Wifi goes out a lot but comes back if I turn the phone off/on. 5S
wifi goes out a lot but comes back if I turn the phone off/on. 5S iPhone. Not sure what the problem is. I've heard that changing my wifi router security to WEP works but that seems pretty lame.
Hello, SDSmith45202.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Sometimes a simple power cycle of the access point can correct the issue that you are experiencing. However, the issue could be a little more complex. Wi-Fi routers need adjustments to settings periodically for optimized performance with the constant progression of wireless device technology. Below, I have included two articles. The first article will cover basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting regarding iOS device connection. The second article cover the recommended settings for current Wi-Fi access points.

My problem - when syncing and error messages comes up: iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone because an error occurred while margin data." I've tried turning the phone off and back on, & tried both USB ports but get the same thing. What can I do next since it doesn't give me even one clue as to what the error would be?
Before I started to resync calendars one by one as suggested in the troubleshooting article, I remembered something that came up in a sync when I first attempted : a 'which one do you want to keep' message about a repeating calendar event, which came up with three options, one from Calendar, and two from iCal on the phone. I deleted that event, then went through the calendar resync one by one, and all seems OK now.
In Music there is a way to find 'ghost' items that show up as grayed-out on the menus, so that you can try to reassociate or delete them. It would be nice to have a similar way to work with Calendar!
Thanks for pointing me to the right article. -

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand you have been experiencing issues with your iPhone restarting and showing you a blue screen. I wont be able to give you an exact answer as to why this is happening. However, this is the most relevant troubleshooting article for this issue. This article also provides options to reach out to us via phone for additional assistance.

When watching a program or film, the video will suddenly fo black, but the audio will keep playing. The only way to get picture back is to turn the tv off then on. Whats going on?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check that the HDMI cable is correctly seated at both ends.
Try disconnecting the cable and connecting it again.
Try another HDMI cable.
Make sure your TV supports 720p (Apple TV 2)
Try the Apple TV with another TV -
my iphone 4 home button is not working anymore. I have to turn the phone off and on again to access an app. When turning it on it immediately goes to voice control. I cannot get out of this. I have checked and updated the software and finally reset the phone. All this has left me with the same problem. Any ideas???
Voice Over Fix
Settings > General > Accessibility > Voice Over > Off
Or,
Press the Home Button 3 Times
Now...
Reset your phone:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release the buttons...
The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart.. Reset.. Restore from Backup... Restore as New...

Iphone 5 not charging but will power on if you turn the phone off
Hi, for a couple of weeks now the connection on my iPhone 5 has been bad when trying to charge. It would constantly connect and then disconnect straight away until you got it into a very still position where the cable or the phone would not be touched. Now the phone has stopped charging altogether. I have checked the charging port to see if there is any lint but there is none in there. The strange thing is that if you turn the phone off, and then plug the cable into the phone it recognises it and then will turn on. Anyone else had this problem or know of a way to sort it? I have got a genius bar appointment in the next couple of days but will have to go without a phone until then, and it is also out of warranty so I assume apple will try to make me pay for it if it needs fixing.
Thanks.Just incase anyone else is having similar issues, I took the phone into the apple store today and the guy said that it wasn't the charging port, the battery is operating fine but something was going wrong, wouldn't tell me what just asked I paid £210 for a replacement phone. Took down to a local gadget repair shop and they sorted it out for £25 as it was the charging port that was broke now phone is working fine again. I get the impression that apple must have known it was a charging port problem because the other place which isn't even an apple shop found it in a matter of minutes. Shame that apple have to be so greedy sometimes because in the past they have been excellent for me.

When i try to open week cal it loads and then closes after a few seconds...I have checked for updates, turned the phone off then on, closed out of the app and then opened it again...nothing works! I have thought about deleting the app from my phone and then reloading it again but I worry that it will delete all my calendar info??? Any suggestions?
To reset, press and hold the Home and power buttons until the silver apple appears.
I would delete the app, reset the phone and then download the app again. Your calendar information should be stored on the phone as Week Cal uses the Calendar app information.
Best of luck. -
While using my Iphone 5, all of a sudden black and white stripes where on the screen. I have tryed to turn the phone off and on again, but there are only the stripes. I can't use it, and nothing happens when I push the buttons. Can someone help me?
Try resetting your phone, hold the home and sleep/wake button down until the apple symbol comes up, then release. If that doesnt work, you may have damaged your phone and need to take it to an apple genius bar.

My iphone 4S has mute activated. It will not un-mute by taping the mute button or when I turn the phone off then back on.Hi Lukeohiggins,
If you are having issues with your iPhone unexpectely powering off, you may want to try the troubleshooting listed under Power/Battery > Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off in the following article:

I lost the ability to use wifi after the 8.02 update. Is there a way to fix this? I've already tried resetting network. Turned the phone off and on. Nothing is working and now I have to run on just data.
csdwarf,
So sorry to hear about the trouble with Wi-Fi! Let's get that working the way it should. Could you provide us some more details regarding where this breakdown occurs? Are you having trouble with turning Wi-Fi on or connecting to your Wi-Fi? Are other devices connecting to your Wi-Fi without issue?

My youtube app is no longer working on my iphone 3. Others, with the same phone, are not having the problem. It works occassionally, but it's unpredictable. I've updated phone software, deleted the app, re-downloaded the app, turned the phone off and on...nothing.
You may have debris in your headphone jack blocking the sensor. Try blowing hard on the jack, and inserting/removing your headphones quickly multiple times to clear it.

All the keystrokes sounds in different sounds that go with the phone have stopped working do you know how to make them go again? The ring tones and notifications down this still work but not that keystrokes are other in phone sounds. Is there something I can do other than turn the phone off and on to restore them?
Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.
If the basic troubleshooting steps don't work, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and probable replacement. -
The light on the back of my iphone 4s will not turn off. Even when I turn the phone off the light stays on. Can someone help? I did notice that the camera on the back has a little bit of moisture. (I have 3 small kids).
You will need to have the hold switch replaced.

I've paid my past due bill, and turned the phone off and back on, why isn't my service restored?
How long ago did you pay the bill? Has the payment cleared? It may take up to a couple of hours after the payment clears until service is restored.
Unless you are in the area that is having service issues. There is an area where service is down.
