Wifi hotel log in screen how to

Just checked in for a week of vacation and get free wifi at hotel but have an "agree" screen. How can I still use the apple tv for kids? (works fine or computer because is can "agree" but never see such a screen with apple tv. Can't access the router to reset either
Any ideas? Thanks

Your only real option would be to use the computer to connect via wi-fi and then share the internet connection over ethernet.
This will work in theory but the T&Cs for the service might prohibit sharing.

an unprotected wifi network brings up the log in screen that goes to the apple home page. how do I prevent this?

This seems to be the best working option (while not 100% success):
    From Demo:
    Try this.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

i googled for answer to resolve the zoom problem.  all the anwers just told you to read links but didn't tell how to fix the screem back to normal then it can be able to go to Setting to fix the zoom funciton.  HOWEVER, I accidentally found the solution myself by using a fingers or more
to draw circles clockwise on the screen....it will reset it normally.  I spent hours trying to go diagonally, compressively still didn't work.

    Hey there byambar,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re describing two issues, the first issue is related to the Zoom accessibility feature and the second issue is related to the device being disabled.
Take a look at the article linked below to learn more about Zoom and the other accessibility features on your iPhone 5.

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Some users don't appear at the login screen when restarting, only upon logging in as a user who does appear, then logging out. How can I make all users appear on the initial list?

I've inherited a previously used early 2011 13-inch MacBook Pro at work.
I now have my own account on the computer, however the account does not show up on the list of users to log in as in the start up log in screen. It will only appear if I first log in as one of the users who do appear, then logout. The background also changes between these two log in screens - the start up one is white whereas after logging out of one user it's the brushed steel background. My account has admin powers.
Anyone have any ideas how I can make this account also show up on the start up screen?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I do think it has something to do with FileVault.
Under System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> FileVault I try and click "Enable users" near the bottom (after unlocking with an admin password). If I do this from my own account a green check mark appears next to my name, but upon clicking "done" I received this message after a brief loading period:
The following users weren’t allowed to unlock this disk because an unknown error occurred: (myusername).
I tried going into the root account and performing this same process, the first time System Prefences unexpectedly quit, and the second I received the same error as above after clicking the "Enable User..." button next to my account and trying to hit "Done".

  • I do have wifi connection but no internet, how is this possible? I logged in to the internet at my friends place and when I got home my own internet was not working anymore

I do have wifi connection but no internet, how is this possible? I logged in to the internet at my friends place and when I got home my own internet was not working anymore

This is possible to be connected to WiFi but not internet.
You connect to your modem/router via WiFi and whether it is connected to the internet or configured properly to route the internet to WiFi devices is a different story.
Now if you've already reset your WiFi (try disabling and enabling) and perhaps even restarting your MBP
Then make sure that your modem/router is connected to the internet.
You can try any other device, lights on the modem/router or use Eth cable to test.
    Report back your findings.

  • I had a picture in my log in screen and it disappeared. How can I retrieve it?

I had a picture in my log in screen and it disappeared. How can I retrieve it?

Woah there fella, if your files have been deleted and you still keep the same hard-drive you might want to use some undelete software first, such as http://www.officerecovery.com/freeundelete/ which I am not familiar with. Just make sure you recover the files into an external or different drive than the one you are recovering first... Otherwise it won't work. You could porbably restore most of your data this way, music and everything else.
    Otherwise:
    1. Open iTunes (latest version).
    2. On the left ruler, under "Store", click on "Purchased".
    3. On the bottom right of the screen click on "Download Previous Purchases".
    4. Download whatever you like.

I followed your link supplied, #5 below is an issue, I have no "Edit..." button to click. There is a "Network Account Server: Join..." button.
How to disable the root user
Mac OS X v10.6 and later
    1. From the Apple menu choose System Preferences....
    2. From the View menu choose Accounts.
    3. Click on the lock and authenticate with an administrator account.
    4. Click Login Options....
    5. Click the "Edit..." button at the bottom right
    6. Click the "Open Directory Utility..." button.
    7. Click the lock in the Directory Utility window.
    8. Enter an administrator account name and password, then click OK.
    9. Choose Disable Root User from the Edit menu.
Also, In the left area of this Accounts screen it reads:
    My Account
    Dick (Admin)
    Other Accounts
    Guest Account (Disabled)
    Jane (Admin)

I have a Macbook Air and customised my log on screen (the one you see as soon as you start the computer) to say "this mac belongs to xxx with my email address and phone number" just in case some kind soul who finds my Mac might return to me! My phone number has changed but I can't remember how I set this up so that I can alter it. Can anyone help? I've checked all the settings on the main preferences but couldn't find anything.

goto System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General,
then check mark Show a message when the screen is locked,
    then click Set Lock Message
