WiFi from iPhone 4S to iPad2

I have a problem with sharing my internet connection from my iPhone 4S to my iPad2. My IPad looks like it has been connected correct, and in my iPhone, I get the confirmation that I'm sharing the internet connection with one user. But... my iPad won't go online. When I do the same internet sharing with my iPhone and my MacBook Air with the latest Lion iOS it works just perfect. Some settings I've missed on the iPad? I have the latest iOS on the iPhone as well as the iPod.

After switching the iPhone off, and then on again it worked out perfect!

My wife and I both have an iPhone and separate itunes accounts. This Christmas she will be receiving a new iPad2. We also have an Apple TV2 that we currently have set up with home sharing to my PC. I am confused as to get all content to be shared between all three devices and further into the Apple TV2.
If the Apple Tv is being shared with my PC and my iPhone, can we also share it with my wife's iPhone and her new iPad2? If so how do I do that. If I remember right, we can only set up one shared iten with the apple tv, is this correct?

Why did not all applications transfer from iphone 4 to ipad2?

Hi I have just purchased an Ipad2, but not all my applications have been transferred from my Iphone4. Does anyone know why this is?
Also when pulgging in my Ipad to my PC it states that it is not charging, but my Iphone charges. Any ideas?

You can email them to yourself
You can sync them from iTunes to your iPad
You can get an App like Dropbox
But you can't connect an iPhone directly to iPad

If you are saying that you are waiting for photos that you have taken on your phone to transfer to the photos application on your Mac using the iCloud photo library whilst you are loading photos from the photos application on your Mac to the iCloud photo library, Then yes I believe you will have to wait.

So you've power cycled the iPad 2 & the router. The laptop is working again fine with the router.
Can the iPad 2 see you network, aswell as other networks?
Try selecting you network if its on the list in Settings > WiFi then Forget this Network. Then iPad 2 settings > general > reset > reset network settings.
Test to see if the wifi network can be detected & joined again in the Ipad 2.

Something that might help even if it's not exactly what you are looking for:
Launch app store on iPad and go to purchased / not on this iPad. This will give you a list all the apps you have purchased but haven't installed on your device yet.

Wifi from iPhone hotspot not working with iPad 2

I cannot get my iPad 2 to connect to my iPhone 4 via the personal hotspot feature. If it does connect, it does not connect to safari or mail.

I assume you have verified that the iPhone hotspot works with another computer.
It might help to reset the iPad's network. Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You will then need to reconnect the WiFi.

Siri uses the relationship value from contacts to know who your wide is, so one of the contacts definitely has 'wife' marked in it, which you can easily delete in the contacts app. If it's not showing up, I'd suggest looking at where your contacts are synced to, because sometimes icloud contacts, gmail contacts or iphone contacts can be stored separetely (if you have played with the settings and chenged the default behaviour at all).

I get a red (!) and a message saying she is not registered for iMessages.
I can send her messages from my 4S.
The Settings/messages tab in her phone has no SMS slider and no "Receive at" field.

Yahoo has messed with their stuff lately (honestly they've been messing with their servers for months)

These have applied to people not able to get mail but changing the settings may help you and your wife. (My yahoo is still working so I haven't needed to try any of these)
I've noticed with my Yahoo that they've changed their login protocols. For example 'stay signed in' is always clicked and the push is for people to merge multiple accounts to access their multiple yahoo from one account/sign in instead of signing out/in to access different accounts. I'm wondering if that change is what's messing with the protocols needed for iOS mail to work. But no one really knows for sure (and neither Apple or Yahoo will comment on the issue)
About all users can do is find work arounds that work for them.
If these don't work or if you don't want to use the yahoo mail app, you might try using safari to go to yahoo.com and access your mail that way.

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I can send and receive to any non iPhone user. I can send a message as a text to an iPhone user but if I'm not connected to cellular data or wifi I do not receive messages from iPhone contacts. From what I understand these message should automatically send to me as texts instead of iMessages but since the update it's not functioning properly. Please help. I've tried turning iMessage off and I still don't receive the messages until after I reconnect to wifi.

I have the same problem! Before the upgrade, if I wasn't connected to the internet, any messages sent to me from an iphone would convert automatically to a text message. I have payg tarriff, so I turn cell data off, as it costs too much to use it. I have wifi at home and work, but if I'm out and about, I don't receive texts from iphone users until I'm on wifi. I get them ok from non iphone users. There was never any problem until ios7
