to access key: My network name in your keychain, do you want to allow access? I hit “Always allow” , then I get message : “Network change detected- do you want to proceed”, I hit “yes” and WiFi is restored.
What I tried to fix it from calls to Apple support and what I read on line:
1 Start over from scratch- remove all internet PW’ds from keychain, remove network from Network preferences.
2 NV RAM reset
3 turn off Firewall off
4 Set service order
5 SMC reset
6 Remove System Configuration folder
7 Renew DHCP lease
8 Remove Bluetooth Preferences file.
Nothing has worked.

WIFI doesnt work after the windows 10 upgrade

hi i'm having a wifi problem once i've upgraded to windows 10to be short , my wifi is disabled and i cant activate it neither manually ( Fn + F12 ) or authomatically (via windows )i tried to update my drivers ( they are all updated ) and the strange thing is that my bluethoot works perfectely !i'm having also a driver that says it is damaged it has a yellow triangle in it , this is its name ACPI\HPQ6001\2&DABA3FF&3thanks for your help

Finally I've solved it! I have a "HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook", I used to turn on/off mi WIFI with FN+FN12 combination in Windows 7. When I've installed Windows 10, I realized that this combination does not work anymore, it only enables/disables the Airplane Mode. My assumption for the root of the issue is; if somehow if you forget the WIFI turned off during Windows 10 installation, it stays turned off from the BIOS, and if you dont have a hard switch (not a key combination) to turn it on you will not be able to turn it on via the keyboard, because FN+FN12 combination will not trigger it anymore. For my Pavillion solution was (as someone mentioned it in the forums earlier) to load the default options from the BIOS, which will reconfigure your BIOS and WIFI will be "Hard Enabled" as it was in Factory Defaults. Don't forget to "Save and Exit" when exiting the BIOS menu. Good Luck!

Wifi dropping out after 10.10.2 update

Prior to the Yosemite 10.10.2 update my Wifi was working perfectly fine - Now I am lucky to get 2-3 mins of internet on my iMac. I have 3 other Apple devices in my home (iPhones and iPads) with no Wifi issues so there is absolutely no fault with my modem. I have spoken with Apple Support 4 times in the last 24 hours trying to troubleshoot this with no success. They don't seem to be aware this is a problem many people are experiencing. Does anyone have any tips on how I can fix this until Apple come up with an update that will actually work?? I've only had my iMac for 2 months and it is very close to being thrown out the window as it is completely useless to me without internet. Thanks in advance

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion 13-b000no Notebook with Qualcomm Atheros WiFi adapter. I have installed latest drivers available from HP Support Assistance Software. The WiFi keeps dropping frequently after every 5-10 min of usage. The same happens if I install the latest driver available from Windows Update. Is there a workaround / fix for that?The product was purchased in March this year.

WiFi dropping on new ipad2

Just bought it yesterday and so far really disappointed with wifi dropping out after 15 seconds! reset network settings, upgraded to latest ios and even when i get it showing it goes as soon as I open an app! been an apple user for 18 years and thisis the first apple product that doesent make me feel like a kid at christmas, please help restor my faith and get it working?

My iPad2 after lates iOS 7.1 update was dropping wifi every 15 sec or so. Same issue on my AppleTv. At the same time iPad Air was firmly connected on the same wifi network and so was my iPhone 4S. The only thing that solved it once and for all was changing my router to security WPA/WPA2 and AES/TKIP. To do this, open your Internet browser on a computer and visit the router's configuration page. If the router uses WEP security, switch to WPA or WPA2. And bingo!
